  1. Jason Kendall for Brewers MVP? Bill, please just stop.
  2. Okay, I'm going to dive into the world of "hypothetical" here. Let's say that we got into the playoffs, Yo was good to start and stretched his arm out to throw 100+ pitches by the NLCS. We have CC, Sheets, and Gallardo pitching in our rotation, and we go on to win the World Series. The irony is that we would look back at Gallardo's injury and note that if it weren't for Gallardo getting hurt, we never would have traded for CC, and never would have had the 3 headed monster that took us all the way. We would look back and say that if Gallardo hadn't torn his ACL, we wouldn't have won the World Series. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I'm paying attention to the Phils. If the Nat's can somehow play spoiler and take 2 out of 3 in Philly, hey, I'll be completely thrilled. The more "outs" we can give ourselves, the better. It's just not very likely. The Marlins/Mets give us our best shot.
  4. Just seeing his name up there as the starter tonight is awesome. I wonder what his pitch limit will be. Since he last threw a 75 pitch simulated outing, I would guess he'll be cut off at 80-90 pitches, depending on how things are going. If he could give us 5 solid innings, I would be thrilled. I also wonder if this theoretically means he would be a playoff starter now. I'm not that nervous about how he's going to throw, I'm a little nervous about what he's going to do when Nyjer Morgan lays down a bunt and he has to field it, or when he makes contact and has to run down to first base.
  5. Marquis really killed that rally with the GS.
  6. Cripes, grand slam for Marquis. And unfortunately, I'm delighted to see it.
  7. I can't believe I'm sitting here watching the Cubs cheering for them to win. I feel so ashamed.
  8. I don't think they're that stupid. That said, I don't see what the point is of picking up Cameron's option.
  9. I'm at this big, big building in Milwaukee. The entertainment here is really crappy and the beers are $6.50 each. Am I living the high life?
  10. Someday, Dale Sveum is going to bounce his grandson on his knee and tell him about the time that he was a Major League Baseball manager for 12 days.
  11. If Hardy didn't make 3rd on that, I was going to nominate him for World's Slowest Man.
  12. Not that anyone really seems to care anymore, but our entire season pretty much comes down to this inning. If we don't come back here, we're probably not going to touch Cordero with the bottom of our order in the 9th, and this loss with CC on the mound pretty much puts a dagger in our season.
  13. I'd rather not roll the dice on high risk/reward veteran relievers that were once good, and count on them to hold leads. That didn't work out very well this year. The entire bullpen really need to be revamped. I don't see many of the same faces being back. Torres will have his option picked up, and Riske will probably be back. Other than that, why?
  14. Gagne practicing for his new job after this season.
  15. This team has no business being in the postseason. None.
  16. Cameron's second pop-up with a man on 3rd and 1 out. Way to come through Cam.
  17. Does he have any previous experience coaching 3rd base? Does he whirl his arm to signal "stop" and put his hands up to signal "go"? Because it seems like he has made the incorrect call in every situation that's he been required to make a decision. (clarified thread title --1992)
  18. It would be nice to see Rivera get another start or two down the stretch with as good as he's been this year. Unfortunately, it sounds like he has been told not to expect another start. For whatever reason, Svuem and Yost think that Kendall is the Johnny Bench of the 21st century.
  19. How much do you want to bet we're going to see shrugs and crap excuses like, "We're a young team," at seasons end? It's not just the young guys choking down the stretch. It's the vets, too. (Cameron, Counsell, Torres, Suppan)
  20. Is this roadtrip the fans fault, Corey? Were you thinking about the boos of the 40,000 in Milwaukee when you were in Philly?
  21. I guess he's not our next MLB manager. http://milwaukee.brewers....mp;fext=.jsp&c_id=mil
