  1. F. Tony Gwynn DHing when he brings only speed and defense to the table is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Mota. Despite what others have said, Mota is not Melvin's fault. There's 7 pitchers in the pen, he doesn't need to throw Mota in the 8th inning. He's perfect for the Chris Spurling role. I just don't think Yost knows the difference between a good result, and good execution. If you walk three guys and the 3rd guy lines into a triple play, thats a good result, with poor execution. Its what Mota had done the first 20 games he pitched.
  2. Thanks for all the input so far. I'm not looking to buy a house just yet, as I don't know how long I'm going to be in Milwaukee. Just looking for an apartment.
  3. So, I'm frantically searching for a new place to live in Milwaukee. I'm seriously considering Tosa or West Allis, due to it being closer to my new job, and cheaper. I'm just wondering, where I should be looking, and what area's are no-no's to live in, in and around Miltown. I've only lived and looked on the east side of town so far so I really have no clue. Thanks for any help!
  4. Obviously its because Bill Hall signed with the team and Prince hasn't. That's why the boo Hall. Oh wait... that's not a good reason?
  5. I could've sworn I had tickets to Saturday's game. It turns out they are for next Saturday. Apparently.
  6. I hate to do this but... at Arizona (1-2) Pittsburgh (2-1) Colorado (2-2) Cincinnati (2-1) at San Francisco (1-2) at St. Louis (0-4) Houston (1-2) Chi Cubs (2-2) That gives me 11-16. The wheels come off.
  7. Yes, gosh darn our 5th starter for never winning games when he gives up 4 runs. Gosh darn him for being our second best pitcher in June. Gosh. Send him to Mexico for some bats and bring back Vargas!
  8. The Target parking lot just S of MP is where I always meet up with large groups.
  9. I hope it comes down to Love or Alexander. I really don't want the guy out of LSU. As for Yi going, so long. I don't care if a guy goes for 26/10 every night (which Yi didn't do... but might someday) when he gives up 20/15 to every single guy who plays against him. IMO, there's only one guy worth trading up for in this draft, and thats Rose.... and I don't see the Bulls trading that pick.
  10. Last week you said you wouldn't be there!
  11. I'm in. Does this mean you'll be hitting up the bar afterwards Jamie?
  12. I'll be attempting to make it. I promise to wear pants.
  13. Chucky's Big Adventure Pants off Dance off
  14. Over the last 3 years: Rickie as a leadoff man: .265/.373/.451/.824 in 680 AB's Rickie elsewhere: 448 ABs 102 hits, 20 doubles, 2 triples, 9 hr (153 total bases)... 54bb Leaves him with the line of: .227/.341/.310/.651 (ops) in 448 ABs So, Rickie has been a gosh darned fine leadoff hitter, and terrible everywhere else in the lineup. edit: Just noticed this was '05-07, doesn't include this year. But he's only hit leadoff this year.
  15. I really hope they draft Joe Alexander out of West Virginia. Every time I hear the guy give an interview he just sounds ready, and smart, and willing to learn. If Bob Huggins can turn him into a lottery pick in a year, I can only imagine how much more he could grow as a player.
  16. The thing is, the difference from Prince to LaPorta would probably be less than the difference between Bush/McClung to Sabathia Of course, there are no guarantees.... and you're right. An army of Brewers fans would be marching. Why? Because they all call into the radio shows asking why the Brewers haven't signed Fielder to the same deal as Braun. *shakes head*
  17. What philosophy are you referring to? All Beane has done is try to find places within the market that are undervalued and exploit them (which I'd imagine is the same thing _any_ GM should try to do....right?). It happened that when Moneyball was written, that walks were one of the things that was being undervalued.
  18. Dare I say it... but.... Russel Branyan... All Star? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?sort=avg&split=0&league=nl&season=2008&seasonType=2&type=reg&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&minpa=50&hand=a&pos=3b&startDate=null&endDate=null
  19. I'll be there. With bells on. Okay. Maybe shorts instead of bells.
  20. Guy I love to see, Bob Schneider, records every one of his shows and sells the CD's right after, for $15.
  21. If we could lock up Corey for 6/54mil that would be a steal considering he's 2 years closer to being a FA than Braun is.
  22. I'm going to head to the BBC this evening and have some wings and play some trivia.
  23. The game is today, right? 6/12 not 6/13?
  24. I'm in. I'm excited.... hopefully... finally... making my debut.
