Gotta love the umps who basically make you throw it down the middle to get any call on 0-2, and who widen the zone about 6 inches on each side on 3-0. Wasn't aware that the strike zone changes by count, yet they do it. That 0-2 pitch to Renfroe wasn't even close to being a ball.

Feels like every single walk we've issued this year has come back to hurt us.

Doesn't take an expert to realize a guy with a .264 OBP in a full season of work shouldn't hit 4th on a team loaded with power. Didn't know the season was over. He also had a higher OBP in 2017 than every single player in our lineup besides Yelich and Cain, so perhaps our manager is placing him based on where he thinks he's capable of performing and not solely based on what he's done this season.

Seems to be producing where he is.. Yep. Adjusting your lineup to try to catch hot streaks is a fools' errand. Jesus has a .930+ OPS and 27 HRs this year, I'd say he's fine there. If you want to make a case for dropping Schoop, fine, but obviously they think he'll come around and I trust they know better than me on that.

I feel like Counsell and Stearns want to make sure we all know that we were wrong when we said the Moustakas trade and Shaw move to 2nd basically meant for better or worse we needed to rely on Arcia at SS every day now.

I really don't think that's the case. That would make no sense. Every game counts the same in the standings whether it's a rubber match or for the sweep, the standings go by game victories, not series victories. I've never ever gotten the sense that they've chosen to just throw in the towel and relax for the finale if they've already won the series.

I doubt he pitches meaningful innings with the big club. This is probably a guy you hope finds his command to turn into an impactful reliever. He is only 25. Exactly. He's probably headed straight to Colorado Springs, maybe gets called up in September and auditions in blowouts but that's probably it. Definitely not the worst flyer for a vacant 40 man spot.
