  1. The Brewers look really, really stupid right now. Taking your best player to a hearing over $750K and then bad-mouthing him during the hearing and saying he was one of the reasons they didn't make the postseason. This is just a horrible look for management.
  2. What happens to the Sounds if Nashville gets an MLB team?
  3. I think Mitchell is a lock to start the year in Milwaukee unless he absolutely flops or gets injured in ST. I've accepted the fact that the Brewers will wait until at least May 1 to call up Frelick to gain the extra year of control.
  4. Very much appreciated, @endaround. Thank you. So you basically you gain an extra year of pre-arby (which is cheap comparatively) by keeping the player down until mid-season. They become a free agent the same year, regardless. My gut tells me they won't wait around until mid-season to call Frelick up.
  5. Yeah I'd be interested to know how many are bad throws that are possibly not being scooped up by the 1B vs. fielding errors.
  6. I can't seem to wrap my head around the difference between a mid-April vs. mid-season callup. Can you explain a little further the difference between the two?
  7. This had to be one of the biggest days in Brewers history I would imagine? Things didn’t end particularly well with Cain and Yelich hasn’t lived up to his contract extension, but I’ll always remember this day as one of those most exciting in my time as a Brewers fan.
  8. I like your thinking but the Astros don’t have a comp pick.
  9. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that former President of Baseball Operations for the Brewers, David Stearns, is now potentially in the running to fill the vacant role in the Houston Astros front office. Stearns is technically still under contract with the Brewers through the end of the 2023 baseball season so any arrangement with Houston would have to be cleared by Milwaukee. That could manifest in a myriad of ways: money, players, or even a compensation pick could head to the Brewers should the Astros pursue Stearns for the role. View full rumor

  11. Anyone know when the playoffs start over in Australia? I can't seem to find any information anywhere.
  12. Yeah Frelick and Turang seemed destined to start the year in Nashville, which is a damn shame but not surprising. Can someone explain the cutoff dates for when they can be brought up to gain the extra year? I've heard two different dates - a few weeks into the season and sometime in June.
  13. We’ll see how he does next year in his first full season of professional baseball, but I’m officially really excited about Moore. Switch hitter, has some pop, high on base guy and elite defensively. Cannot wait for the minor league season to start!!
  14. Yeah I think it’s somewhere in the $10m - $15m range.
  15. Stop being so damn cheap and just pay your Cy Young award winner. Burnes is not asking for an unreasonable amount at all. Pretty ridiculous.
  16. One WS title in my existence would be nice. I’d even take an appearance.
  17. You mean Mark A isn't going to stretch the budget to sign McCutchen?
  18. Estimates, for reference. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/brewers?season=2023
  19. Kinda surprised to see the Yankees, Mets and Padres already out on him. Still think some team takes a chance on him but it might take awhile for that to happen.
  20. The Cardinals will pick him up and he will pitch absolutely lights out. Because that is what the Cardinals do.
  21. I’ll admit I don’t know anything about this guy but I believe they signed Perkins to fill this role?
  22. I’ll admit I don’t know anything about this guy but I believe they signed Perkins to fill this role?
  23. I think there are going to be fans who will make the argument that Mark A didn't really push the payroll to new heights during this run of one of the best starting rotations in Brewers history. Whether that would equal more wins or a WS title - nobody knows.
  24. Quite a bit of love for Turang in this survey.
