On paper, Lara is going to be a better version of Perkins at just about everything. He’s a gold glove caliber CFer in his own right. He hits for more power. He can run. He’s a switch hitter like Perkins, so R/L isn’t the issue either. Is he not up because the Brewers don’t believe he can offer what Blake Perkins is doing for them right now, or is he not up because the Brewers think he’s an important piece of their future and don’t want to stunt his development by having him come up to mostly sit?

I don’t care how much longer Yelich is out for. Its hard to win games when you stack the back half of your lineup every day with players that simply can’t hit and mix in guys like Blake Perkins.

You can’t put yourself in a situation where Blake Perkins is your leadoff man in a tie game in the 9th.

I’d guess he hits as well. It’s gross, but the situation doesn’t really call for Sanchez yet, and the only other option is Ortiz. Sticking with Vaughn probably should have been plan A.

That was a pretty big bat to take out of the lineup for absolutely no pinch running benefit. He wasn’t even in scoring position.

Hard to think a Sal Frelick AB this year that didn’t end in massive disappointment. There haven’t been many.
