  1. Braun has got to come through here. Get atleast one more in
  2. If we win tonight we would be one game away from a freakin World Series. Definitely feeling good about tonight. Both pitchers are more than capable of throwing a gem though; Garcia has been tough on us in STL. I think tonight is finally the night where Weeks comes through. It will be interesting to see what TLR does if they fall behind early; his bullpen is gassed already can he really use them for another 5+ innings tonight?
  3. It is pretty crazy that Krod, Hairston, and organ were all picked up for next to nothing and all are huge parts of the team. Then when you start to consider the prices we paid for Axford, Saito, Hawkins, Kotsay, etc Melvin really got a ton of bargains recently that were major successess. The only utter failures that comes to mind in 2011 at the moment are Wil Nieves and thinking that Loe was a late inning reliever. Obviously the Brewers had a great core already but Melvin did a tremendous job of filling in the gaps for next to nothing (Other than Marcum and Grienke obviously)
  4. Weeks has to start every game the rest of the postseason. I have no problems with RR's strategy of putting COunsell in as a late defensive replacement either. CC is about as dependable as you can get out at 2nd. I think we see the normal lineup against the lefty tonight and the normal lineup against a righty back in MIL.
  5. Starting Marcum if we win Game #5 is a no brainer; if we were to lose I guess I would still start him but also have Narveson and Gallardo on alert if he struggles early
  6. I think the time is still TBD. I believe it would be at 3PM if there is an ALCS Game #7 and 7 if the ALCS finishes on Saturday. The bigger question is can we really trust Marcum in Game #6 (Especially if we were to lose Game #5). I don't want to be in RR's position if he has to make that decision in a do or die game.
  7. Gotta feel good with a potentially dominant pitcher going in Game #5 against a guy we roughed up big time in game #1. Really need to see the dominant Grienke for the 1st time in these playoffs
  8. I hope your seriously not comparing people wanting to sit Hart a day to actually thinking people would want to sit an MVP because he had one bad game.
  9. Scared out of my mind here. Axford better be up just in case
  10. No kidding; two more runs please. Atleast Albert can't tie or give the Cards the lead
  11. Come one just get 9 more outs here. I have confidence in Saito; but I want as big of a cushion as possible goin into the 8th with Krod. Getting this game would be huge; losing would be devastating
  12. The only way Wolf goes out for the 7th is if we score a couple runs; obviously that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Keep tacking on runs here; can never have enough with the pop the Cards have. RR definitely mismanaged the 6th; should have gone with Luc but got lucky, was OK with Wolf hitting, not OK with him bunting, and would have rather seen Gomez PH. Its in the past now; just win the game
  13. You gotta pinch hit here for George. I don't care who it is; Lucroy or McGehee but you gotta play match up here to get another run. I don't care if Wolf does have to go out there
  14. So who is going to hit the pop fly 3 run homer to RF this inning?
  15. BA is trying way to hard to not appear a homer. Stupid Theriot Atleast we aren't losing by 6 runs like we have been on the road.
  16. Braun should actually try to hit meatballs down the middle this time (It worked with Morgan to LF; hopefully it works here to)
  17. Whatever happened to the Morgan who slapped singles over SS? One of those would be nice right here.
  18. Holliday completely missed that and it still went out. He didn't even no where the ball was.
  19. How Kotsay looked yesterday has NO bearing on what to expect today. Kotsay and Hart aren't even close offensively. I will assume Hart is too sick to play as to not hurt my head anymore. Baseball fans are always sort sighted with regard to estimating player performances but I gotta say, you guys are really stepping it up for the playoffs. So the fact that Hart is like 0 for his last 12 and has looked pretty bad doing it should have no bearing on if he should play in the game? Obviously long run Hart is better than Kotsay; but we don't have the benefit of letting Hart work out of his struggles anymore. If he is sick at all that is even more reason to give someone a shot. I get it since Hart is a better player than Kotsay we should just let Hart go 0-20 in the series and ride off in the sunset because we put the best player out there. Its not like we are talking about benching Braun or Fielder here.
  20. Gomez would have gotten that ball for sure; Morgan has looked pretty inept lately in CF taking some horrible routes. I am not so sure Morgan would have caught it either (Although obviously he would have had a better chance). Kotsay obviously produced offensively but also hurt us in CF in the 1st inning and also cost us on the basepaths in the 1st inning with quite possibly the most unathletic slide I have ever seen a big leaguer make. He kind of made up for his ineptitude later in the game but the damage has been done. I am not going to completely say the loss last night was because of RR; only that his lineup decision in this case had a very meaningful effect on the game. Honestly Morgan has been horrible for almost the entire postseason; I didn't mind seeing Kotsay in there from an offensive standpoint. It was just unfortunate that the game was decided in the very first inning on a ball that Kotsay just wasn't fast enough to get to. A perfectly placed hit if you will.
