  1. Isn't the Brewers record 13-3 in Vargas starts? I'm guessing with Davis instead of Vargas in the rotation, the Brewers would be in 2nd place right now.
  2. This is bad news since the season starts next week. Oh wait, the season doesn't start for 3 months. It's all just posturing and wanting attention at this point. Yi will be in a Bucks uniform this season. Can I find Vegas odds on this somewhere?
  3. I agree, here's hoping for a good dose of karma to stop him short. For a good laugh, check out espn's poll question that's up now. "Do you think Bond's knowingly took performance enhancing drugs?" Are the results enough evidence to suspend him?
  4. Per Melvin on WSSP, Parra is not up for sure. He was just held back from the flight to New Orleans. They are waiting to see how the Spurling issue goes, as well as Sheets MRI today.
  5. One last bump for the weekend. I know one of the silent auction items is a bat autographed by both Prince and Rickie. Stop out and have a good time.
  6. If you're in the Grafton area this weekend, stop by Centennial Park. The Mike Boesch Memorial softball tournament will be played there. Besides softball, there is plenty of food, beer, raffle prizes, and silent auction items (including autographed Brewers items). It is a good time, and supports a great cause. Edit: ALS is better known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
  7. You mean he can't really see into the future?
  8. Who says Jenks can't hit lefties?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. I believe it is 3.1 PA per team game to qualify. So Braun would need a total of 257 PA (83 * 3.1) after today's game to be eligible. He has about 140 AB's, but not sure about total PA. He still has a way to go to be eligible.
  10. Did you see who was in 14th in ERA for the month in the link Rluz provided? None other than our own Dave Bush.
  11. Speaking of ESPN, go to their home page and vote for Damien Miller for performance of the week. He is in 2nd right now behind Clemens winning #350.
  12. Since the Brewers get the Pirates top two pitchers in games 3 and 4 of the series, that means the Cubs will miss both of them in their 3 game set this weekend. Tough break for the Brewers, but can't really complain as they have been missing a lot of top starters lately.
  13. Anyone else think that Yost would have let CV pitch the 8th if he had gotten through the 7th easily?
  14. Let's get a few runs here and let Spurling close out the last two innings. Uh oh, Marmol is in. He has been pretty nasty lately.
  15. Wow, two first time poster's on page 9 of an in-game thread. Russ, what are the odds of that happening on June 29th. Welcome aboard guys. PS - Well done Wise!
  16. Did Mench just walk on four pitches?
  17. I don't think they took a lot of pitches early. They just hit a lot of foul balls. Every batter was hitting 3 or 4 foul balls.
  18. I am interested in seeing how Yo does against a non-horrible line-up. Let's face it, neither the Royals, nor the Giants lineups are very scary. The Cubs at least have a middle of the pack offense. Of course, once you get past the big 3, they don't have a lot, but still more than the other 2 teams Yo has faced.
  19. Well, if you're going with Cub fans, you can just turn to either side and do your business. It might make them smell better.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. mikevan, I hope you have an isle seat. If things get hairy near the end, you better be headed toward the bathroom.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. I guess the question in this Redd debate is whether he can lead a team to a championship. My answer would be a definite no. He can be a complimentary piece, like alongside Lebron, but he will never be the focal point of a serious contender. I was upset when the Bucks offered him the max contract. However, with the state of the Bucks and the salary cap system in the NBA, I now think it was a good move. They still need an elite player to move Redd down to second fiddle. Is that elite player in the draft? The one I see with the best shot is Brandon Wright (of the guys that may be available at 6). If they get Wright, they would definitely need a new point guard (Billups?), because Bogut and Wright would never see the ball with Williams and Redd on the team.
  22. Nothing like listening to a Brewer game on a Friday afternoon. Helps pass the time to the end of the work week.
  23. This morning, I finally saw Prince's slide into 2nd. Wow, was that ugly. Both for Loretta's leg and Prince's gut. Please don't slide headfirst again, Prince.
  24. So how many autographed bats do you think they'll have to give away today? 1? Also, great job by the Brewers bullpen today. Five shutout innings to keep the team in the ball game.
  25. Have the Brewers had a walk off win this year?
