  1. I know there has been a number of people saying that CC is worth about 2-3 wins over the rest of the year. I believe that it could be much more than that. Let's revisit 2007 to illustrate my thinking. Sheets got hurt for a couple weeks, and the team went into a big tailspin. Losing Sheets for a couple weeks, should only be about a 1 win difference if the same math applies. Confidence and emotions can affect winning more than just the talents of CC. It can carry over to the 4 games that he doesn't pitch.
  2. That list is followed by Volquez, Harang, Lincicum, and Cain. Just a little bit of a difference.
  3. The walk was inexcusable. The two infield hits, are unlucky.
  4. To put things in perspective, a 15-12 record is equal to a 90 win pace. That being said, I predict 15-12.
  5. A cup doesn't prevent all injuries to the area. It just softens the blow. If you get hit square, or especially the bottom portion of the cup, you will still feel the pain.
  6. While there may always be a correct decision statistically, it may always be the best choice. For one, the players are human beings. They may be dinged up, or injured, which would not produce the same results that the "statistics" suggest. Also, just because a decision may be better statistically, doesn't mean it has to be made, because there may be a more advantageous edge later in the game, with the same player.
  7. Could have something to do with the $10k-$20k initiation fee too. There are enough other great golf courses around that don't require that kind of change.
  8. He didn't mention walk rate, he mentioned ERA, so that's what I responded to. If he had mentioned his peripherals were bad, I would have agreed.
  9. 3.90 is not a bad ERA.
  10. Yes. Andy Hawkins pitched a no-hitter and lost 4-1 or something like that.
  11. I guess there is no limit of players per team, as the A's have 5 players in the game.
  12. As opposed to Counsell who has been a starter in the league for years and still is. You are half right. Counsell has been a starter for years, but he isn't anymore.
  13. not saying Yost had to put him in there. It just seems that lately he's been completely buried on the bench. Because he is not that good. There is a reason he has always been a bench player.
  14. Well done, Mota. Now lets score some runs.
  15. Definitely. You don't want to get your .400 obp guy into the game too soon. Yeah, Dillon is a consistent .400 obp guy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif Keeping Counsell in versus the righty was definitely the correct call.
  16. Bill Hall will be the savior today.
  17. St. Louis has not played Arizona, Atlanta, NY Mets, or Florida yet. That is 4 of the better teams in the NL. Things will only get tougher for them as the season goes on.
  18. Sadly, it is higher than that of Weeks, Hall, Hardy, and Kendall also.
  19. Derek Jeter? Edit: Andruw Jones?
  20. I'd suggest whoever is getting sent down/out when Riske gets activivated comes in, no sense extending Bush or burning another BP arm. Riske was activated before today's game. Tavares was sent down.
  21. I would have walked to Toronto to punch Gritstein in the face if he'd broken up a no-no bid by the Brewers. You would be very disappointed, because he is in Milwaukee right now.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Looking at the replay of Fielder's HR, it looks like the umpire was running out to make sure it was jammed. Once Rios grabbed the ball, he could not call it a ground rule double. If Rios just leaves it, the umpire would have called a double.
  23. How about a HR for Bush here? At least he can say he did something then.
  24. Anyone else hoping for a quick, 3-up 3-down inning for the Brewers here?
