  1. The Fiesta is amazing. The food is really good and being down near the lake is amazing. You're right there to walk over to Veterans park and hang out too, if you want. If you're looking for other family-friendly things to do around Milwaukee, some suggestions: Go hiking (yes, I'm a hiking nerd) Lapham Peak unit of the Kettle Moraine State park is about 30 minutes away and has a beautiful observation tower & a ton of trails. The 7 Bridges hike in Grant Park is one people always reccommend. Lion's Den Gorge, just east of Grafton (about a half hour away from downtown) is also gorgeous, and walks along the bluffs and then down to Lake Michigan. A great place to bring some snacks and spend a couple hours walking 3-4 miles. The Milwaukee Zoo is another popular day spot.
  2. Unless they really it will only their 4th loss this season when scoring at least 5.
  3. They might do this to keep Peralta's innings down
  4. One of my all time favorite Ted Williams interviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y6TFRt0jC4
  5. I read it. Then I read it again. Then I thought, "Come on. You can't just go making up names and expect people to believe it." So, I actually googled it. Turns out, they are real baseball players. Who knew?
  6. In 59 and 17 PA's respectively. It's not like he's played a lot.

  8. My limited hacker-ability can't seem to get these videos to load in the archives. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=mil&ym=200709 Le-Sigh.
  9. I'm sure someone will now complain about Counsell not having fire and getting thrown out now
  10. 1) Kawhi, if healthy, is probably the 3rd best player in the league, a guy who was single handedly beating Golden State before Zaza horribly broke him. DeRozan is somewhere around 20th. That's a huge difference. 2) Kawhi was never going to sign with Toronto, their best hope was to get him there for a season and hope he falls in love with the atmosphere, city, and being a superstar in Canada. 3) They got out from under DeRozan's contract. Was he truly good enough to be worth what he was being paid?
  11. And you watch over the past 20 years, the world has caught up to the USWNT. As other countries start cultivating talent and empowering their female athletes, suddenly, the US model of pay-to-play (which has only gotten worse over the past 20 years) doesn't hold up nearly as well. https://www.soccerwire.com/news/michelle-akers-briana-scurry-reflect-on-growth-of-womens-soccer-challenges-ahead/2/
  12. So it's not about the money afterall. The entire article is in fact saying it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
  13. We're also starting to fall back to the pack in every major sport in the world. Having a 100 year head start helps.
  14. Every time hateful things are said about a group of people and it is brushed off with "It's okay, he's just a kid" is another time we are making it normal for this kind of speech to exist. "It was just locker room talk." "It's just video game banter." "It's just the internet, that doesn't matter." It's hate. It's demeaning groups of people. It is NOT okay. Edit: Travis Sarandos over at BrewCrew Ball said it better than I ever could.
  15. An old article but a good one on how the US is failing to develop talent.

  17. Boston seems to do ok getting high draft picks. Yep. They had a forward thinking GM who traded away their talent before it left in free agency for nothing and who makes moves that are forward thinking instead of reactionary. They didn't trade away extra first round draft picks for non needle moving players (like Grievous Vasquez and Michael Carter-Williams) or dump 2nd round picks for guys who barely saw any minutes (like Tyler Zeller).
  18. I have never been a WAR guy, too many holes in that stat for my liking. I'd say at least 4 holes in there.
  19. First: It's media availability. Any media member with credentials can ask questions. Secondly, she's employed by Fox Sports Wisconsin. Not by the Milwaukee Brewers. Third, who has asked the tough questions? Haudricourt? McCalvy? Anyone in the past 4 years?
  20. Sometimes I catch an Angels game on my MLB.tv subscription and I just feel bad for Mike Trout. He's so, so, so good.... and his organization has completely failed him.
  21. I'm not a plumber but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night... Sounds like your intake valve to your house might be wearing down and be at too high of a pressure. Hire a plumber sooner rather than later, you don't want anything really bad to happen.
  22. I might consider Herrera and Davis for the 2015 Royals, but Davis was sort of 1/2 a closer for them that year -- Greg Holland was the other half.
