  1. I live in West Allis. I woke up the other day, and there was a shopping cart in my front yard. I'm not a fan of West Allis.
  2. http://sports.yahoo.com/m...amp;prov=ap&type=lgns This seems strange. Why would you wait until now to have surgery? Oh, well. I guess this is good news for the Crew. He was pretty good against us last year.
  3. I haven't seen this anywhere else, but last night on the news, they said that Sheets was close to signing a 2 year deal with the Mets. I think it was channel 4.
  4. Old school typewriters did not have a "0" or "1" key, either. I had completely forgotten about that. I think you had to use a capital O and a lowercase l.
  5. I'm not going to get too excited until this deal is finalized. It would be great to have him aboard, but if not, I'm sure things will still work out fine for us. Closers are important, but if we don't get him, that just leaves us with more money to sign a starter, which I think we need more than a closer. I actually like the idea of letting CV take a shot at the closer's role. I guess I won't be too heartbroken if we don't sign him, but if we do, I'd be okay with that, too.
  6. I'm pretty sure that if you refuse the breathalyzer, you license is automatically suspended. I'm not sure for how long, but I think it's for a year. If you take the breathalyzer and are subsequently found guilty, I believe the suspension is only 6 months. That's why refusing to take a breathalyzer is such a stupid move. You immediately give yourself another six months of riding the bus.
  7. I got poker chips, and promptly lost $500.00 playing blackjack. Good thing it was play money.
  8. I'm working until 8:00 tonight. I think I'm going to buy a book on my lunch break.
  9. I have a long drive ahead of me this afternoon. The worst thing about driving in weather like this, other than the extended travel time, is having to wash the crap off of the windshield every 30 seconds, especially when there are little ice chunks stuck to your wipers. That drives me crazy.
  10. How does a lock out work exactly? Do a certain percentage of owners have to agree? If that's the case, I could see this being the proverbial straw that puts enough owners over the edge.
  11. Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
  12. I'm not sure how accurate it was, but I hit 83 once on a video pitching machine at fanfest before the 2002 all star game at the Midwest Airlines Center. FWIW, I struck out a virtual-Ritchie Sexson on 3 pitches.
  13. If it's true, that's great news!
  14. Looks like he'll be a backup in Chicago. Better them than us, I say. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/a...chc&partnerId=rss_chc
  15. http://milwaukee.brewers....ws_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil Cappy has been re-signed on a minor league deal with lots of incentives. This could provide some pitching depth, which we desperately need.
  16. It seems to me that the Yankees need to trade for Cameron more than the Brewers need to trade Cameron. I would just sit on Cameron and go into the season expecting him to be the centerfielder and wait for the Yankees to offer something closer to equal value than an underachieving centerfielder and a crappy pitcher.
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/...anks-trade-hits-roadblock Fox Sports is reporting that the trade has hit a road block. It sounds like Doug has not lost his mind, after all. No way do we give them Cameron and money for anything less than Cabrera and a pitcher.
  18. Did not say anything about trading Fielder. Said that Fuentes would be too pricey. He also said that Rickie Weeks is still the 2nd baseman, citing his runs scored capabilities. Also, they are looking at inviting Gamel to spring training, but they have Hall and Lamb to cover 3rd if Gamel needs more time.
  19. A few points so far: Says they are going to pass on Hoffman. Says Villanueva could be potential dark horse for closer. Says Defilice could be long man. Says McClung could potentially be 5th starter. Says they've had discussions about moving Hardy to 3rd.
  20. okay, how about this...instead of a hamburger bun, use two donuts. That way you can have it for breakfast.
  21. peanut butter and jelly in the same jar.
  22. I tried to listen to the whole thing beginning to end. I made it all the way through the 1st song, and that took a lot of willpower to not skip to the next song after about a minute. Maybe if I listen to it a bunch of times, it will kind of grow on me, ala "Co-stan-za!" But I doubt it.
  23. The list begins and ends with Qdoba's chicken queso burrito.
