  1. All 4 of the free agent shortstops are going to get massive contracts, probably way more than an Adames extension would cost.
  2. And Frelick had more success in AA than Mitchell, who was obviously called up before him. You can’t keep a guy like Frelick in the minors forever. He should be starting OD.
  3. What would be a fair return for Adames? I'd want Miguel Vargas and a pitching prospect for sure. Probably not getting Miller but either Stone or Pepiot would be fair.
  4. Yelich will be a Brewer for a long time. Just move him to DH and hope for the best at this point. Best case scenario is his numbers return to his days as a Marlin. Worst case scenario is we're paying him $25 million a year to watch him hit little dribblers to the right side every AB.

  6. Forgot about Vazquez. I'd be down for that!
  7. Free agency might be rather boring for Milwaukee this year. Other than Abreu, who else makes sense? It's nothing but shortstops, pitchers and outfielders - none of which we really need. Maybe Mancini at 1B? Anything exciting we do will have to come via trade.
  8. Well that was fun while it lasted. No way we were going to offer him 3 years and I'm glad we didn't. My guess is that it will be in the $18-20 million per year range.
  9. Makes sense but difficult to believe they couldn’t just sign one of the many free agent shortstops.

  11. Yeah I have little interest in extending Adames. Would much rather extend Burnes or Woodruff.

  13. If you’re going to commit to the rookies, then commit to the rookies. We don’t need AAAA guys taking playing time away from them.
  14. Yeah I agree that a divorce is likely but I just figured they'd tender him a contract and then trade him for whatever they can get.

  16. A little over 6 hours to go until the deadline. I think they end up non-tendering just a few guys - mainly bullpen arms like Gustave, Gott, etc. I know he's a big clubhouse guy but it's probably in the team's best interest to move on from Suter. Just seems silly to pay him $3 million or whatever he's projected to get. The big surprises would be if they non-tendered Renfroe, Hiura or Houser.

  18. Couldn't agree more. I am not in the least bit interested in signing someone to play DH. That should go to Yelich which would open up another outfield spot for Frelick.

  20. Seeing as how Wong was owed a $2 million buyout, it certainly makes sense that the Brewers would pick up his option and then trade him so that they owe him nothing in the end.
  21. Same here. Just go get Jansen who would cost much less.
  22. I still have hope for Garcia and Valerio so that would be a bummer to lose them, but not a big surprise otherwise.
