  1. Of course Hart proves that he should be hitting in the 3-hole instead of Gabe Gross by smacking a double and scoring.
  2. That's just textbook coaching. The manager has to decide to pinch hit for the pitcher in a close game, he doesn't, and it should be an easy out. It's not Ned's fault that JDLR can't throw one freaking strike. That is true, but it is questionable in the first place to put a guy with questionable control in that position. I have a problem with the move in hindsight (or execution) but not in theory. I'm more miffed that the coaching staff didn't seem to recognize that Jorge had clearly hit the wall.
  3. And Winklesas pulls ahead in the "Lose Your 40-man Spot when Helling Returns" contest...
  4. Daron: "He (Jorge) only has himself to blame." Well, if he hit the wall, what is he supposed to do? Should have faced the eight hitter in the first place.
  5. See ya in a week Trowekamp. Sigh.
  6. I fully expect Winklesas to surrender a bases-clearing double here to make Jorge's outing look much, much worse than it actually was.
  7. A four-spot in the first for a suddenly surging Huntsville team.
  8. There's Carlos earning his money as well... Hart left the game abruptly yesterday, so I wonder if something may be up. Otherwise, not sure.
  9. Jenkins comes out for Gross? Corey Hart is a much better fit overall and especially in the 3-hole.
  10. Well if Jenkins and Lee are the same player we would be FREAKING insane to give a 50 million dollar contract to an older version of Geoff Jenkins who can't field. ....which has been what a lot of people here have been saying since last October. Except that Carlos is a couple years younger, but still. No good can come out of it.
  11. Jenkins caught on the track as the train comes through...
  12. IM TALKING THIS YEAR So why were you slamming Jenkins' career earlier in the thread?
  13. Their career BA's are very similar, but Jenkins has struck out a LOT more, and Carlos has more HR's and RBI's. Carlos is clearly superior. Actually, no. Carlos: .283/.338/.492 .830 OPS Jenks: ..279/.347/.503/ .850 OPS So Carlos has more HR's, but Jenkins actually slugs better than him, and walks more per PA. Carlos only has 21 more HR in 437 more AB's, and has the additional RBI's you'd expect out of esentially playing one extra season. Jenkins is actually more productive than Carlos according to OPS. And for the record, in baseball reference under Carlos Lee, the player who is listed as most similar to Carlos all-time is Geoff Jenkins.
  14. JenKins isnt in a slump. Its called his career. Since his career numbers are virtually identical to Carlos Lee's, what does that say about Carlos?
  15. Wow... Jenks may be in a slump, but that strike 3 call was a joke.
  16. You know, our pitching wouldn't be so bad if we had OF'ers that weren't slow and horrible in the field.
  17. Thanks for the help, Alfonso. Man, that was dumb.
  18. Going to be a long day. Time to get on the Zach Jackson train.
  19. Yeah, Rickie was only the college player of the year at Southern before he came out...
  20. And people still want to sign Carlos Lee to a 13 million a year deal for 4 years?
  21. You know, when Turnbow was pulled for Shouse a couple of weeks ago, there was a bunch of concern about how he'd handle it mentally. Well, he certainly hasn't handled it well, it seems.
  22. Can Hart move to third to keep Prince in? Hart left the game a couple of innings ago.
  23. Koskie running there makes zero sense, no matter what was called.
