    I’m really glad we beat the Cubs. I hoped so much this would finally be the year we went to the World Series. It is just not going to happen.

    Yeah. We are not heading to LA down 2-0 and winning this series.

    They still had some of the same major pieces that they have now. It’s not like they were fielding an AAA team in July. In any event, I’m just saying the team needs to have some faith, some confidence that they can make this a series. We can’t just throw up our hands and say they’re too good.

    Something big needs to happen to help us remember that we can beat these guys and how we did it 8 times in a row. Right now I think we feel like the Davids to their Goliaths and it’s in our head. They say all the right things, but I don’t know if we believe that we can win.

    Drilling the #9 hitter for the top of the Dodger order seems like a bold strategy.

    You’re not wrong. Maybe this will be a turning point of some changes to competitive balance rules in MLB.

    The Dodgers lineup is loaded from top to bottom. We have Caleb Durbin, Joey Ortiz and Playoff Yeli.

    Is the Brewer clubhouse really going to have its morale shaken if Yelich sits the next time he faces Snell? The way he is hitting the ball? I don’t care how long you’ve been here and how much respect you have in the clubhouse. You have to perform to play.

    Quintana, Uribe, Miz, Megill, Ashby… hell I’d say anyone but Priester. It’s the NLCS. They’re all available if it comes down to it.

    Yeah I hope so. I’m not saying he’s definitely just not a postseason guy, but we’ve really never seen him be one, either.

    I know this is going to be a controversial question , but does Yelich absolutely have to start every day? Even against tough lefties? I like the Jansen idea against Snell.

    I’m really nervous about Freddy facing Ohtani and Freeman several times tonight. Hope we can get a clean start.

    4 times in base in 18 PA is a .222 OBP. That definitely seems like the definition of black hole to me. It’s not an absolutely huge deal to me, though I’d prefer Mona, but unfortunately we did not do anything to improve our SS situation in July and so now we are stuck with who we have. I hope that’s not the status quo for 2026, but that’s a conversation for another day. I'd start with Mona, see if you can get a spark and if he doesn’t show much the first couple ABs, you can easily go to the bench and then put Ortiz in to where he probably only needs to see one AB tonight. I expect they’ll probably start Ortiz anyway, and I hope it is not Blake and Ortiz back to back.

    Sure, they look super close if you’re going to only include their career numbers and not look at the entire picture including the context of how they’ve both played this season. If career numbers were the only piece of information that mattered, Rhys Hoskins would be on the playoff roster and no one would be penciling in Andrew Vaughn and Jake Bauers into the lineup tonight.

    Ortiz has a .368 OPS in the preseason. That’s pitcher level bad. It’d be one thing if he had a strong regular season track record to fall back on to assume he’ll get it going, but he doesn’t. The last four games have produced 1, 3, 0, and 3 runs, respectively. I understand that run prevention is a big part of this team but none of that matters if you can’t score.

    Guess I’m not sure what you mean by poor scheduling? You just mean unfortunate circumstance? We had to throw everything at the wall to try to beat the Cubs. It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t line things up the way we wanted, but the Dodgers clinched before we did and had more time. It is what it is.

    Yeah… to be honest, we had no business winning last night, we were outplayed in about every way. Tonight is pretty big, so hopefully we can start swinging the bats. Any victory would do but a resounding 6-2 win or something would inspire some confidence heading to L.A.

    Monasterio started 3 games against the Dodgers this year. The Brewers gave up a total of 7 runs in those 3 games. We were fine. Remember when Ortiz missed the last half of August? Can anyone recall off the top of their head anything that went totally wrong at SS? Contrary to popular belief, the infield defense of the Brewers does not completely cease to function with Monasterio in for Ortiz.

    They won’t do this, but I’d like: 1 - CF Frelick 2 - RF Chourio 3 - LF Bauers 4 - C Contreras 5 - DH Yelich 6 - 1B Vaughn 7 - 3B Durbin 8 - 2B Turang 9 - SS Monasterio
