  1. I can understand more why Patrick to the bullpen has some legs. They’ve got to improve this pen.
  2. Yep. When Andujar got on, Bogaerts was the guy he had to get. Can’t walk him there. Can’t happen.
  3. This is one of those losses that happen because you have guys like Joey Ortiz in your starting lineup that always come up with the bases loaded.
  4. Chourio took a hanging slider right down the middle and then hacked at a pitch a foot high.
  5. Terrible pitching from Uribe. Blew an absolute gem. You had to go after Boegarts.
  6. That was kind of an iffy decision to send him back out for the 8th anyway. I get that he’s your ace, but it is is May. Ironically Miz seems like the one starter he has that he is always willing to throw caution to the wind on pitch count.
  7. I get the idea of trying to get yourself in scoring position with 2 outs… but that was not a great decision.
  8. Big HR for Mauricio Dubon against the Cubs tonight. Remember when he was just kind of a B prospect in the Brewer system? He’s ended up having a nice little career in the bigs.
  9. Somewhere out there some idiot in San Diego is saying “tie goes to the runner.”
  10. Why even have replay if that isn’t overturned? Unbelievable.
  11. Two divisions in baseball have two winnings teams. Three others have just one. The NL Central has five. 😳
  12. 23-16 and the big boys are all back. I think operation “just hang in there for 6 weeks” was a success.
  13. Yup. They could put out Zerpa on the 60 day IL, add Lara to the 40 man roster, and option him up for Mitchell anytime they want to.
  14. When you’re striking out nearly 40% of the time you need to make that catch.
  15. I get that you don’t want to give up a leadoff triple but didn’t it seem like Frelick had a play on that? Felt like he waited back on it forever.
  16. And that was such a classic David Hamilton hit, lol.
  17. Such a Sproat outing. Pitches so well for the most part but some bad things at some bad times.
  18. You bring up a good point, with Lara it’s easy to forget that he’s actually only 21, still quite young for his level. So it’s not like there’s not still some room for growth and development and not really any reason to rush him unless we get into an outfield pinch. Some of the current outfielders could stand to step it up, though.
  19. I would anticipate that being a good month away and don’t think they’ll rush it at all with no real urgent reason to right now. In fact if it ends up being longer than the month I can see them holding off until the AS break.
  20. No doubt that Mitchell and Frelick both have to be better, no matter what order you want to list them in. Among our starters, they’re the two that stand out. Ortiz is Ortiz, but we kind of already knew that. Frelick and Mitchell we expect and need more from the bat. It is a wonder that we were able to get by without Chourio as long as we did.
  21. It is interesting how dramatic the splits are for Perkins. He’s a much better hitter as a RHB both for his career but especially this season, he has yet to get a hit as a lefty. Also not sure what the circumstances were that Perkins decided to bat RH against RHP but apparently he has done so 5 times in his career and albeit in a small sample he went 1 for 3 with a double, walk and sac fly. Perhaps he would be better served just exclusively batting RH. Also I think what you’re seeing is less anti-Perkins and more people excited about Lara and ready for him to get a shot.
  22. The 1 HR is what is pretty alarming to me. I figured the strikeouts would be plentiful, but I thought if healthy he’d have as much pop as anyone in the lineup.
  23. If we get swept in the World Series by the Yankees I will not look at this season as a disappointment.
  24. You guys win, I never saw anything to expect more than a glove first average starting 2B. I definitely didn’t see a lefty Nico Hoerner. The somber reality is that we are going to lose him in 2-4 years, so maybe they really do feel they’ve found another one in Pratt.
