  1. Glad we called up Wilkerson, really chewing up innings for us.
  2. Dumping him doesn't get the money back that we owe him, though. So unless he becomes a waste of a roster spot, which he isn't currently, he should hang around. Going forward in 2019 and 2020 I don't expect him to be much more than a guy you platoon against LHP and a bench bat. But he should be one of the better ones in baseball at that..
  3. Many of us were all over Chatwood in the offseason, and so was Theo. Stearns said nah, I'll just get a better pitcher for much less money.
  4. EDIT: Make that 5-0 How did they go from 2-1 to 5-0? Lol. Cubs just can't figure out the Reds. Chatwood is hilarious. Loaded the bases with 2 outs, then threw back to back wild pitches for 2 runs and then got the 3rd out on the next pitch.
  5. Get crushed today??? Thanks for letting us know. Isn't any other pitcher to use... NO... Woodruff was actually lined up, they chose Wilkerson because of the year he's having in AAA. 3 innings? No, he's stretched out as a starter. Sogard plays for Colorado Springs, lol. Don't have starting pitching depth? Anderson, Guerra, Chacin, Suter, Perralta, Davies, Miley, Nelson, Woodruff, Wilkerson... How many do we need? Depth we have. I don't believe Sogard plays for anybody at the moment. He doesn't play for Colorado Springs. He is still in DFA limbo and they may just move on. Yes we have a deep rotation -- just not a top heavy one.
  6. I've been hard on ol' man Brauny lately, so he's due. 3 for 4 with a HR today.
  7. Don't think Gideon is in the Brewers organization anymore.
  8. Was looking at the AL standings and its crazy how much the AL already looks like a foregone conclusion before the AS break: - The Red Sox and Yankees have 14-16 games up on the 3rd place team. One will take the division and the other a WC. - The Indians are 11.5 up on the 2nd place team -- they are winning the central. - The Astros and Mariners will likely both be playoff teams. The A's are the only team within shouting distance and are STILL 10 games out of the division and probably don't have staying power. Unlike the NL which should produce very exciting second half races, you can probably pencil in the Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Astros and Mariners as the 5 AL playoff teams and the rest may as well sell.
  9. Was there really a reason to ride him a 3rd inning the other night? As I recall, it wasn't even his best stuff. To have a pen arm unavailable for 3 games is kind of silly. Your starters are only unavailable for 4.
  10. There's been some bad luck involved this year, but he's not even been the unluckiest guy in this lineup. He's just not that good anymore. I know people have a hard time accepting it given what they were used to for his career, but yeah. He's on pace for 0.5 WAR after 1.5 last year. What more evidence is needed at this point? At best, he's probably a. 260/.320 hitter with a .750-.775 OPS type.
  11. Didn't say he's had a terrible night. Said nobody fears his bat anymore, which is true.
  12. It's pretty much as much of an impossibility as it was at the beginning of the game for several reasons, but Aguilar is a triple away from the cycle.
  13. Underrated good play by Saladino to get back to the bag with his momentum taking him away and still make a great throw.
  14. He didn't complain about the fan. He asked them to rule it fan interference which would have been an out and the runners wouldn't have moved up. Not true. The umpires can (and in all likelihood would have) awarded the run as they can award any bases that in their discretion they believe would have occurred without the interference.
  15. If Hader going 3 innings is going to mean that he won't be available the next 3 games then they should either stop using him for those long of outings or put him in the rotation. Doesn't make any sense at all to have him available in relief 25% of the time.
  16. It's been a lot of fun watching Broxton play defense this last week, but the dude still can't hit a lick. I don't know why he got back away from his stance that he used in late 2016 that he had success with.
