    At least he would have been easily correct. Can’t say I blame him, there’s a few of these umpires who won’t grant it if you’re making the move to your helmet a split second after they call the pitch.

    Uh, wrong. Regional broadcasters are partial to their home team across the board in literally every professional sport for every professional team and it’s not an unprofessional thing, it’s their home market.

    Imagine going back to early June and telling a Brewer fan that we’d have more confidence in Gasser than Harrison to hand the ball to in a playoff game.

    Pat - it’s now September and Yelich’s season OPS is in the .600s. He also has less HRs than our rarely used backup catcher. It's over for him, man.

    Man last night sucked. It’s not even the loss. It’s one loss, who cares. The bigger issue is the uncertainty of whether Harrison is going to be a useful postseason pitcher for us or not. That’s the worst that came out of last night.

    Naylor has been beyond dreadful offensively this year, so I can’t see him getting many ABs. He may start a game … in late September once all seeding is locked and there is nothing to play for. I think this probably more of a way to get Sanchez a little more involved against LHP without risk. The deal with the Cardinals has been a real dud so far so I hope Romero can be a real asset out of the pen and help us feel better about it.

    No but you’re taking him out of his routine right now which is to pitch once every 6-7 days. Of course he isn’t really giving us any innings on that routine anyway so if he could pitch more effectively by coming out every 3-4 days and give us 2-3 strong innings where you’re not asking him to eat up a bunch of innings, I’d take it.

    Pitching is almost never as lasting and consistent as people want it to be. People were penciling Quinn Priester into our rotation for the next 5 years a year ago. Now there’s the question of if he’ll ever be that guy again. People penciled in Eric Lauer long term. People were calling Harrison a 1/2 and Cy Young candidate back in May. Consistent year to year starters are harder to find than we want to believe when it’s May and Harrison is blowing hitters away. That’s part of the reason that Freddy Peralta was a lot better than we want to give him credit for, even if he hasn’t had success this season.

    He reminds me of a lefty Patrick sometimes the way he just looks like he’s laboring so hard out there. Maybe he’d be better served coming out of the pen where he just rock and fire for an inning or two and doesn’t have to pace himself for the long outing he won’t have anyway, Kind of late in the season to try to reinvent him now, though.

    If his diminished velocity continues it is absolutely a concern. If he goes out in a playoff series against the Cubs or Dodgers sitting 91-93 with his fastball, he is going to get crushed.

    If Turang doesn’t find his way toward some level of offensive competence by October we are not going anywhere.

    People were saying three months ago that if we acquired Skubal he’d be our 3 behind Harrison which is a massive joke.

    The 21 year old that we signed to an 8 year extension was finally starting to figure things out and Murphy really said “nah it’s summer of Sal” and benched him for a replacement level player.

    It’s only one game but this game is the worst of the season. Not close.
