  1. I love Peralta, have been high on him for awhile and today was awesome. With that said, I'm trying to keep my expectations in check going forward. I worry that the way he leaned on his fastball almost exclusively isn't going to be a long-term recipe for success. Someone please tell me why I'm wrong, because I really do want to think we've found our next ace.
  2. This. Jesus at first. And what in the world is a break even pitch - I’ve heard that only on Brewers telecasts... it’s nails on a chalkboard to me It'll go away once BA comes back. It's Matt Lepay's thing for some reason.
  3. Absolutely should happen, absolutely Won’t. I’d drop him to 8th in the batting order and leave the P 9th because you need someone to get on for the top of the order... Just 2 and a half more years that we have to try to hide him on the roster....
  4. Good grief Braun. Just awful. Should have been moved down in the order easily by now. On the plus side, Shaw follows up with a bomb.
  5. All too often this team will get an extra base hit to lead off an inning only for him to be left standing there at the end of it. Meat of the order, bottom of the order, seems to make no difference. Poor job.
  6. Blow up for 11 one night and get blanked the next day. Such a predictable Brewer thing to do.
  7. Let's pump the brakes on Perez a bit. Yes he's had a nice 2 games, but it's 2 games. He is still exactly the same player he has always been who will hit around .260 and carry an OBP not much higher than that because he can't draw a walk to save his life. My point, by all means keep him in as long as he's swinging a good bat, but if he's your starter at 2nd you're definitely always in the market for a starting 2nd baseman.
  8. I know he still has his big fans here, and I get it, but that guy and his .274 OBP do not belong at #3 where he continues to hit every single night.
  9. Get your pitcher and leadoff guy on with no one out and 2/3 coming up and come up empty. Disappointing.
  10. I'm just a little surprised they went Barnes over Williams, both put in pretty heavy workloads yesterday. No real issue though, Barnes has some things to work on right now. I get that he's much better than Drake but they never had the flexibility to option down Drake. Barnes they do.
  11. Perez snuck one through 3B and SS for a single. Pina came up, hit it just well enough opposite field, hit the top of the fence and went over. Jeffress came on and did his thing. Top of 10 I dont remember the sequence exactly but Saladino had a hit and Shaw had the big 2 out single against the lefty for the eventual winning run. Then Hader did his thing in the 10th, game over.
  12. Am I the only one that thinks that Santana hasn’t looked horrible defensively this year? Like, better than last year anyway?
  13. It’s sweet having a LOOGY who can’t retire a lefty. Hasn’t retired a single one of the first 3 he’s faced.
  14. Villar was probably our last hope. Had a chance. Really lost this game in the 4th with Barnes.
