  1. Rickie has also had trainers, physical therapists and others helping him to properly rehab through the entire process, and I'm sure he's done his rehab on a regular basis. Something most people who end up with nagging pain or weakness from injuries don't have.
  2. This is old, but I think it still works.
  3. I expect he'll hit around .300, OBP 60ish points higher than that, and slug a bit over .400. Also, he is going to wow some people with his defense at 1B and make a lot of people realize how bad Prince really was with the glove.
  4. Between Kottaras and Conrad, they have more power on the bench then they've had the last 4 seasons. Not to mention Green if he makes the roster.
  5. That said... I think Yost would have been a far superior option to Macha in the 2009-2010 timeframe. Macha screwed things up with JJ Hardy, IMO. Had Yost been kept on, the Brewers would still have had an All Star shortstop. JJ Hardy screwed things up with JJ Hardy. It took him being run out of two cities to actually get back into shape and work on his game again.
  6. Alrighty... Evans- Great player, but takes too many 15-18 footers, which are the worst shots in college hoops. Just take a 3.Brust - Hits the open 3, but still doesn't know to pump fake and drive to the hoop. If he gets that, he'll be amazing.Taylor - His ability to control the ball and not turn it over is amazing. The problem is, Even now, when the shot clock gets to 15, the team will stand around and watch him, and he isn't good enough to go 1v2. Last thought- I wish Bo would try Bergerren and Kominski at the same time. Go big on someone. Just once.
  7. What he did last year, when for 2/3 of the season he could barely lift his dominant hand over his shoulder was incredible. Had he played anywhere but Milwaukee and done that, he would've been heralded as the toughest guy in the NBA. Instead, no one talks about it. I love the guy, but he isn't part of the future, so if they can get a first rounder for him.... they should take it.
  8. I see this sentiment a lot, can you expound on it? He has a career .363 OBP against RHP, it was .370 last season. Really, with Prince gone, no one on the team gets on base better vs RHP.
  9. Can your iphone play any mp3 as a ring tone? If you have editing skills, (pretty easy to figure out, using audacity), you can cut the clip down to size, add it to your itunes library, and then put it on your iphone for easy access.
  10. You're forgetting the Wil Nieves and Erick Almonte experiments. Kottaras and Aoki make the bench so much better its kind of crazy. They gave 487 PA's to bench guys who had OPS+ worse than YuniB's 75 last year. This doesn't include McGehee's 600. Only one of them will get AB's this year, and his only issue was he only got 30 ABs and got bad luck with hits dropping (Gamel). Counsell, Wilson, Nieves, Almonte, Lopez..... will not be missed.
  11. Now, if anyone can explain Bogut not playing an entire 4th quarter in a close game, in favor of freaking terrible Drew Gooden.... edit: Gooden is fine as a backup C, and fine as a PF. But he is not someone you want playing 25 minutes in a game at C.
  12. There has never been a ball player who swung as hard at the ball as Prince Fielder. Nor have I ever heard a crowd make the same noise as when he would take one of those hacks.... and miss. Still, though, oddly, my fondest memory of him, is of a foul ball, he hit up into 406 (or so) one game a couple years ago. I was sitting in 421 that day (behind home plate), and I still can't believe that anyone could hit a ball up there.
  13. The Houston We-Got-Hit-By-The-Light-Rails?
  14. RIP. Grew up listening to him and Max every Sunday (tv sound off, radio on). Still wish that I had a copy of the 1997 Super Bowl audio of those two.
  15. I can't believe that article says the Red Sox needed to "free up money" come on. They print money in Boston.
  16. So they had a former manager/coach completely bury them as well? For some strange reason I can't remember anyone saying Rodgers was hard headed, doesn't carry himself like a professional and won't amount to anything until he gets his head on straight... But other than that I guess its a good comparison http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gifUm, that's pretty much exactly what they said about Rodgers the two weeks leading up to the draft, and why he fell to the Packers.
  17. Leinies is releasing their second "Big Eddy" brew, this time it is going to be a Scotch Ale. I got a sneak peek... and.... its delicious.
  18. They looked totally lost against NW's 1-3-1 half court trap until Bruesewitz got in there and popped to the top of the key and started making good passes. Other than a 5 min stretch in the first half (when they went from up 10 to down 8) they really kicked some Wildcat.
  19. The problem was there were 3 SS's for about 6 teams. Barmes probably signed too early, actually, had he waited he probably could've gotten even more.
  20. Cameron had a 25 game suspension for taking a banned stimulant (amphetamines). Players aren't tested in MLB for recreational drugs. Not knowing specifically what Braun tested positive for, its tough to say which purview he will fall under.
  21. Baseball teams also averaged over 2M per team, and even the lowest attended team had 175% of the highest attended of any other sport. I can make my numbers do fun things too. In 2003, MLB had a total of 67,688,994. In 2011 that total came up to 73,451,522. That's an 8.5% increase. That is legitimate growth. They have higher viewership numbers than ever before, larger TV contracts than ever before. I don't understand what sort of growth you are expecting, 'Crew. Do you expect them to lower ticket prices so you can go to more games because attendance is so high?
  22. He's not. He's a lefty.
  23. Minor League splits for 2011 can be found at http://minorleaguecentral.com/ Yes, the argument is Gamel at 1B vs Morgan or Aoki in RF, both hitting vs a LHP. Or, y'know, Taylor Green at 3B and Ramirez at 1B.... which is what I'd prefer.
  24. Go to Primanti Brothers for a sandwich. Stay downtown if you can (I can't say where the Brewers stay) and walk over the Roberto Clemente bridge to go to a game. Check out Church Breworks if you are a beer drinker. Awesome place.
