  1. Looks like that changed with the new playoff format... "With, however, the adoption of a second wildcard berth and a wildcard game beginning in the 2012 season, the non-division winner with the best record in the league faces possible elimination on the first day of the postseason. As a result, the tie-breaking rules were changed so that two teams tied for a division championship must play a tie- breaking game even if both teams have already qualified for the postseason." That doesn't seem right. So the Brewers could have to play a tie breaker with the Cubs and then if they lose, host the wild card game probably not having their best pitcher against a team that probably will. I know, win the game and you don't have to worry about it but it puts the team with the better record at a disadvantage. I mean, I'd rather have two chances to win and get to the nlds than one.
  2. My cousin works at WTS Paradigm. Thankfully he's okay.... but it's just awful. The National Council of Family Relations put together a solid list of resources. If you need them, utilize them. Talk. Cope. Find your best way to deal with the trauma. Internalizing things will only cause you more pain in the long term. https://www.ncfr.org/resources/resource-collections/coping-wake-shootings-mass-violence-and-terrorism
  3. That's true. We wouldn't want anyone smuggling in jagged metal O's.
  4. This ad is so horrible. I cannot believe they actually decided to cater to 1950's stereo types.
  5. The flip flopped starters last week to line up Chacin to be the WC game starter.
  6. Well, he was a Cardinal, and from what I hear VERY classy Seriously though, that one is a head-scratcher. Granted it was during the war years and the talent league-wide was diluted, but Marion had a .686 OPS, 6 homers, and just 63 RBIs! Must've had something to do with the Cardinals winning the Series that year I'm sure. Any one of the next three guys in the voting that season would've been my choice: Bill Nicholson, Cubs -- .287/391/.545/.935 OPS, 33 HR's, 122 RBIs Dixie Walker, Dodgers -- .357/.434/.529/.963 OPS, 13 HR's, 91 RBIs Stan Musial, Cardinals -- .347/.440/.549/.990 OPS, 12 HR's, 94 RBIs - you'd think Musial would've won it with St. Louis taking it all that year I guess he was that good! https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/7a722fee
  7. Yes, I do mean it. When push comes to shove (right now), look what the Cubs are doing vs. the Brewers are doing. Of course all teams go through highs and lows over the course of a season, but it's crunch time now where you need to show what you are made of. The Cubs are winning and the Brewers aren't. If these games don't differentiate the winners and and losers, what games do? You mean 5-5 vs 6-4 over their last ten? The Cubs are 5-5, by the way.
  8. Or if he actually plays the ball to throw it back in instead of being lazy and not taking the extra two steps
  9. Have they said why Cain got pulled? I'm at the game...
  10. Colorado Springs: 6,035' San Antonio: 650' Milwaukee: 617' Yes, yes it is.
  11. I've never had that problem before. Brought in plenty of stuff in zip-loc bags from chips to peanuts. That sucks.
  12. Carrying in Jimmy John's is better (and cheaper) than anything I've had from the concessions stands at Miller Park. When you carry this type of food in, do you have to put it in a container? Nope. You can bring in any food you want, container or not. I regularly bring in candy/peanuts/sandwiches or other leftover tailgate food.
  13. I heard that you gotta score more than 0 to win. Maybe we need to sacrifice a live chicken?
  14. Ten years ago today the Brewers parted ways with Ned Yost.
  15. Baez is really a fun guy to watch and a truly great interview. If he were on the Brewers everyone would love him (except old curmudgeons) That said... It's gonna be a fun two weeks, everybody. Get your popcorn ready.
  16. Within the ballpark app you can send your tickets to other people by bringing up the ticket in the app (where you can see the barcode) then hitting "Forward"
  17. The crowd just woke up. They are playing YMCA.
  18. Wind is picking up, blowing from right to left
  19. In the bleachers. Almost dead calm. The amount of people around me who don't know there is a baseball game going on is staggering
  20. Rickey24. Good guy. Auctioned off his seats once or twice a year for charity.
