  1. Bleh. That doesn't account for the savings on the bullpens innings, CCs offensive potential, or his playoff impact. Not to mention, a total attitude shift for the franchise. Sometimes, players are more than mere stats.
  2. But seriously, do we bat CC fifth? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I want to attend at least three of his starts, and I'm guessing I'm not alone.
  3. Considering how little Rosenthal thinks of Milwaukee, that sounds like good news.
  4. I agree, I figure Mark A is looking at a two-window philosophy. You go for it now with Sheets and CC. And, if you don't make it, you have two years of basically 5 first-round picks so that 3-5 years from now you have a huge influx. It's a Marlins approach. You still have your base in Braun, Hart, Fielder, Gamel, etc for both runs. Frankly, I like that Melvin is willing to be aggressive. The whole point is making the playoffs and bringing a championship back to Milwaukee.
  5. No, I like it. It cracks me up. That 'lumps' or 'humps' song out a few years ago was worse. Was that Fergie? Oh, and there was an R&B song this year about an umbrella. Terrible
  6. Wait, are you me? I friggin loved the Sonics and Kemp in the 90s. "The Ghetto Jam is about to Slam..."
  7. I blame David Stern. He and the other owners allowed Clay Bennett to come in there and highjack the team when it was well known he wanted to move them. It's a terrible situation and I really hope for nothing but bad things for that franchise once it moves to Oklahoma.
  8. Braun, Hart, & Gallardo are probably the three untouchables.
  9. I think I just threw up in my Brewers hat a little. Either get someone good, or don't do the deal.
  10. For some reason, this statement - alone - just made me chuckle.
  11. Internships. I have hired a few interns and find it to be by far the best onboarding program available. You get experience, the employer gets to vet you. Everyone wins.
  12. Wow, you don't know how timely this thread is. We are undergoing the 'de-Nuk'ing' right now. We are slowly widdling it down to just nighttime and it's working. He doesn't even sleep with it - it's just to go to bed. I think we'll tear off the metaphorical bandaid sometime this week and just withstand a few tantrums.
  13. It is and always has been. Firefox is getting a bit more bloated and slow than I would like, but it's still a great option. Opera is also great, and Safari isn't too bad - if not a little buggy. IE is really a last resort, even if IE7 is on the path to improvement.
  14. Interesting that both reviews pointed out Romanski, who seemed like just an average pick at the time. We'll see how that turns out.
  15. Yeah, so, I don't even know how I would go about buying these shoes. I'm reasonably sure that my wife would never buy me shoes that are some type of primary color. It's those type of understandings that help a marriage along.
  16. Ooooooo, nice call. I thought he was going to tout his lovemaking during that ad. Strange stuff.
  17. Jerry Garcia and his awful recipes. And really, who shops at Piggly Wiggly? I would like to, but there are like 3 in the whole area. It's too bad that the quality has declined at Heaven City - one of the hidden treasures of southeastern Wisconsin.
  18. That's good, because you actually got a picture of Callington Mill by accident.
  19. Considering Fielder has already hit 50 home runs in a season, it's hard to argue that Hart has a higher ceiling as a hitter. But, I think Hart is a very valuable part of the puzzle that provided consistent hitting, solid defense, good speed, and great character. I'd imagine he's on our starting outfield for the next 7-8 years.
  20. Good deal, maybe there will be some Canadian pressure on Stosh once Lawrie signs.
  21. So far these are really funny. Schiltz's sounds like a dance techno album. utdfan's looks like a decent solo artist. Baldkin is our first hardcore rap album. Worm8181's probably sounds like Wilco or something - I'd listen to it.
  22. 1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. 3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days" http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. Here's mine (I'm guessing that I'm playing some smart college rock or something): Marnardal Station "but by his actions." http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3023/2549681998_449b453e41_m.jpg
  23. Lake Delton has to be the worst situation so far. That is going to kill that community. Our neighborhood had many flooded basements but we made it out okay. Just a tiny trickle. Overall though, that is the quickest I have ever seen rain accumulate. 10 inches in just a few hours !?
  24. "`They are on a short list of teams that I was hoping that I would get drafted by.''" Thank you Doug Melvin and Jack Z. I think it's true though. If I were a draft-eligible player I'd look to the Brewers as an example of an organization that is dedicated to developing young talent and getting you to the majors. A very good spot to go. How far we've come.
  25. Yes, but please use his full name "Lucas Luetge for LOOGY 2010".
