  1. I wish they had showed the check swing by Forsythe on replay. I think he went.
  2. Villar with 4 Ks and booted a double play. Aguilar 4 Ks and booted a routine foul pop. Hard to imagine worse days for either.
  3. Unsurprising result. Well onto extras, and I don't have the record in front of me but it feels like we've been terrible in extras this year.
  4. If your job is to be the board dick, you deserve a raise... People on here burned Feliz at the stake and he was 8 of 9'in save situations. I'm all for Knebel but he's 4 of 7. It ain't good man. Save situations are a crap stat for predictive performance. Given 30 save opportunities for each , who among Knebel and Feliz would you expect to convert more the rest of the way?
  5. You know the answer to this. Not sure why you're asking. Just pointing out that some players get a lot harsher attitudes towards than others. Yes, absolutely. Very good players tend to get less harsh attitudes and more tolerance and crappy players get harsher attitudes and less patience.
  6. You know the answer to this. Not sure why you're asking. Knebel has been awesome this year and people understand that he's not going to be perfect every outing. As you have told me they have major league players on the other side as well. Villar has been a pretty bad player this year and has therefore been subject to more criticism than Knebel. Pretty simple.
  7. I know you have nothing to lose here but this challenge is just a waste of time.
  8. Old man Adrian Gonzalez. Sucks against the rest of the league, walks into Miller Park and it's like he drank from the freaking fountain of youth.
  9. I don't think anyone hates the guy, but he needs to give us a reason to like him again. It;'s been a miserable, disappointing season, and it isn't like it is the 2nd week of the season, he has sucked since day one. Forgive us for expecting our 2B to make plays that 100% of all other MLB 2B would make. It is becoming habitual, and tiring. Celebrating him making the next routine play is a bit funny imo. Chase Utley booted an easy ball a half inning before. It happens. And there is hatred. The guy could play well for a month and make a base running error and the pitch forks would come right back out. It's craziness. Does Chase Utley have an established reputation for making big mental mistakes in key late game situations? If Villar plays well for a month and a half, I will give him his just due, trust me. I would like very much for him to play well for a month and a half. No one is rooting for him to fail.
  10. Baez has served up fastballs right doen to the middle to Broxton and Aguilar, looked like they had holes in their bats.
  11. C'mon man, give me a break. Villar has been horrible this year. Are you really going to blame people for being frustrated with him? It's June, not April. I spent all of April defending Villar. Even Rock was highly annoyed at JV for not making the play. It's a key situation, Nelson has pitched a gem, and it was hit right to him. You act like people are just irrationally hating on Villar. Uh no, they're hating on Villar for being a sub .600 OPS player with a reputation for defensive gaffes in key situations. And then you want to give him a big ol' pat on the back for doing his job and properly fielding a ball that he should properly field 9 times out of 10. Have we really dropped our expectations that much for him?
  12. Great outing for Nelson, but you give the ball to Knebel in the 9th now. IMO.
  13. Wow, I am not going to lie, I was sure he was going to screw up that one too. Hat's off to you JV for doing your job on that one.
  14. Anyone have any doubt in their mind in that split second that the ball was headed to Villar that he was going to screw up the tailor made double play?
  15. Why do teams put in bench guys for starters just to sac bunt?
  16. They won't, and he's probably not even warm but frankly I'd put in Knebel now. Not so much worried about him instantly dying as I am him leaving another hanging slider up and end up losing this game before we even get to the 9th.
  17. That's all on Aguilar. That's his ball, call off Pina and get in there and catch it. Then to make matters worse if you're not going to do that, get the hell out of the way and let Pina make the play which he would have. Good job by Jimmy working out of it. Would hate to lose a game on something like that.
  18. Call that, Aguilar! Absolutely need to come up with that.
  19. Sure looked to me like Santana should have been able to come up and make a play on that. But the way Nelson is dealing maybe the right move not to chance it.
  20. Might need to keep it scoreless all the way into extras to have a chance today.
