I started the new documentary series High Score on Netflix about the birth and progression of the video game industry in the 80s, and it’s been very enjoyable so far. It’s really interesting for those that grew up on Atari and NES back then!

I think you're nitpicking a bit over terminology. I think you're 100% correct that the goal should always be to get as much as possible while giving at little as possible. But the result of that is a deal that accomplishes whatever the goal is of both the teams, meaning that a deal's 'winner' isn't decided in the moment, but rather 3-5-10-whatever years later when the results of the goals are actually apparent. Sometimes, it works out fine for both sides over both the short and long-terms. -
I think it's fair to note the importance of the CC trade from a franchise standpoint, as it was the first time the team had made the playoffs in decades as noted, but also put Milwaukee back on the map so to speak as a team willing to acquire big-name players to make a run as necessary. It's very fair to weigh that heavily. But for value to the franchise, TPlush is right that it's likely that the Yelich trade will be the Brewers' equivalent of trading for Brett Favre.

Wait, is this the old vintage Perry Mason episodes, or did they reboot the series? If so, I might have to look into this. What network? Reboot on HBO as a miniseries. I believe reviews have been good. Tim Van Patten is involved, as he is with most of HBO’s really good shows.

There's a whole first season out there from 3-ish years ago that should tide you over a bit, stoutdude. Be warned that it's very, very dark, but well done.

I'll echo this- I really have enjoyed the show so far, and I'm looking forward to the next season's release in August. I re-discovered AMC's Hell on Wheels last week, and I've enjoyed working through the first two seasons so far. I remember watching the first season or two back when it came out 6-7 years ago, then I stopped for no reason I can recall. Looking forward to watching the final 3 seasons over the next couple of weeks.

Loved Boardwalk Empire. Like most shows, it was time for it to go by the end, but the fact that it had a typical HBO limited run made it so it didn’t go on too long.

For the record, I've had zero issues watching any Wisconsin sports teams with Hulu Live since we made the switch in the fall of 2018.

I'm...going to be that "guy" and add that we have had cauliflower-crust pizza, and have bought frozen cauliflower crusts and topped them ourselves. It erases the SO's carb concern and honestly tastes fine to me. The consistency is different, but it's a reasonable alternative for us. I had to go gluten free (not by choice) about a year ago, and we've managed to find some solid substitutes for crust, frozen pizzas, and delivery. Dominos actually has one of the better ones I've had.

I think Doug Melvin publically said something to this effect during his tenure. I think 'winning a trade' is something fans are bent on quantifying, but I don't think front offices are. They probably just don't want to end up having it look like a robbery down the line.

Yep, released two weeks ago to finish the series. All of the (still living) cast returned to finish it out.

Deadwood came up earlier in the thread, so I'm surprised there wasn't some talk about the (ridiculous delayed) movie to finally end the series. Obviously, the show ended too early initially for no apparent reason, so having the opportunity to truly end the series with actual resolution was nice as a fan of the show. I thought it was well done considering the circumstances, and I thought the ending fit the tone of the series despite the delay. Also, while on the topic of HBO shows, the Chernobyl miniseries was fascinating. A must-watch if you're looking for something quick this summer (only 5 episodes). Jared Harris has become one of my favorite "he's in everything and great at it" actors.

I love this point, and wanted to highlight it one more time for emphasis. This deal is atypical for a number of reasons: it's not an 'acquire a pricey, older veteran for prospects to contend' or 'dump a veteran-soon-to-be-FA for prospects' deal that make up 95% of MLB trades. It was a 'trade a young all-star with a long-term, team-friendly contract for prospects' deal that makes sense based on what both teams are trying to do. If another opportunity to make a similar trade happens next year, I'd be all over that too.

My assessment as well. Yes, the cost 'stings.' But it stings on the non-pitching prospect side, which is where we can afford to have it sting. Yelich could be a superstar heading into his prime and playing 81 games at Miller Park. Don't undervalue what we've just received. And the first point is correct as well. I'd bet nearly anything that this is the first in a string of moves. If this trade ends up being basically Santana for Yelich and Brinson/Diaz/Harrison/Yamamoto for 2 legit young, controlled arms, we win those moves pretty handily, IMO.
