  1. I think you mean Kotsay http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I like having a player friendly manager over a guy like Macha. There are only 2 things that really get to me about how RR has managed so far this season. 1) Playing our terrible backups (see Kotsay) when we have very capable and proven starting position players. 2) Overaggressive baserunning. RR goes for the extra base too much and it's hurt him on several occasions.
  2. Rough inning for Lucroy. Not on the same page as Marcum with signs, not getting the call on the SB, failling to block the ball in the dirt and then the fan stealing his foul ball out. I still think blocking balls is Lucroy's biggest defensive issue.
  3. This game is MLB.tv's "free game of the day", for anyone interested. I've been out of the country for 2 weeks and missed all of the winning. Hopefully I don't jinx the streak.
  4. I just got back from my sister's wedding in Germany. A couple of the groom's friends were going to Cinque Terre for a few days after the wedding. It sounds amazing. The only bad part about the trip was that I missed the Brewers huge winning streak.
  5. So you are blaming RR for Lucroy making a bad decision on the base-paths after a hit? Tough crowd. These reoccurring baserunning mistakes didn't happen nearly as often with Macha. He had everyone glued to the bag. I am blaming RR for employing a more aggressive baserunning strategy that has failed in multiple instances.
  6. Latos has been hittable this year. He throws a lot of strikes, which should play into the Brewers hitting.
  7. The 2008 Milwaukee Brewers didn't really get consistently over .500 until June 1st.
  8. To add insult to injury, the person I'm playing in 5X5 fantasy baseball picked up Kyle McClellan for today and it has singlehandedly put him ahead of me in ERA, WHIP, and soon to be Wins.
  9. I don't think it was that bad of an idea for Lucroy to try and score. Gomez was going to be out on that play eventually anyway, so you might as well try and score a run while he's in a rundown.
  10. Iowa is the absolute worst for blackouts. If I lived in Iowa, I'd probably average about 3 hours a day more of actual work.
  11. This MLB.tv's FREE game of the day! So if you're not watching this game, head over to mlb.com.
  12. It's hard to tell with Roenicke and his major man crush on Kotsay, but that would explain Hart not PH yesterday and sitting 2 days in a row. It would be nice if he came out and said something. He did this with Morgan for a few days too.
  13. We all agree that he is a plus defender on a team that needs all the defense it can get. The backlash comes from his lack of discipline at the plate, his over aggressiveness on the bases and his overconfidence in his bunting ability. He is a very hot tempered player and it leads to some great plays, but also a lot of dumb plays. For instance in today's game, where he was batting 8th in front of the pitcher, a heads up base running play let him stretch a bloop single into a double. He made it into second safely sliding, but he could have very easily been thrown out and we would have had the pitcher leading off the following inning. It may just be perception, but it seems like he is getting himself in trouble quite often on the basepaths because he's not thinking about the situation. As a plus defender at a prime defensive position, batting 8th in the lineup, he does a decent job, but it gets harder to defend him when higher OBP guys like Morgan become available.
  14. Did Gomez think that was a HR? He stood in the box for a long time.
  15. -Pitching change mid AB = weird -Hart needs to get the PH if he's healthy -Molina with a HUGE f-bomb on the Cardinals broadcast
  16. To be fair that ball bounced over the head of the third baseman and was fielded by the shortstop in the outfield grass.
  17. Nice job by Gallardo. Let's get someone warmed up in the bullpen.
  18. The key being, if he has it going. He seems to be missing on a lot of pitches in the last 2 innings.
  19. Beautiful double play! So if the Brewers win this game does that mean Gallardo has to wear his socks up for the rest of the season?
