  1. Was this supposed to be in blue? The guy can't bunt. He is a HORRIBLE bunter. He's only had 8 bunt hits all year, and probably had 100+ bunt attempts. Yes, once in awhile is fine, but he can't bunt the ball fair even half of the time, so it's really not worth it for him to be bunting unless the IF is playing back.
  2. As soon as my buddy mentioned Bradley Whitford with an obnoxiously fake moustache, I was in. I've been loving the show so far.
  3. You really think anyone would ever throw at Prince again if he charged the mound and bowled over a pitcher the way he has a catcher on more than one occasion? Why can't he protect himself? Why does he need Manny Parra to do it for him? Oh yeah, because that's not "How it works in baseball", the pitchers get suspended and fined.... not the hitters.
  4. The difference is the 'Crew was in first place on the 4th of July last year. It would've been darn tough for the management to declare a fire sale with the team over .500 and a game or two out of first. Maybe they could've dealt someone when they were 4 games out at near the end of the month, but even then, there was hope way more hope than this year.
  5. The NBA is very, very strict in matching contracts for trades, and draft picks are worth exactly $0 in trades. So, what it comes down to, is, would the Bucks be willing to take on a bad contract + a young guy in exchange for giving the other team a shot at Carmello Anthony next year?
  6. Above average defense with league average offense for super cheap is very valuable, especially to a team with a limited budget.
  7. Oswalt has very little positive value beyond what his salary is. That makes it very tough for a team like the Brewers to pick him up, as absorbing 35M in salary for 40M in production, (5M net) while trading away what could easily be 50M net in production would be a terrible deal. This is the same reason the Rays aren't really in the Prince Fielder "sweepstakes"
  8. Fangraphs with a great bit on Braun and his power.... I still think he's done something to inhibit his ability to hit lefties, I can't say what, but... 07-09 vs Lefties: .364/.432/.708/1.140 (400 ABs) 2010: .237/.306/.351/.657 (97 ABs) Yes, a nearly .500 point drop in OPS vs LHP.
  9. I was surprised Mat Latos wasn't mentioned... but, then I looked him up and he pitched 1 inning too many last year. I wish the talking heads would stop calling him a rookie.
  10. From the Brewers perspective, this list should be something like... "I wouldn't trade this guy for any single player below him." Which would make my list more like this: 1) Gallardo 2) Braun 3) Lawrie 4) Escobar 5) Lucroy 6) Fielder 7) Weeks 8) Hart 9) McGehee 10) Braddock
  11. http://sportsguru09.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/mark_cuban.jpg That's all I could think of when I read your comment.
  12. After cycling everything, go by process of elimination: 1) Can you connect with a direct linkup? 2) Can you connect just through the switch? 3) Can you connect via the wireless accesss point? I agree with Diskono, it sounds like one (or more) things got reset to the default settings. And don't forget the all important #4: Could it be a bad cable?
  13. I prefer to use WAR as a counting stat, to show what a guy did as opposed to a predictive stat, though. In that case, it actually should be alright.
  14. A bit more on Belt: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2010/7/16/1573696/brandon-belt
  15. Sanders looked good, although he took too many jumpers. Can really see why the Bucks liked Tiny Gallon as well. The guy just gets rebounds. He has issues on the offensive end, but at only 19, I could definitely see him being a 20-minute a game guy in a year or two.
  16. Prince doesn't charge the mound. He charges the clubhouse after the game. So, I wasn't watching yesterday... were either of the two Brewers HBP's intentional?
  17. How many teams are consistent 90-win teams?3? Red Sox, Yankees, Angels? No one wins 90 every year without a 100+ million dollar payroll. Last 5 years: 5 89-win seasons: Yankees, Angels 4: Red Sox 3: Phillies, White Sox 2: Cardinals, Rockies, Indians, Mets 1: A's, Tigers, Twins, Braves, Padres, DBacks, Brewers, Cubs, Dodgers, Rays
  18. They've been there for months, basically they are unloading terrace reserved seats for $10. I've watched the bike cops just roll by without saying a word, even while they walk around and say "Who needs tickets?"
  19. Edmonds since the end of April: .261/.305/.429/.733 He really has not been good at all.
  20. http://www.gearfuse.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/stink_tree.jpg
  21. Since his last start in May (the 27th), 9 starts (+1/3 of an inning in relief): WHIP: 1.31 H/9: 8.8 BB/9: 2.9 K/9: 5.4 HR/9: 0.81 SO/BB: 1.83 So, his numbers over those 9 starts have been much, much better than they were previously. Maybe Bushy has figured something out.
  22. Thanks for the advice guys. If it's something major, I plan to get it done myself, I'm hoping it's just a hose/connection issue. The place near me gives free estimates and got good reviews on google, so I figured I'd take it in there and have them check it out.
  23. The 'Crew has had 5 OF's, Inglett was perfectly able to fill in at either corner OF spot if he was needed... his flexibility gave them the option of carrying the 13th pitcher. Now, if that guy never gets used... even in blowouts, that's a whole different story. I'm excited to see Mr. Cain. Hopefully he gets a start or two or six.
  24. Hey all, looks like I need to have my car checked out. Usually I go to a guy I know in Madison, but since it's my brakes, I really don't want to drive all the way to Madison to have it looked at. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a place to get my car checked out in the Stallis/Tosa area.... it's a '96 Corolla if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help!
