  1. I dunno. Lyle Overbay got booed. Carlos Lee gets booed -- for taking a contract that was about twice as much as the Brewers offered him. Today's fans are an uninformed fickle bunch overall.
  2. Maybe they haven't beaten any really good teams yet, but, they didn't beat anyone last year. At least they're beating someone!
  3. If two teams go crazy, I could even see 7/200.
  4. Am I missing something here.... Lee was dominant in the AL all year long. Why doesn't he deserve it?I see it as close between him and Halladay. The sad part is, Mr. 62 saves will probably win the award.
  5. 150 innings > 65 innings. There's no way they'd bring him back to close, especially at 18-20million a year.
  6. Don't know if you do already or not...but, exercise and get yourself eating healthy. If you can set the routine when you aren't overly busy, it makes it easier to keep when you are.
  7. Gonna miss him, he was one of the better interviews on the team. I won't forget this anytime soon:
  8. I wanted to drop this into the thread, as it seems relevant with all the strikeout talk: Just another out? Things to note: You can't compare an outcome to a yet-to-be-determined outcome. IE: You can't compare a strikeout to a batted, but not yet fielded ball. The same way that you can't compare a 6-4-3 double play to an 0-2 count. Anyway, back to the thread topic... Cam is a steal at 1 year, 10million. We aren't going to get 3 wins out of 10million at any other position, and he's worth that over any of the other options I've seen thrown around in the thread.
  9. Should answer all your questions here: http://www.vote411.org/bystateresult.php?state=WI
  10. Just wanted to toss a name out there, who might be very useful in a 1-year Gagne-esque type deal. Randy Johnson He had 184 IP last year, and his K-BB was 4:1. His ERA was 3.91 and I don't think he'll go for that much in FA.
  11. I'm glad he'll be untuckin' 'em for another year. Seemed like a no brainer to me, hopefully the 'crew can bring back Skip Kapler as their 4th outfielder... or find a Gabe Gross-esque lefty to fill that role.
  12. I'd gotten the fans choice package in Terrace Box, as it allowed me to decide which games I could go to, my job and school at the time made my schedule pretty limited. I stayed with that package after being told that my seats wouldn't get any worse than they had been.
  13. I'm not renewing. After being lied to by two different ticket reps about why my seats were where they were last year (I went from 419 or 420 every game to 410 and 411 and as far away as 405 and 433 for the Cubs games) and the latest price bump, and being told that being a 4th year season ticket holder won't effect where my seats are at all, its simply not worth it to me. I'll just be buying single game tickets this year. I am disappointed in how I was treated as a fan and an individual. Do I think I deserve special treatment? No, I thought I deserved honesty. Even now my ticket rep won't tell me what package I need to order to return my seats to their previous location.
  14. Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Highly recommend it to anyone. Especially someone in their 20's. Yes, there's a pretty hefty application process, but its one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.
  15. Plain and simple it would be way too expensive for a college baseball team that draws under 10,000 fans to rent out Miller Park 15-20 times a season. Once or twice, maybe.
  16. The Yankees also have a crazy new owner who's desperate to step out from his father's shadow and make a big splash. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Sheets, CC and Manny all end up wearing pintstripes.
  17. My guess is he goes for 7/200, or something very close to it.
  18. The YES network brought in 340 million for the Yankees in 2006, I'm sure that's only increased the last two years. The Brewers aren't even close to anything like that.
  19. My vote is for Kapler as Player/Coach.
  20. I'm just so happy its not Boston vs LA. I wouldn't have even watched. Here's an imaginary game 1 recap: Manny Mannied Manny with two Mannies on and Manny Mannied to Manny with a walk.
  21. I'm an advocate of trading Prince this off season. We'll get much more value for him than we would after next year especially if he puts up another 'barely above average' line for a 1B, and terrible defense again. He finished 8th amongst 1B in VORP, which doesn't take defense into account. His defense was probably the 2nd worst amongst 1B in baseball. If we can get a top of the line, MLB ready pre-arby guy for him I'd be for it.
  22. Well, you went to a show when an artist was incredibly popular and there were tons of high schoolers... really... what did you expect? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
