  1. Just to be safe you should probably be drinking continuously during every game.
  2. I hate the Cardinals TV broadcasters. All they do is praise the Cardinals on everything they do and they are right. It really gets under your skin.
  3. The Brewers need a strong performance from Greinke today. Let's take 1 from the Cardinals before heading out west.
  4. For whatever reason I was watching highlights from the 1997 World Series and the broadcasters were Bob Costas and Bob Uecker. Good times. I doubt Uecker wants to do national work again, but it would be nice to hear Costas and NBC take over the World Series again.
  5. The kid just threw JHJ out at home plate, only JHJ slapped the ball out of the catchers hand. Look for the replay. Harper's throw couldn't have been more on target.
  6. You should check out Uecker's book "Catcher in the Wry". It was recommended to me by someone on this site a number of years back. It has all of Uecker's classic stories and anecdotes.
  7. The bullpen is thin, but there are still viable options. You have Loe, K-Rod and Ax who haven't pitched since Tuesday. If you pinch hit for Estrada, you just about double your chance of scoring with the bases loaded. It just seems like an easy decision. Plenty of time left to comeback here.
  8. There is rain in Cleveland and Minnesota, so it sounds like the country will start out watching the Brewers.
  9. Apparently 1.60% of my posts come in this thread. It bugs me that so much bugs me.
  10. The A game in my area is Kansas City at Minnesota. I guess it's Uecker for me.
  11. So Gallardo has a 6.9+ ERA against the Cards in 67+ innings of work, easily among the worst of any opponent. Do the Cardinals know something about Gallardo? Is he tipping pitches? His splits are even worse against the Cards at Miller Park. Sad night.
  12. I forgot to start Yo on my fantasy team. That non-move is looking pretty good right now. Well, plenty of time left for a comeback.
  13. Izturis has a career .300 OBP against LHP, Ishikawa has a career .288 OBP against LHP. They both suck.
  14. http://deadspin.com/5904716/more-interesting-than-watching-a-royals-game-from-behind-home-plate-books What Royal's fans do at games now.
  15. If Braun had something to say that would help prove his innocence, he would say it. I believe that most people in America want to believe Braun, but it's hard to do with the details that Braun gave us at his press conference. I'm ready to change my mind. Tell me that it has to do with more than just chain of custody Braun. Please.
  16. This entire case is about Ryan Braun. If anyone should be the one man to publicly clear up what truly happened, it should be Ryan Braun. This is his reputation on the line. He is the one with the positive test. No one cares about Ryan Braun, like Ryan Braun. I guess I simply don't get it. If not Ryan Braun, who should be the one to come forward? You have a good handle on this stuff pebadger. Please give me an idea of how Braun would be liable. If he came out and said that he took a substance without knowing it, what sort of penalty would he be looking at and who would enforce it? Would he be suspended from baseball for life? Would he face a large monetary fine, like $200,000? I honestly don't know and would like to get an idea of what is keeping Ryan Braun from telling the truth.
  17. Right now Braun is probably not going to be an All-Star. If at the end of his career he has Hall of Fame numbers, he's probably not going to be elected to the Hall of Fame because of this. Almost everyone outside of Milwaukee, including the media thinks that he is a steroid user. He has gotten booed loudly on the road so far. He has probably lost endorsements because of this incident. Braun has lost A LOT already because of this terrible situation. We are not talking about strippers here. If Braun had something new to clear his name, he would present it to the world and clear his tarnished name. Tell me; what's the worst that could happen if Braun tells us his side of the story? Now what's the best that could happen?
  18. According to ESPN, the player's union "has no interest in getting an explanation of a decision many believe let Braun off on a technicality." Why would the union want to hide the truth about this case, unless the details of the case make Braun/the players look worse? Wouldn't the union want to protect Braun if, for instance, the sample was tampered with? Clearly, both MLB and the player's union just want to move past this embarrassment. The more exposure this gets, the bigger the black eye for everyone. I agree with Chorizo, there's probably not anything more to this story, or someone in Braun's camp would have leaked it by now.
  19. Has anyone ever asked Greinke why he thinks he pitches better at home? I wonder if he thinks it's just a coincidence, or if he really is less anxious or more well rested at home.
  20. I just got a chance to catch up with this season and it doesn't disappoint. The fight between Campbell and Price was great. Sterling sums it up perfectly when he says, "I know this is uncivilized, but am I the only one who wants to see this".
