  1. Nice rip by Ortiz. Now let’s see what Turang can do and try to predict which side of the infield that Yelich will feebly ground out to.
  2. When you top out at 92, command is all you have. If you lose it, you might as well be throwing BP.
  3. An 8:40 pm first pitch ? did… did the schedule makers forget that it’s the 4th of July?
  4. To be fair, not all functioning adults with jobs and children have the luxury of staying up until 1 am.
  5. Cannot even tell you how sick I am of Slappy Yelich.
  6. I agree. I don’t know if he will actually do it, though.
  7. Vaughn should not be sitting everyday for this overpaid scrub. At least he advanced the runners.
  8. Big time. It was a pretty inevitable regression. He’s no Miz.
  9. Harrison hasn’t been all that impressive lately.
  10. Of course it’s going to end up mattering that Mitchell got robbed, isn’t it?
  11. Yeah I am fine with this. I don’t expect he’s going to do much with the bat this year and maybe not even next. Neither could the guys he replaced. So whatever, take your lumps with him and be patient with the bat since you know he’s going to be here for a long time and you know the glove plays.
  12. Really? My expectations are/have mostly been limited to the glove, at least for now.
  13. I can’t imagine how good this team would be a good hitting SS and/or 3B.
  14. Mitchell is on fire. Finally healthy and being who we hoped.
  15. Who will have the better MLB career: Fischer or Adamczewski?
  16. Cape Verde is still most likely going to lose but this is pretty incredible.
  17. If they beat Belgium, you could definitely go into the matchup with Spain relaxed and feeling like you’re playing with house money and content with whatever happens (although a competitive game within a goal would be really nice to see). I don’t think a lot of casual soccer fans have true context of how hard it to beat a truly superior team in the World Cup. The better team is going to control possession most of the game. It usually takes the perfect storm of events — great goalie play along with numerous near misses and other luck that just keep a game at 0-0 or 1-1 and then keeping it there until late and hoping to be the first one to break through. Kind of like Cape Verde tying Spain.
  18. It hurts. I don’t think it takes them from a coin flip to out of it completely. It’s an 11 on 11 game so there’s a little more dilution. Even short handed 10 on 11 we were 1-0 against Bosnia, not that Bosnia is Belgium. It’s not the Bulls without Jordan or even the Packers without Love bad.
  19. It’s hard to believe it’s been 6+ years since he signed that. I am honestly not sure that the modern day Milwaukee Brewers would have done that same contract at that time. I think their understanding of value and the way they protect their capital has evolved some just in the last 6 years.
  20. Watching him is about just as much fun so I guess the feeling is mutual.
