  1. I've got a small radio I can bring.
  2. I'd definitely be in for some poker games, as long as the buy ins aren't too steep!
  3. He had the only RBI in Sheets 1-0 win over Peavy. Thats also his only XBH in 3 weeks (I think)
  4. The Baseball HOF has opened up voting to the public for 3 (of the 10) nominees on the Ford Frick award. Take a gander....
  5. Dang, Jamie... good luck with the docs. I've had Achilles problems in the past, its no fun.
  6. I hate to say it, but he's been doing this all year against whomever the Brewers play. There's a reason the guy hardly ever draws a walk, compared to most guys who hit as well as he does.
  7. They were interviewing the head of the ump's union (I forget the name) on the radio the other day, and he said that out of 1500+ games this year, only 16 plays would've been reviewed. So, really, this isn't something that's going to slow down the game. I'm all for it. I wonder if fan interference (ala Jeffery Maier) will be reviewable.
  8. Managed to tweak my back golfing, if it feels better I'll be at practice, if not, I'm just gonna take the day off and rest it up. Stupid muscles.
  9. I was a Madison East Purgolder... class of '97 Not that I'm a proud alum or anything. http://www.madison.k12.wi.us/east/images/paw.gif Famous Alum's include... http://www2.jsonline.com/badger/image/2000/april/1boone40100.jpg Roy Boone http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/72358924.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF193875DCB1DD8387ABB523B053D2EB5946CA40A659CEC4C8CB6 Former Badger and then Patriot/Panther Donald Hayes http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2005/writers/tim_layden/10/07/runnings/p1_jennings_1007.jpg Gabe Jennings, who competed in the 2000 olympics in the 1500 And lastly, probably the most famous amongst wisconsinites: http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/museum/exhibits/toys/images/richterpat.jpg Pat Richter
  10. Things like that get said all the time. I wish someone would explain to me, given the power that the players association had at that point, what exactly he could have done? Locked the players out when they constantly refused to put drug testing into the CBA? It wasn't until the media started to become involved in this (spearheaded in large part, to Ken Caminiti coming clean that he took steroids in his MVP season), that the players association lost their stranglehold on their ability to keep drug testing out of the CBA.
  11. The same thing happens all the time at Miller Park these days. I wait until between at bats to get up or to sit down. I wish more people would learn this simple piece of baseball etiquette. My rant: Once again, Ned Yost is proving he has no idea the difference between good execution and good results. Continuing to pitch Mota in the 8th inning despite him being extremely lucky early in the season was one example, now the team winning despite Counsell and Kendall (who should at least be getting a day off a week!!).

  13. I haven't even turned on my radio to WSSP or ESPN Milwaukee in 2 days, which may be a new record for me. I got sick of hearing about how "Loud the cubs fans are, and what great fans they are, where were the Brewers fans?" When, anyone with a clue, or anyone who was at the games knew there were plenty of Brewers fans, and the Cubs fans only got loud once their team was winning. Otherwise, as is typical front runner fashion they sat on their hands.
  14. I just have one... You never have to deal with her making you decide where to go (whether its for dinner, for drinks, or on a Saturday afternoon), so that she can get the pleasure of complaining about it afterwards. No matter where you picked to go out. When I say I don't care, I mean I don't care. When she says it, she means, "You better get this right, or else!"
  15. Luke, my best to you and yours. If there's anything I can do, let me know. -Erin
  16. The team makes way less money on the series if its on a weekend, though. That's the problem. That's why they request to play the cubs during the week. Instead of averaging almost 45k/game when they'd average 30-35/k a game, they average that same 45k on a weekend when they normally average 42 or 43k. The reason there are so many Cubs fans is because there are 15 million of them, and only a million Brewers fans. They plan to come to MP for that series, not many Brewers fans plan to go tot he Cubs/Brewers series. Not to mention the atmosphere keeps a lot of people (my parents, who are huge Brewers fans, want nothing to do with how the park is during this series).
  17. 3 words that have served me well in my life, and I will never forget. "Women" is crazy.
  18. I'm a Madison vet, who's now in Milwaukee... so, I'll drop some of my personal secrets.... Sunset at the terrace. Honestly, if you can hold a conversation, there's no better place to be in the summer time. Go get some dinner to go from someplace (Noodles, on State st, perhaps?) and head down there. If you want to take her to dinner, go someplace she's never been. Get her to try something new. Whether its Laredo's on the east (or west...) side, or a Plaza burger. There's a really good Irish place now, out on the east side near American Family. Erin's (I think) its called. I could go on, but I've gotta save some things for myself... right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I'm in, either night, if you need me.
  20. I don't want "Lets go Brewers" we all need to start saying Nine-Teen Oh-Eight.
  21. Yes. He's more than justfied it by winning 3 games this year already. At least, in my opinion. He isn't making that much money anyway. So many people seem to be stuck in the early 90's salary structure. He's not even making 2x what Craig Counsell is. So I ask you, is Craig Counsell justifying his salary?
  22. Yeah, it should've ended with Joe Dillon getting one more AB before he went to Nashville.
  23. I hate this idea. Just what we need. Making the bullpen harder for Ned to manage.
  24. I really enjoy The Oaks, just east of Madison. Its about $50 with a gps cart, and you can get a second round (same day) for $25. I've played 36 there a couple times as a result (though my back didn't appreciate it the next day)
