  1. Unfortunately he is one Murphy’s preseason favorites. He just gushed about him, said he’s going to be huge for us. I hope that has nothing to with how long his leash will be but it may.
  2. I mean, Pratt makes that play too. It’s just that Hamilton sucks.
  3. Isn’t Pratt’s glove at SS considered best of the best?
  4. If that’s the case, to be fair they can’t typically name more than 5 of their own guys.
  5. Hamilton can still be optioned, though. They’re big believers in roster flexibility.
  6. Yes. It’s a little bit insulting to both your opponents and to your own players to suggest otherwise.
  7. No, just because a lot of people predicted the Cubs to win the division (which could obviously still happen) doesn’t mean the Brewers are being overlooked, disrespected, and “no one knows our names.” It just means the division is very strong and only one team can win it.
  8. I don’t understand it at all. The Brewers have been a highly successful organization for basically the last decade now. We are years past the point of playing the scrappy underdog card. There are at least 5 Brewers on the current roster with All-Star level talent (Turang, Contreras, Yelich, Chourio, Miz). That is without even counting others who have already been in one, like Woodruff and Megill, and other dark horse candidates like Ashby and Harrison. It doesn’t come across as motivational and inspiring. It comes across as a little disparaging to the guys who keep getting you back here.
  9. Murph can we pretty please not do the “awww shucks we’re just a bunch of average guys nobody knows us” thing again this year. I assure you, people do know who Jacob Misiorowski is, who Brice Turang is, who William Contreras is, who Christian Yelich is, etc.
  10. Brice is quietly going through a bit of an extended slump; fortunately other guys are picking him up. Hopefully he’ll be returning the favor before long.
  11. PCA is professionally a hell of a baseball player while personally he seems like a giant doucheflute.
  12. Surprising. That’s the disadvantage of being down to 1 challenge early. You get gunshy.
  13. I understand they really want to try to push Sproat over the hump. But today isn’t the day.
  14. As much as I’d like him to prove otherwise, until he can, Sproat is a 4 inning guy.
  15. As crazy as this may sound, at age 29 Justin Turner was exactly replacement level for his career. Not saying Bauers will follow the same trajectory, just that there is precedent for late bloomers.
  16. Justin Turner is probably the best example. Nelson Cruz.
  17. So good to see Sal come through with a big 2 out hit.
  18. What does it take to earn Rengifo a DFA? He is the sole reason we haven’t broken this game open.
  19. Yeah, I mean Jackson has some things he could work on. I’d like him to be a little bit less of a free swinger. But I mean, come on, the guy just turned 22 and has a 115 career OPS and has already been worth 6.6 WAR in his young career. And again, he just turned 22. When you look at some of the best homegrown Brewers over the last couple decades, Prince, Braun, Hardy, etc, Chourio is far ahead of where any of them were at age 22. When Braun debuted he was nearly two years older than Jackson is now. Chourio isn’t Acuña, not yet, but he’s so far down on the list of problems with this team.
  20. Is Yelich just toast as an outfielder for all time? I mean, I know he’s been the regular DH for quite some time, but it wasn’t that long ago that he was at least a passable corner OFer. I just can’t believe that his defense has become such a liability that Jake Bauers is the preferred option.
  21. Horrible 0-2 mistake pitch right down the middle and Sal pops it right up. The Brewers had to fall all over themselves to lose this game and managed to do just that.
  22. Sal, it is the 9th inning. CHALLENGE IT.
  23. I don’t know how Yelich can have such a beautiful swing in some ABs and look like he has a hole in his bat in others within the same game.
