    Why was Kendall setting up inside for Votto? Thats just asking for it. And Soup might need to take one for the team tonight no matter how bad it gets.

    I'm not sure about that. Gross and Durham have similar numbers vs. righties over their careers, but unlike Gross, Durham can also hit lefties. Durham has also been better this year. I agree that we could have really used Gross this season, but I'd rather have Durham on the bench.

    The atmosphere was negative even at times when the team was playing well this year. I expect it to be more negative and more embarrassing for the rest of the fan base.

    So if/when this happens is it a possibility that Lawrie, Frederickson, and Odorizzi would all start out in Appleton next year? Just thinking about it makes me giddy.

    I spend all off season counting down the days til pitchers and catchers report, so I can't drop out now. That being said, today took a lot out of me. I sat there in a daze for like ten minutes after the game.

    He's has failed to assemble an above average pen, but has gotten zero help in the form of relief prospects (which is on Zack). Here's where the Brewers pen ranks in the NL this year: ERA - 4th, OPS against - 5th, WHIP - 10th, K/9 - 12th. Obviously, its not great, but it's decent considering what our pen looked like to start the off season (CL - Turnbow). Now Doug has had some stinker moves, but he's covered for them with some great moves (acquiring Torres and Mota for basically nothing, signing Cameron, etc.).

    I think the perception that our bullpen is terrible is largely due to inopportune implosions, rather than the bullpen actually being as terrible as some make it out to be. I'd guess that are bullpen ranks somewhere around the middle of the pack, which coupled with good offense and starting pitching is good enough to make the playoffs. The drafting that has failed to develop any sort of relief pitching? It's no coincidence that Doug's perceived weakness is also Zack's perceived weakness.

    I like the move purely to limit Manny's innings. I don't think there will be much drop off either. I don't expect McClung to make it past the fifth inning, but wouldn't expect Manny to either. On a side note, I'd suspect McClung was one of the players disgusted with Yost after being moved to the pen.
