  1. I would keep Wolf in until they get at least one more runner. Especially since Axford pitched two innings yesterday.
  2. JJ Hardy was used as a pinch runner yesterday. Don't the Twins have a pitcher that would be faster?
  3. True, but Cain is a career .667 hitter. That beats Edmonds .600 average vs. Karstens.
  4. It sounds like he is not going to sign.
  5. Good thing Marmol's an idiot, or the Brewers would have lost. Why did he catch Gomez's bunt? Gomez was just standing in the box. He had an easy double play if he just lets it drop. It looked like that's what the 3rd baseman was trying to do.
  6. He is thinking that Hart is going to hit a home run every at-bat, so Gomez becomes a second lead-off hitter. I'm not sure if that should be in blue, because I have no idea what Macha is thinking these days.
  7. Riske was already on the DL. Moving him to the 60 day, clears a 40 man roster spot. Stern will be sent down for Gomez.
  8. Well done, John Brew!!! My wife and I are just finishing week 11 of the classic version. So far, I have lost about 23 pounds, and have so much more energy. While I haven't had the best diet, it has been much better than before the workouts. The hardest part was giving up caffeine. I can't wait to start playing softball, and see the results on the field. You are right about the time commitment. The day of rest built into the program helps. If there was a day we were too busy, we would just push everything back a day, and skip the scheduled day of rest. We will definitely be doing another round or two once the summer ends.
  9. Or just slide Gomez down to 9th, and slide everyone else up a spot.
  10. Russ, are they any stats showing how hitters hit down one run vs tied vs up one run? I am just curious if that would have an effect on win probabilities. Also, I tend to agree with Topper that the run probabilities are way too generic to make concrete decision off of. Are the results the same if you bunt a guy to 3rd and have Braun and Fielder coming up versus Kendall and Hart coming up? To get more accurate, but still far from concrete, you would have to compare the run expectancies with the win percentages associated with each amount of runs scored (i.e. what is your percentage if you are down one vs tied vs up one vs up multiple runs). If the largest increase is from down one to tied, would you not play for one run? That may also vary on your opponent. It would be different if you are playing the Yankees vs playing the Nationals.
  11. Maybe he can get an out on his 31st pitch of the inning.
  12. 15 baserunners in 7 innings, and only 2 runs. Somebody needs to get a clutch hit.
  13. How much value do you put into his quality of life before the free agency? I am sure he enjoys his restaurant and t-shirt company, and has plenty of capital to invest in them. He may not have had those (yet) without the deal. Like he said when he signed, there is nothing he can't buy now that could buy with the extra "potential" money.
  14. Actually, they'd play Syracuse in the Sweet 16 in that scenario.
  15. Apples, bananas, peanuts (other nuts can be good also), string cheese (made with skim milk), oatmeal. If you have the P90x nutrition guide, that could be a good starting point, even if you don't follow that plan.
  16. My guess would be that they have a deal for Ridnour in the works and needed a backup point guard. Even though Ivey is horrible, he can spell Jennings for a few minutes per game. Plus, the Bucks get a 2nd rounder that is a higher pick than where Meeks was drafted. The only way it makes sense is if they have a bigger deal in place with Ridnour.
  17. My wife and I just started the program last night. Pretty sore this morning. I am excited to do the plyometrics this evening. I believe the toughest part of the program will be the diet, since I am a very picky eater.
  18. I believe the commentators said that he screwed up on his last jump. He was supposed to grab his skis, or something like that, but totally missed. To the casual observor, like myself, I thought it looked fine, but they saw the miss, and so did the judges.
  19. Just be careful that you won't fall into AMT, and lose the benefit of part of your deduction.
  20. Just a few items: 1. The cost savings on road maintenance could be done much cheaper. According to the linked report (this is an older report - Robert or Bruce would you have a more updated report?), you would just have to remove 2-3 semis per week to negate the potential savings from people riding the trains. I'm sure that could be done for cheaper than $1 billion over the next 10 years. "Cost. One legal 80,000 pound GVW tractor-trailer truck does as much damage to road pavement as 9,600 cars."http://www.saferoads.org/issues/fs-trucks.htm 2. How will this ease any congestion in Milwaukee or Madison? People will still have to drive into Milwaukee to get to the station, and drive from the Madison airport into the city. Some traffic can be alleviated by shuttles, but that would primarily be at the destination side. 3. In regards to the 30% increase in popution, there will also be a great increase in technology. Many more people will be able to work from home, or alter their travel times to work by being able to do some things at home. There will also be increased technology as far as vehicle mileage efficiency, and road construction, to make them last longer.
  21. I thing the circular logic comes into play if the tiebreaker is for the #1 seed. How can the second tiebreaker be record vs. the #1 seed if that is what they are determining?
