  1. Hate to root for Detroit today, but I definitely am.
  2. It’s half the distance to the goal, never half the distance of a penalty (unless coincidentally the same)
  3. Correct, meaning after the half the distance penalty the ball should have been spotted at the 5-6, not the 3. That’s a big difference at that area of the field in breathing room and what you can do with your offense.
  4. I wondered that as well. Did they seriously forget where they were supposed to spot the ball? And why wasn’t our sideline all over it?
  5. Does Rick Bisaccia, at any point during the week, in any week, ever address his punt return team and say, “hey. We should do something about all these punt return penalties.”?
  6. LOL, that is an absolutely wild take (not your take, I know). Even if the Packers didn’t have a tie it would be a wild take. This is not a non-conference college football game.
  7. That’s just such a terrible playcall on 3rd and half a yard.
  8. Lol, Campbell finally tries to just take the points on 4th and 4 in FG range and his kicker misses.
  9. I mean if you believe that you’re fine to express that, too. I trust our front office. I don’t have a problem trading Collins. I thought he had more value than this. All of those things are just my opinion.
  10. Why can’t we just say, “I don’t like it on the surface, but we will have to see what happens because this front office has been correct more often than wrong?” I don’t think anyone has taken a position that is contrary to that. Why do we need to go out of our way to make it sound like we like it?
  11. “Open to looking at Angel Zerpa as starter” seems like a little bit of a leap from “cheap controlled rotation piece.” We don’t know if he will be in the rotation let alone if he will succeed there.
  12. I’ve been on long enough to also remember when you thought Jhoulys Chacin had solid value shortly before he got DFA’ed. ;) We all miss sometimes. Anyway, it’s fair to say Wiemer was worth nothing, so if I missed, that’s fine. 🤷‍♂️ My thought process on that one was more though that Montas had no real value.
  13. I’m not disagreeing with any of the logic. And I can’t say that the FO hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt. If someone had proposed this exact deal two days ago in the transaction proposals forum, they would have been roasted. Collins’ control and vast surplus value would have been cited as a reason for the hard no. I'm just saying — I’ve been on this board long enough to know — if we had traded an underperforming lefty reliever for a decent reliever and a switch hitting 2.1 WAR outfielder who finished 4th in ROTY voting last year, has options and control — we would all be absolutely ecstatic right now. I think we all know that to be true.
  14. Baddoo getting anything more than an occasional IL call up would be disastrous. Lockridge and Perkins are just guys. Nice 4th and 5th outfielders, but there’s nothing else there. Mitchell is the only possible answer outside of a trade. Seems like hoping for a miracle for him to stay healthy, though.
  15. If this trade were in reverse we would be absolutely raving about getting 5 years of control of Collins.
  16. Awfully light return. Wow did Collins go from a valued cog and ROY frontrunner to a guy we just wanted to dump in a hurry.
  17. Denver can get after the QB better than any team in the NFL. Bad matchup for us. Bad matchup for anyone. None of that is me saying this isn’t a winnable game. Denver is beatable in many ways, still. But we need to keep Jordan on his feet.
  18. I absolutely remember that one well. I was watching with two buddies and before the snap I told them, “we’re going for the home run on the first play.”
  19. OKC is so good it’s not even fair. They will win 70, they will probably set an NBA record, they will win multiple championships. And they will pick top 5 next year.
  20. So kinda like the football Badgers every year, the dance being “a bowl game.”
  21. This is actually not a terrible year to just tank. Amazingly, we should get our own 1st round pick. All we have to do is not be worse than New Orleans to keep our 1st (otherwise we get theirs), and they have 3 wins.
  22. Count me in as the “who gives a crap about the handshake.” It was freezing. They see each other again in 2 weeks. No one got disrespected or snubbed. There was no reason for anything more than a “good game” and move on.
  23. I would have hated to blame the game on the officiating because there would obviously have been numerous reasons for the loss. But they were really bad today and it was about 90% Bears/10% Packers.
