  1. If he hasn't figured out by now that a walk prone, HR prone pitcher is a bad option for a closer, I don't know why this would change his mind.
  2. And here's the part where he gives up a grand slam because he can't throw the curve for a strike so they just sit on the fastball.
  3. I don't want to see this head case pitching in the 9th again this year in anything other than garbage time. Just completely inexcusable.
  4. I am stunned to see that Corey is walking almost a full batter less than he was in 2017. Like it feels like that must be a mistake.
  5. Don't worry about the damn baserunner, Corey. He's meaningless.
  6. What's odd about Jennings is that coming into this year he was basically an even split lefty for his career who has developed into much more of a LOOGY this year.
  7. maybe he really is the team MVP? Maybe the lack of a trade took pressure off him? Maybe it is .450 Babip instead of .268 over the year I'm not saying you specifically but people get way too carried away with BABIP especially over a small sample size. How exactly would one even have an 11 for 25 stretch without a really high BABIP for that stretch unless they were hitting everything for a homerun?
  8. Pina has been really quietly swinging a very good bat lately (11 for his last 25).
  9. 2 outs bases empty 3-2 count to a .230 hitter with 6 homers in a 3 run game. He grooved one and Galvis ran into it, but it's probably a better pitch than walking him. Yep. I can make my peace with that a lot better than nibbling against the bottom of the order, walking 2 guys and having them cleared on a good piece of hitting double.
  10. It feels like Guerra had a really lousy day today. A lot of hits, extra basehits, too many walks, wasn't striking out anyone. Then you look up at the scoreboard and somehow see only 2 runs in 6 innings.
  11. Does anyone else use the MILB First Pitch app and have problems with it constantly crashing? I add all the Brewer affiliate teams, and sometimes it just crashes randomly, other times it's one particular team that it crashes on when I try to view them. Uninstalling and reinstalling usually fixes it but it seems I'm having to do this weekly now. Anyone else use the app?
  12. santana will enter his first arbitration year this off-season. he has burned his final minor league option this year, so there's no way the club can send him to the minors next year without trying to outright him. All the more reason he will likely be traded in the offseason.
  13. I'm rarely a fan of speaking in absolutes, but I'll go as far as saying that there's a 0.00% chance that the Brewers let him go. If he's not with the team next year it's because they traded him, and even that I'd put as a low probability because it would be selling very low. I also think there's almost no chance he'll be non-tendered, but I think the odds of him being traded in the offseason are much higher than you do. They just don't really have a spot for him anymore, and it doesn't really make much sense to pay a guy a couple million dollars in arbitration to have him sit in AAA as depth. Sucks to sell low, but we don't really have much choice as he's unlikely to regain much value the way we're going to use him anyway.
  14. They might give him a couple days, but he'll play regularly. They didn't trade for him to be a reserve. And he'll hit. Between Moose, Shaw, Arcia, Jesus, who do you bench? Same answer to that as its been all year, they all get shuffled in and all get days off periodically.
  15. Schoop will be fine. Or maybe he won't. I really don't know. But: 1) We certainly can't conclude anything for sure after 6 games, and 2) Can we maybe get behind the guy and hope he can rediscover the great success he had both last year and also just last month, because that will clearly help the team, rather than reveling in every mistake he makes so you can say "I told you so"?
  16. Broxton -. Would seem relatively certain. Good defensive sub or pinch run option late. Santana - Of course. Saladino - Another yes, versatility helps in September. Woodruff. - Yes, decent spot starter or long man. Asher - Sure, why not? If anything else keeps Perez and Kratz off the mound. Houser - Same. Hernandez - Could see him getting some work in the biggest of blowouts, not much else. So those are my 7. Don't see a big reason to call up Wilkerson, Diplan, or Orf. Nottingham should get a call too if healthy.
