  1. Not so fast. Oliver Drake is in for Cleveland. Not sure a 10 run lead is enough.
  2. Washington may be 10 games better this year, just with their coaching change.
  3. He's afraid of a four point play, but not fouling on a rebound or desperation three? Makes zero sense.
  4. Div 1 college football is the only sport, in the history of all sports, where a team can win every single game in their season and not have a chance to win the championship. Even better, you can fail to win your division of your conference, and still have a chance at the championship while the conference champion does not have a chance at the championship. Something needs to change.
  5. I was really hoping Austin Jackson took off for first after the Yankees started celebrating. They dropped the third strike, and never tagged him out.
  6. Chapman blowing it in the 9th would work for me. Especially since it will be his 3rd inning of work on the night.
  7. I am not sure how to link, but the Astros got hosed on a HORRIBLE call by Joyce and his crew. They go to review on the play, but can't review the obvious mistake they made. Doesn't make much sense. Hopefully, it doesn't cost the Astros in their playoff race.
  8. Not as bad as the horrible call in the Indians/Astros game that cost Houston 2 runs. Still don't know how they couldn't correct that one on replay.
  9. I believe that is Grafton High School graduate, Conor Fisk, pitching against Brevard County tonight. Brewers drafted him out of high school.
  10. Surhoff, BJ
  11. Wrong, he is out if he is hit by a balled ball, the only exception is if you are hit by an infield fly coming straight down on your head while you are standing on the base. In all the baseball/softball leagues that I have umped, you are not out if you are on the bag and get hit with a batted ball, unless you intentionally make contact with the ball. Of course, I have never umped in the major leagues, so I am not positive on their rules. It would also be a very rare occurrence with leadoffs. Edit: According to the rulebook posted earlier, it looks like he would be out.
  12. Good call on the Pac-12. Kind of funny that AZ was your sleep pick after that statement. Only Oregon left from the PAC-12.
  13. Even the best hitters will fail 70% of the time. If you are down several runs it is definitely the right move to take a pitch. 2-1 is still a hitters count. A walk is almost as good as a homer in this situation. If Braun is up, and he is the tieing run, that is a totally different situation.
  14. The only reasonable explanation is the truth.....Bob Davidson was the ump. He is brutal.
  15. In 246 at-bats, Victor Martinez has 17 home runs and 17 strikeouts. That is almost unbelievable in today's day and age.
  16. All of the close pitches were in the same spot. He has to realize the ump is not calling that pitch a strike, and find a different location.
  17. The home run was not the problem. The three straight walks before the grand slam were.
  18. Would love it if the Bucks got Embiid or Wiggins, then traded back into the top 10 to get Gordon. They would have a very long, young nucleus with a ton of defensive talent.
  19. Could have. Could have turned out differently. I'm pretty confident it would have been different. He'd move Schafer over to 2B or single, and then the old fashioned sac fly. Throwing weeks out there was a guaranteed out. How could Gennett bat when he was already taken out of the game with the double switch fiasco in the 7th?
  20. That is only the case if the substitution is not verbalized to the umps. Roenicke verbalized the switch since it was part of a double switch.
  21. Smith should have thrown some warmup pitches while they were doing the review. Worst case is that he gets ejected. Then they can bring in Duke, or someone else to get fully warmed up.
  22. Luke Fischer has decided to leave Indiana. He would be a good fit at UW, but highly doubt he would transfer there since he would have to sit out two years, I believe.
