  1. Wow this is dumb. If you don't like his ideas, say why or provide alternatives instead of insulting them, please.
  2. Christmas music that's already been playing on the radio since mid-November.
  3. Yeah, I find it odd that they'd have Jeffress working out with them if testing positive twice for illegal drugs and not have Salome there if it was for something in a legitimate prescription that he was taking. Something certainly doesn't seem quite right with that, at least in my opinion.
  4. but I have copies as does Angel. I guess there is a way to find it out publicly, but who cares? Angel doesn't, he team mates who know him don't and few others don't. Then as previously suggested, if it's not a big deal, why not send a copy over to Brian and clear everything up once and for all? With Angel's permission, of course. Since it's not a big deal, I'd think he'd be thrilled to clear himself in the eyes of Brewer fans.
  5. Because I don't think Doug is going to trade for a rent-a-closer. It's certainly possible, but I'd say unlikely.
  6. If we get Scott, we're not getting Rolen, I'd think.
  7. For those that display auto'd cards, what do you use? I'm currently using pro-mold one-screw holders, but I was wondering if anyone was using UV protecting holders of some kind?
  8. As for the rumored deal, I think it's right about what you'd expect him to get. In actuality, it's probably a year to long and 3-5 million too much, but that's the market.
  9. Linebrink is a type A FA, so we'd get both a sandwich pick and their 2nd. EDIT: And I haven't got a clue how the sandwich picks are slotted, since it's been about 15 years since the Brewers have had one.
  10. The Dana Carvey comparison might be good, as the Dana Carvey Show aired about 6 episodes before getting cut.
  11. Has anyone seen anything in print form to confirm if cash/salary were picked up or PTBNL were included?
  12. Yeah, I'm fine with the deal as it is, I guess. Nothing groundbreaking in any sense of the word, but it at least gives us another arm to try in the pen, which we wouldn't have had if they non-tendered him, which seems likely. If Kendall performs like he did in the 2nd half of 07 instead of the first half, I think we've upgraded the team and added a body in the pen. The best job in America might be being Johnny Estrada's Real Estate salesman.
  13. And coming off a steroid suspension? Man, I really feel bad about this trade. And Estrada's coming off a couple of surgeries, just to put everything on the table.
  14. I guess I'm reasonably on board with the Mota/Kendall > Estrada equation for the 08 Brewers. Still would really prefer Barrett, though.
  15. Holy moly, Brewer Fever might have been very correct about wanting to rid ourselves of Estrada at all costs. Mota stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6214' He really struggled last year for whatever reason, and is generally a mediocre reliever from the stats. But, IIRC, he throws really hard. Anyone know his contract situation? Looks like he's at least arby eligible.
  16. This would certainly give us the best young lineup in the Majors, and the terrifying thing is that they'll all be together for 3-5 more years. It'd also help stabilize a bullpen that needs all the help it can get. Sure, the rotation is weakened some, but it gives the Brewers mega cash this season to try and acquire rotation help at some point. I'd definitely do this deal, as this would be much better compensation than a pick or two next offseason if Sheets leaves. If nothing else, it's a heck of a lot more exciting than talking about Jason Kendall and Pedro Feliz.
  17. Per the Mets re-signing Castillo article, the Mets broke off talks because they think something's wrong with his throwing shoulder. Hopefully the Brewers stay very, very far away.
  18. New Haudricourt article: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=687157 Brewers did contact Kendall, no interest in LoDuca or Barrett at this point (until they see what SD does with Barrett and Arby). And again, someone clue Tom in that we WOULN'T have to give up our 2nd round pick for a B free agent.
  19. I think someone like Kendall would take Miller's role. Even then, I'd hate the signing unless it was a minor league deal or something. I really doubt that Rivera wouldn't be able to put up Kendall's numbers.
  20. Jon Broxton is an absolute beast. Even the Orioles would have accepted this deal instantly if this was actually true.
  21. GM's voted today to use instant replay on fair/foul HR calls, as well as possible fan interference, and double/HR questions. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3096923
  22. Being offered arby shouldn't have any effect on whether or not a team would sign him, as they wouldn't be out anything since he's class B.

  24. That'd have to be a heck of a handshake, as I can't see why a guy who won't play for 3-4 months of the season wouldn't want to come back for a minimum of 2.6 million, which is as low as the Brewers could go if they offered him arby.
