  1. This doesn't bother me nearly as much, unless the person, stands there, watches the entire checkout process, and THEN decides to fill out the entire check. You can have half the check already filled out before the total is displayed, but so many people fail to do this. It took my mid-60's father 5 years to start using a debit card, now that I've trained him, he's fine with it. People just use what they're comfortable with and if no one helps them change what they do, they never will.
  2. Nope, you're not being dense, I'm just being illiterate.
  3. They got Dudley to get an extra first round pick down the line, and they got Bayliss because he has the same agent as Kidd and that was a bit of a 'wink, wink' type of deal. I can't imagine they really have plans for either one of them.
  4. So, maybe, just maybe, people realized that waiving the international symbol for surrender was a bad idea?
  5. So he was basically a #11/2 this season by ERA. It's surprising to me that a fringe-#1 ERA season isn't even north of 2.0 WAR Well, that puts him in the #3 starter region which makes him an average starter... which would be about 2.0 WAR. B-R, which uses ERA (fangraphs uses FIP) has him worth 2.4 WAR.
  6. In his WSSP interview Tue., Melvin specifically mentioned Estrada's end-of-season scoreless string and 2015 depth. They could still non-tender, but it seems they're not leaning that way at this time. Marco did his overall numbers no favors in getting a giant arby bump. Do you mean his overall numbers will no him no favors in getting a giant arby bump?
  7. Seems like most of the criticism is regards to the pitching change he made. I agree with that, probably was not a good decision. However, no one seems to be talking about the gutsy steal of 3rd in the 9th inning. Yes, that could have been disastrous, but it turned out to be necessary to score the tying run. I'm not some huge Yost fan. I have just always found the amount of venom directed towards coaches and managers in general, in all of sports to be very interesting. If you listen to all the arm chair QBs out there, for every coach/manager that is good, there are 5 that are horrible at what they do. They led the league in stolen bases and were 4th in steal percentage. That steal was a no brainer move to make in that situation. When you have 3 amazing relievers and you choose not to use one of them in the biggest situation of a one game playoff, because they are the "7th inning guy" and you decide, instead, to bring in a pitcher who walks a lot of guys, who also threw 75 pitches two days earlier.... well... yeah.... that's a horribly idiotic decision.
  8. Well, in the biggest situation in the game (2 on, nobody out, Royals up 2) he (rightfully) pulls his starting pitcher and then brings in what was probably his 5th best reliever who had just thrown 74 pitches 2 days before.
  9. Fielder got one in 2010 when everyone was sure he was going to be traded in the off season. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL201009260.shtml Jenkins got one in 2007. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL200709300.shtml I just thought the longest tenured Brewer deserved better.
  10. I don't think they have depth. They have a lot of mediocre players who are all about the same skill level. I hope it doesn't cause problems this year. I see the lineup as Knight, Middleton, Giannis, Parker and Sanders. I think Middleton has a big breakout year playing in an offense that actually utilizes the 3 point shot -- and is actually an offense.
  11. That irks me that Ron didn't put him in the game. He had a perfect opportunity in the 7th, before the fans started filing out, and instead, went with Overbay. I'll miss Rickie. All he did was play hard, do his job, and not complain about anything. He was never the same after they rushed him back on his busted up ankle in 2011, and you never heard him say a word about it. He seemed to lose a lot of lateral quickness as a result of that injury which really hurt his defense.
  12. There is plenty of room to add an entertainment district, you don't need 3 square miles of land to add restaurants, an indoor beer garden or whatever else they may want to put in there. You aren't building an amusement park. This isn't something that is going to take up 10 city blocks. The Arena will take up 1-1.5, where everything additional will take up 2-3. There is plenty of space there, especially if they can take over the space currently occupied by the Journal Sentinal's almost vacant building. That would tie the arena to the riverwalk (through Pere Marquette park) and Old World 3rd street. Again, it's a question of if it can be done right. I think the new owners realize this, and realize what it will take to get it done -- money, money, money and money.
  13. Why can't they have the same sort of vision for downtown? That is EXACTLY what the new owners are trying to do. This idea that it needs to be put in the dump of an area between Poto and Miller Park is just silly. Why can't it go downtown? http://www.jsonline.com/news/bucks-owners-hope-to-pick-site-for-new-arena-by-years-end-b99352988z1-275347641.html
  14. Davis was dealing with a forearm injury that made it very difficult for him to even swing a bat during the last couple weeks.
  15. Good Job getting Rickie an AB in his last game as a Brewer, Ron.
  16. I'm going to all 3 games this weekend, tailgating for all 3. This year was my lowest game total since I moved to Milwaukee in 2005, mostly because my summer was insanely busy. Baseball is my summer love, it's always a bit sad when I have to take my table, grill and tailgate kit out of my trunk for the season (they live there for 6 months every year). I'll miss the lot, the grills, offering strangers random awesome food we have too much of, and that short walk to the ballpark while the game time excitement builds. Rickie Weeks has been my favorite Brewer for the last 6 years, I'll miss the guy.
  17. Pirates are a game behind the Cardinals for the division crown. Let's go Diamondbacks! #AbtC (Anyone but the Cardinals!)
  18. Well, that assumption is completely incorrect. I've been to 30ish bucks games over the last 5 years, and never has there been more minorities than white people at a Bucks game. Compared to a Brewers game, yes, a Bucks game is more diverse... but not even close to what you've described.
  19. Jockish threw more balls than strikes. Good thing they went on first move on a 2 and 0 count then let Braun swing 3 and 0
  20. Rizzo gave a fan a souvenir in 405. That was a shot.
  21. Start -> Search for Autoplay Select "Change default settings for media" I am pretty sure you want to change 'pictures' to 'ask me every time' I believe that is what you're looking for. Hopefully it helps! Edit: This post may help you as well... http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/25245-picture-import.html
  22. Everything the new owners have said has been spot on. They know what to do, they know how to play politics. It all starts with getting Gimble out.
  23. Jeter is the worst hitter in their lineup, by far, why would they walk him?
