  1. I believe we are still undefeated, something crazy like 18-0 or 19-0, when Hader pitches in the game. Just insane, a simple stat but still one that tells you how valuable he is for us out of the pen.
  2. You could tell as soon as he went 2-0 to Shaw after walking Perez, this guy ain't hitting the zone 3 times, Shaw is going to win this if he just stands there. Really he didn't even throw 1, got a call.
  3. Good strategy by the Mets to let Sogard get on knowing it would earn him starts the rest of the series.
  4. That scared the crap out of me. I don't want to lose this, but I really don't want to get beat by cryer Flores again.
  5. Yeah normally a day you give up 2 homeruns is not going to be a good day. When they were both solos though and that's all you gave up, I'll take that.
  6. Would assume so, he is listed on both the 25 and 40 man roster on the Brewer homepage.
  7. Travis Shaw is under team control through 2021, his age 31 season. That's already perfect, not really concerned about losing him after that. If he's around past 2021, great, if not, well those are probably not going to be his best years that follow.
  8. I've noticed something about the roster construction on this team on the last few spots. When they have minor league depth not already on the 40 man roster, they seem really averse to risk losing any of it. They don't promote their own to the 40 until they absolutely have to or imminently will have to, like with Wilkerson late last year. They almost always go outside the organization to fill these spots -- examples just since the beginning of 2017 include Franklin, Webb, Asher, Saladino, Kratz, Berry, Brooks...I'm probably missing a couple. There haven't been many exceptions -- Wang and Sogard come to mind. While I get this to some extent, depth doesn't really do you any good if you never plan to use it. And from a position of making this place somewhere guys want to play, I'd like to see us give more opportunities internally. It's got to be frustrating for guys like Orf, Bethancourt, and Nick Ramirez to consistently perform well enough to earn a big league shot and be continuously bypassed by mediocre journeymen outside the organization. They always seem to want a couple 40 man spots to be completely expendable.
  9. Not referring to that last AB in particular, but he's 2 for his last 14. Not normally a huge deal of a stretch but when he was essentially benched for Sogard last time he was up, not what you'd like to see.
  10. Villar is slipping back into mediocre territory, we really need him to get it going so Sogard doesn't start stealing starts from him.
  11. Does anyone have any information on how Corey Ray's defense has looked in center this year?
  12. If the unspoken finished part to his question is "Why is Sogard on this roster over Orlando??" then I certainly get it.
  13. McCalvy confirmed that Kratz is the guy. Just makes no sense at all. We literally swapped Arcia and Bandy today for Sogard and Kratz. I thought it would be pretty tough to downgrade offensively from the two worst hitters on the team, but we managed to pull it off.
  14. I can't imagine that one of Nottingham, Bethancourt or Kratz isnt in Milwaukee right now. It would be a really bad look for the organization if something happened to Pina tonight and no backup catcher.
  15. Some want Braun as a backup against RHP. We'll see how that plays out. Yes, I'm one of those. I mean who would you bench? I'm certainly assuming not Yelich or Cain, so Aguilar or Santana? I'm not trying to start the Braun bashing again, I'm just honestly asking, what would you guys do right now? People keep waiting for Aguilar to regress, but the guy has a .940 OPS, he has a pretty compelling reason to play right now.
