Sigh. I post, then they score 4 points in 8 minutes. Taylor has a horrible half and they are still up 5. It just seems like he was trying to do too much that half. Also, I wish Bruiser would, y'know, do something on offense.

And for the other "good guys" Taylor Gasser Brusewitz Evans Berggren --------- Anyway, good to see Carlos back in CF where he always belongs.

Bucky coming out shooting the lights out.... except for JT. The way they have played the last month, I can really see them making a run in the tourney, depending on their matchups.

I am sure the team has the option of accepting the damaged goods. The Bucks could've traded Redd's expiring deal when he was out with his knee injuries.

We only have 8 players and decide to play with just two OF's. Or decide to go softball style and play 5IF the whole game. Those are the only two options.

This won't effect the people coming from downtown. It will effect the people coming in from Madison and all points west. As someone who drives this route regularly right now, it will definitely effect anyone going to the games on a weeknight. Even now, traffic is almost at a stand still from 4-7 pm, backed up to the I45 interchange on a regular basis. My advice, if you're late, get off on HWY100 and take Blue Mound the rest of the way.

Carlos Gomez, who might be the best defensive OF in baseball, not playing CF when he plays? Sigh.

I could also see them sending Estrada to AAA to start, and keeping him stretched out, instead of wasting him in the mop up role. It depends on Marcum's (and the rest of the staff's) health situation, and if they really want to keep Parra, Dillard and De La Cruz.

Were they going into the first deck? I know a lot of straight back foul balls end up in the 2nd deck (power pitchers vs RHB's, they usually end up in the Kohl's family section) at Miller Park. And seriously, thanks for the writeup. I've only been to 8 parks (hoping to add two more to the list this year), and always appreciate hearing the unique and overall features from an unbiased perspective.

    30 days. Thirty. Awesome.

They definitely have. It's easy to forget they were in first place in July last year, before their wheels came off. They were then 16 games back when the Brewers finished their series in Pittsburgh just 6 weeks later. Why must these teams get good GMs, can't they just keep being incompetent? At least we'll still have the Astros to beat up on... oh wait.... we won't.

Good 'ole Ned. Planning to start YuniB 3-4 times a week.

Honest question from a non-draft geek: With the new CBA being what it is, doesn't it take away a lot of the leverage these draft picks had, and force them to negotiate and sign earlier than they otherwise would? Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't a team suddenly be "out of money" to sign a pick if they signed a bunch of other guys? With the revenue cap as well, shouldn't they sign for less/slot money much more easily?

Considering it's also the 30 year anniversary of Yount's MVP, it would've been cool to have a 'dual mvp' bobble of the two of them.

At most they go with 7 bullpen arms, 3 of which are locked up for sure with Ax, KRod and Loe, which leaves 4 spots for: Parra, Braddock, McClendon, De La Cruz, Dillard, Kintzler, Estrada, Veras. Dillard, De La Cruz, Parra, McClendon and Veras don't have any options remaining.

If they don't, at the very least, trade Ersan in the next 10 days, I will give up as a Bucks fan until Kohl sells the team.

I love it, because it makes winning the division more valuable. Not having to play that 1 game playoff is huge.
  18. Baldkin
Why? So a worse hitter can lead off? Casey McGehee OPS'd about .600 last year in the 5-spot and the team functioned just fine.
  19. Baldkin
Yep. .229 career hitter, .305 career OBP. .733 career OPS. That OPS is higher than any Craig Counsell posted, aside from 1 year, since 2001. Compared to Nady's .659 OPS over the last three years, Conrad's is a breath of fresh air.

My neighbor deciding to play Ozzy and Pink Floyd at 4am, loud enough that you can hear it both in the entire hallway, through the walls, and the bass is vibrating things on my desk. I knocked on the door. Knocked on the wall. I called the police they refuse to do anything at 4am. Good 'ole dirty stallis. All I want is sleep.

The one time guys KNOW they will be tested is during the playoffs. That is precisely when he would NOT be shooting up.
  23. Baldkin
According to Dan Patrick yesterday, DP said that in order to get the ratio of testosterone in his system that he got, he basically would've had to been told he'd be tested, then go shoot himself up just before peeing in the cup. Yep. Crazy.

For that to take away 100 ABs, it would have to happen in every game they were winning AND the player would have to come up in the next inning. Usually this is a strategy the manager would use when up in the 9th, and (hopefully) double switching with the pitcher due up in the 10th or something. I say usually, because I still don't trust RRR to make the right decision on this sort of thing ever. 4 or 5 times last year he didn't double switch with Axford when he brought in a defensive replacement.
