  1. You know, tonight is a night I'll actually be glad to have Shouse. Just the threat of actually having a LOOGY in the pen might keep Edmonds on the bench in the mid-late innings.
  2. Hector Luna is the Rickie Weeks of LF.
  3. Feels kinda nice to pound the Cards early, doesn't it? Keep it up.
  4. Thank you Hector Luna for misplaying a possible out into a 3-run HR. As soon as the catcher moved to set up inside, I knew it was going to be a HR or at least close.
  5. Jorge just screams Teddy Higuera in his prime when he's on like that. It's just getting him to be on like that consistently that's the problem. And count me in as someone that thought Scott Spiezio retired like 3 years ago...
  6. Yep, revised the box score. That's an amazing line from Rogers, quite possibly the best of his career (probably by far).
  7. Certainly seems like a light has gone on somewhere for Mr. Rogers.
  8. Grieving after losing someone. Death in the family is most likely.
  9. When Hall comes up with the game on the line late in the game, the other team should just go home.
  10. He still put us in the hole after only two batters. What's the difference if he gave up a run after two batters or two innings?
  11. Gabe Gross clearly would have hit a HR there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Have to tie it up here, somehow.
  13. My point remains the same the guys making decisions in the fornt office know more then guys reading these boards and regugitating page after page of Moneyball. I read Moneyball to. I get it. I just don't agree with every tenet in it. And that was a much better way to express your point, FWIW.
  14. Is there anything more annoying than that angry face in the subject of every post?
  15. After round 20 do they just look for athletes and hope they can turn them into players? Yes and no. Sometimes they'll go for raw athletes and try to mold them. Quite often they'll take guys who will go to Junior Colleges and let them show themselves at a higher level of competition and for an extra season, and then sign them before next year's draft. The Brewers did that with Manny Parra in 2001. He was a 26th round pick that dominated JuCo so much that he would have been a 1st rounder had the Brewers not signed him the week before the 2002 draft.
  16. Younger twin brother? I'm assuming he went to college and Jon was drafted out of HS?
  17. Here's to having no clue that this was a 4-game series. I honestly was assuming the Padres were done and out of here yesterday.
  18. Why didn't Ned pinch-hit for Moeller. They'll never put themselves into a position where they have no backup catcher available. I don't agree with it, but that's the logic.
  19. And NOW Wise sends them down 1-2-3.... ugh.
  20. Barry Bonds is the best player of all time. Not even close, regardless of the steroids allegations.
  21. Just missed a third. Seriously, not cool.
  22. Get him out of there before this gets worse.
