  1. Then we need to make an honest effort to build around them and I don't mean adding guys like Andrew McCutchen.

  3. Yeah these guys are all high draft picks and have produced in the minors. It's time to see what they can do in the big leagues. I have no problem keeping Renfroe around but Mitchell and Frelick should be given every opportunity to start OD.
  4. Good point about the salary cap. I'm sure that makes a big difference. Also, tampering seems to be a lot more rampant in the NBA so players and teams are negotiating weeks and probably even months before free agency even starts.
  5. MLB free agency moving at a snail's pace...a tradition like none other. If this was the NBA, things would have been wrapped up in 2-3 days.
  6. Yeah this almost seems inevitable, doesn't it? Seems reasonable to think we could work something out with Houston.
  7. Who the heck knows what to believe with these rumors. Yesterday, Rosenthal reported the exact opposite. The Brewers have to be the biggest mystery this offseason as far as which direction they are going to go.

  9. I really like this trade. You get a stud pitching prospect and two very good infield prospects who are major league ready. You'd just have to figure out what to with Wong if Lux is your 2B.
  10. Not surprised one bit. I’m sure we’ll hear his name come up all winter but would still be surprised if anything came to fruition.
  11. You have to pay to read it but Ken Rosenthal has an article about the Brewers possibly looking at trading Burnes and Houser this offseason. Don't know what was said beyond that.

  13. Chourio certainly holding his own in a league where the average age is 10 years older than him.
  14. Wong as DH? Now that would be bizarre.
  15. Not that there was much doubt, but I think this is more of an indication they aren’t going to a full rebuild or even a retooling yet. Not sure it means they’re going “all in” this year. I’ll believe they’re going all in when they make a major trade for a veteran or sign a big time free agent.
  16. Which is kinda sad. He already spent an entire year in AAA and put up respectable numbers. Maybe he’ll be a utility guy next year.
  17. Surprised but not shocked. I can understand this decision but hope they don’t just end up running it back with the same team as last year.
  18. What’s it going to take to get one of these guys? We could sure use an upgrade at catcher.
  19. The Brewers actually have until tomorrow to exercise Wong’s option and until Thursday for Boxberger, per McCalvy.
  20. It will be a staggered rebuild or retool, whatever you want to call it. No way they trade everybody in the same offseason. I think Burnes is the likeliest to go this offseason.
  21. Things will be happening fairly quickly. The Brewers have until this Thursday to exercise Wong's option and the non-tender deadline seems earlier than usual.
  22. From MLB.com (Adam McCalvy): • First day after the World Series: Teams can trade Major League players again, and eligible players become free agents. That starts a “quiet period” in which free agents may negotiate only with their own team. • Fourth day after the World Series: Last date to request waivers on draft-excluded players until next spring. • Fifth day after the World Series: Last day to reinstate players from the 60-day injured list. The “quiet period” ends and Major League free agents are free to sign with any club as of 4 p.m. CT. Minor League players become free agents at 4 p.m. CT, if applicable. Also the deadline for clubs to tender qualifying offers to eligible free agents and the last date to outright potential Minor League free agents before tendering them a contract. • Nov. 7-10: GM Meetings in Las Vegas. • Nov. 15: Deadline for players to accept qualifying offer is 3 p.m. CT. • Nov. 15: The deadline to add players to the 40-man roster to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft is 5 p.m. CT. • Nov. 18: Tender deadline. Often referred to as the non-tender deadline, 7 p.m. CT is the deadline by which teams must formally tender 2023 contracts to unsigned players, including their arbitration-eligible players. If a player is non-tendered, he becomes a free agent. • Dec. 5-7: Winter Meetings in San Diego, including the new MLB Draft lottery on Dec. 6 and the Rule 5 Draft on Dec. 7. • Jan. 13, 2023: Eligible players and their teams exchange arbitration figures. • Jan. 15, 2023: Start of the new international signing period. • Feb. 13, 2023: Brewers pitchers and catchers begin to report for Spring Training.
  23. I could see Texas being very aggressive in a pursuit of Burnes. They spent a ton of money last offseason on offense and could obviously use some upgrades to their pitching staff. I know it’s ranked high, but I’m not super in love with their farm system. Jung is a good fit because he plays 3B but I’m not crazy about anyone else.

  25. Isn't Baltimore known to be very conservative when it comes to trading top prospects or was that a prior regime?
