  1. I'm sorry, what? Bootleggers are still a thing?
  2. I mean, Billy Jo Robidoux wore those two numbers as a Brewer.
  3. At some point the union is going to have to look to the future, and realize that the players who aren't in the union yet are important to their financial future. Until 36 year old players stop saying, "I want mine, now" that won't happen.
  4. I don't buy the body doesn't move wellaspect, when you are in the game you are warmed up and feel fine, I can attest to this based on plenty of cold football playing The first part of your body that loses dexterity and touch in the cold are your extremities. Especially your exposed fingers.
  5. There's at least a post or two like this every April Fool's day, and has been pretty much for the 15+ years I've been following this board. It's tradition. Yes. People have spent time and effort creating satirical posts for April Fools day. Not a 2 sentence lie. This was not a joke, this wasn't satire, this wasn't funny in any way shape or form to anyone but the person who wrote it. https://onmilwaukee.com/sports/articles/brewers-cubs-toll-april-fools.html
  6. Making up stuff and blatantly lying to people is not a joke.
  7. I'll be in line at 8am, in the Molitor lot sometime around 9. Brats, Italians, and chicken on the grill for the 30ish people I think are coming. GOOD TIMES! OPENING DAY! WOOO!
  8. The difference between him and all the other bench guards (Patty C, DDV, Sterling Brown) is pretty steep, especially on the defensive end. Hill almost looks like he isn't trying hard and doesn't make the ridiculous plays like those 3, but he never makes a misstep and he's always in the right place. Just always perfectly under control.
  9. Not to mention losing out on both Hauser brothers and Herro(who looks like first rounder if he declares now). Hard to blame him for either individually. One brother decides to go to Marquette, the other will. Herro has a chance to go to a Basketball factory and play right away...again, tough to blame him. But perhaps a more up tempo style of play would be more enticing... UW BB looks like it's entering a sustained period of mediocrity. They had 3 upper classmen contribute this season and finished 4th in the Big10 and were a 5 seed in the tournament.
  10. Yeah, Counsell's slide was about as blatant interference as you're going to see. But that was circa 2010, when interference wasn't on the rule books.
  11. 4 vs STL 2-2 3 @ Cin 2-1 3 vs Chi 1-2 3 @ LAA 1-2 3 @ LAD 1-2 3 vs STL 2-1 4 vs LAD 2-2 3 @ STL 1-2 3 @ NYM 2-1 2 vs Col 1-1 15-16 for me.
  12. Absolutely. Hattie B's is incredible. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/02/04/the-family-business-that-put-nashville-hot-chicken-on-the-map Also, had a great time just off of Broadway in Printers Alley.
  13. 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 89-73 Playoffs (Yes, No): No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: None. All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Grandal, Moustakas Offensive Player of the Year: Moustakas Starting Pitcher of the Year: Burnes Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Braun
  14. The NLDS will never be forgotten. Also, his game-tying single against Pittsburgh in the 15th.
  15. He's 12th in the league in percentage for guys who shoot more than 6 3's a game. He is an elite 3 point shooter.
  16. Hader might possibly be the most valuable reliever in baseball right now. Knebel, despite his hiccups last season, was terrific down the stretch, and has a proven record of high-end work. Claudio has been solid the last several years, and has looked terrific this spring. Relievers are typically volatile regardless of how much perceived depth you have any given season, but any pen headed by arms like Knebel and Hader is going to be viewed as a strength. If Jeffress is an issue, that obviously hurts overall depth, but I don't think that changes the fact that the pen is a strength. Every team is going to have unknowns going into the season. Don’t disagree ^^^^^^ I guess my head just explodes with the thought of Barnes and Albers in this pen, and no Jeffress. I’m sure the pen Will look different as the season progresses so I have that to look forward to. Albers was great last season until he got hurt. He had 6 1/3 horrible innings last season. That's what you're basing your opinion on.
  17. Not having Brogdon might be affecting this team more than we think. It's not that. It's being down 3 guys at 1 position. Hill, Brogdon and Brown. Attrition sets in at some point.
  18. The game could be ugly, ugly, ugly. Wisconsin is 3rd in Ken Pom's adjusted defense, Oregon 19th. Hopefully it's a big Badger win and not a 48-44 slogfest.
  19. I don't care. In fact, watching a manager argue with an umpire is WAY more entertaining than watching 4 union hacks huddle around with headsets on waiting to hear if a runner is out at 1B in 0-0 game with 2 outs in the 3rd inning. College football has solved the replay problem. There is absolutely no reason MLB cannot adopt the same system. Having a 5th replay umpire in the booth who presses a button to say "Hold on" to the home plate ump. Then they have 60 seconds to review. Call is over. This would still be infinitely faster than the "Let's wait and see if the guy in the clubhouse says we should challenge this" which happens every game.
  20. Hilarious. They have decided to attack the problem that isn't a problem. Going down from 3.9 to 3.5 pitchers per game isn't going to speed the games up noticeably. Reducing the inaction between pitches when nothing happened will. Get the ball, pitch the ball. That's the fix that needs to happen.
  21. This season might be the first time in a long, long time where I'm thinking "I wonder what pitchers they send down" followed by the thought of "a few really good pitchers are going to end up in AAA"
  22. He can sign one, but you can only give 20% raises per season. As he is currently signed for 13M, the max he could agree to in an extension is about 4/70.
  23. Just a reminder how short time is, 9 years ago was Brandon Jennings rookie year. There hasn't been much talent at all at the PG position in Milwaukee in the last 10 years. Excited for the rest of the season. I am still in shock at just how great this team looks when they click on all cylinders.
  24. They are 331/353 in FT percentage in the NCAA. That is probably the difference between them being ~20th in the country and 10th.
