  1. And I think it is an exageration to think that Gwynn, Jackson, Sarfate, Etc. could be the main pieces to anything that would remotely upgrade the current team. Well, then we disagree on the correct usage of the word exaggeration, but I think it's likely that pieces from the major league roster would have to be included as well.
  2. There were 2? why 2? only one was on display at the stadium right? There was an original one from the 70s-80s, then a second one from ~1995-2000. The original had been removed for that huge tower of speakers.
  3. Edit: Ha, Fuentes makes it. He's not even the closer for his team anymore. Reminds me of someone from last year...cant quite put my finger on it... Who would that be?
  4. Congrats to Hardy, Cordero, and Sheets! mlb.mlb.com/news/article....&fext=.jsp
  5. If they do the AL pitchers next, I'm going to scream. Especially since the full AL roster is on MLB.com.
  6. Yeah, don't do the NL starters next, lets jump to commercial then do the AL reserves. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. And of course they start with the AL.... grrr.
  8. Man, was this a poorly thought out idea. I'll bet this doesn't get scheduled like this next year.
  9. I agree VG. This might be the first All-Star game where we hear about who the All-stars are for the first time at the actual game...
  10. They had a rain delay, and are currently in the longest top of the 9th in the history of the world.
  11. Short memory, DH. Jose has a very nice curve/slider, his inability to find the plate with it is why he had a poor last month plus last year. So he has a short memory because he can't remember back to the 15.2 innings in 2005 where Jose actually performed well? Jose is still young enough at 26 to be a solid reliever, but he was very mediocre in his time in Milwaukee as a whole. I wish I could have a nice little career like all these "failures". While Capellan might not have been a "failure" (though unless I missed it somewhere, you used the word before anyone else in this thread), he certainly was a huge disappointment and over-hyped. Considering his childish pouting and demands to be traded, he probably won't be missed much if at all by this organization.
  12. Dang it, Soriano drops one, then Derosa barely makes the catch on a ball that he struggled with all the way.
  13. Counsell has been red-hot lately. Not sure why he's not a legitimate option currently.
  14. What's less cool was his initial backhanded remark at me. Whatever, though. No, personal attacks are never cool, and not allowed here, regardless of the circumstances.
  15. Maybe the Cubs wouldn't have even tried to cut him down with a 4 run lead? I think that is true, but it was also fielded by Ramirez while going towards 2nd. I don't think there's any way he makes that throw to home.
  16. Yay Corey! Too bad Jenkins ran like a dip, or it'd be 4-2. Too bad the ump was a dip, or it'd be 3-2. Too bad Braun fielded like a dip, or it'd be tied.
  17. Jenkins with an amazingly dumb play for a 10 year vet.
  18. Rocket balls being hit all over the place, and all of them are being caught.
  19. Well, it could have been much worse, but should have been soooo much better. The offense needs to wake the heck up.
  20. That umpire is either drunk or blind. Granted, he put himself COMPLETELY out of position, but that was a horrible freaking call.
  21. Would it be beneficial to us to mortgage the future for another 50 points of OPS this year? I think this is an exaggeration, as trading spare parts like Gwynn, Jackson, Sarfate, etc isn't even close to mortgaging the future, as there's arguably no place for them to contribute anyway.
  22. But, hey, way to be a jerk anyhow. Much appreciated. Not cool.
  23. I think Marquis got hit right in the mouth by that bat. I'm 99% sure he's bleeding.
  24. I to wonder what there plans are for Dessens when he's healthy if Spruling is gone or if Dessens is gone? We will see. I think Dessens is already healthy, honestly. I wonder if he was ever unhealthy in the first place.
  25. Whatever the case may be, good riddance Latin Cappy. It's almost too bad though that they couldn't trade him to a horrible team like Texas, KC or Washington, though.
