  1. I personally think it would be quite neat to have a live updating Twitter feed on the main page, of any brewers related tweet. Like: THIS No idea if it is possible, but figured I would toss it out there.
  2. It would suck to see Sheets and Cameron ink deals on the north side next year.
  3. So, I'm joining Twitter. First question, what does the "#" denote? I think I get "RT" and "@", but don't know the "#".
  4. Have there been any rumors about the $$$ expectations? 2 years, between $4MM and $6MM? EDIT: $7.5MM over 2 years - LINK
  5. Why you should be happy with this signing:
  6. Is Macha at the meetings? I know he's obviously a big part of the decision making process, but it's very conceivable that he's minutes to hours behind the goings-on, and minutes could be all it takes. Olsen's source could have been in the room with DM.
  7. Too many flyballs from Sherrill. He has a solid enough K/BB ratio, but he wouldn't do well in Miller Park. Mid-upper 3 ERA type. Good yet, not great, and not good enough to part with Bush, IMO.
  8. Who do we sign for the OF? Ryan Church would be lateral at worst, and was just DFA'ed by the Braverinos.
  9. From what I'm reading, it sounds like Wolf might just be using the Brewers contract offer. MLB Trade Rumors said his agent was shopping the offer around. My guess is we are the only to offer three years, and he's using that to get some other team to match the length.
  10. Not to mention its a rather archaic way of projecting his performance going forward.
  11. It does not inspire confidence that he went 6 years between good seasons. I wouldn't mind Wolf for one year. 3 will be disastrous, whether because of injury or ineffectiveness. He's just not that good and has had plenty of bad years. If they sign him to a $9 million per year contract, the best they can hope for is that he earns the money. There is far more downside than there is upside is signing a guy like him, as we saw with Suppan (and Looper). I'd rather throw that $27 million at Sheets, Harden, and Bedard all for next year. If 2 of them were able to stay healthy, the Brewers would have the best staff in the NL. If they all got hurt, the team wouldn't be any worse off than they will be with Wolf.I think he's been good for the past three seasons. 2004-2006, he had GB/FB rate problems with the number hovering around .80, and therefore held a high HR rate. In 2006, his problems were compounded when his K/BB ratio bottomed out to 1.33. Since 2006, he got his GB/FB ratio back above 1 over the three seasons, and his K/BB rate was back to his early 2000's range. It was just a little bad luck that caused his ERA to lag behind his rejuvenation. I think his 2008 line is about what we should expect moving forward. Mid-2's K/BB, and an ERA between 4.00 and 4.50 over the life of a three year deal. I don't think he's comparable to Suppan. He's no sure thing, but he's definitely got a solid arm.
  12. Does this go here? Jerry Crasnick reports Geoff Jenkins has been working out and hopes to land a bench role for next season. Apparently he's been practicing his first base. "Jenkins is taking grounders at 1B and working out in the OF. His agent, Damon Lapa, says he's looking for a "Matt Stairs type role.''

  14. I like the Minneapolis and St. Paul characters that will shake hands then the Twins hit a HR. I dislike the RF bleachers that hang over the playing field. I mean, who designs this stuff? Stupid things like that are the reason we need replay for HRs, which is an annoying process.
  15. I agree that this is a Mike Rivera replacement. I still think Lucroy will get a long look in the spring, but his odds of opening with the Brewers just plummeted. Zaun and Kottaras should make a not-terrible timeshare for the first few weeks/months of the season. But yeah, this only makes sense if Rivera is subsequently non-tendered.
  16. Northern or the south? Blarney Castle was kind of neat.
  17. The only call the sticks out in my mind as absolutely terrible was the missed offensive goal-tending on Duke in the last minute of the game. That was blatantly still in the cylinder when he threw it down.
  18. Millwood's not terrible, but "ugh" I want to know who's idea it was to target him. He had the worst K/BB ratio of his career last season, and his lowest GB/FB since 2003. His FIP was 1.13 runs higher than his ERA, that's the worst difference in any year of his career. The timing couldn't be any worse. He's a terrible trade target.
  19. Are you saying that Escobar and Gomez are nowhere near as good as those two defensively?I think he's saying that if we have $20 million tied up in 6 wins provided by Hardy+Cameron, freeing up $20 million to spend on pitching isn't likely to net 6 wins of pitching. We might be getting more balanced at the expense of getting worse overall. We'll have to see what DM has up his sleeve.
  20. You're right. You lowered yourself to his or her level to balance out the playing field.
  21. Just one or two guys, coach. Plenty enjoy your presence here.
  22. Okay, they do not need to be playing full pads football at age six. But wow, nice hits.
  23. I've used Freeforums.org, no real complaints for just a small fantasy football message board.
  24. There's a lot of wishful thinking in this thread. If Josh Johnson is available, we'll won't be the only team after him - we'll have to beat other team's offers as well. FWIW, Fangraphs had Johnson rated to have the 30th most trade value in the entire league, just ahead of Kinsler and Pedroia. Fielder was 50th. The minimum it would take Gamel and at least one other top ten prospect, and another valuable piece on top of that.
