  1. I am happy they won a couple at SF; that just gives the Brewers that much more breathing room in potential playoff seeding. They missed both Cain and Lincecum in SF too; I am not to worried.
  2. I am pretty sure they would bring up De La Cruz to start right? He is obviously much more stretched out the Estrada. It wouldn't make any sense to bring him up to take Estrada's spot when Estrada probably can't go anymore than 3 innings. The guy is having a pretty darn good year at AAA
  3. Hey Hairston is getting a start!! Like the lineup
  4. Some dude on gateway redbirds is bragging about taunting Morgan and Braun out in the field last night. Says he heckled Morgan the entire game and Morgan gave him the "timeout" sign in the 9th inning. I am sure that "timeout" sign had nothing to do with the Brewer fans sitting in front of him. Don't think he quite gets it. But I am glad if he thinks Morgan was actually paying attention to him.
  5. Westbrook is beatable tomorrow; completely depends on what Wolf shows up and if Pujols decides to actually play against MIL. He has been brutal against us so far. It would be so nice to win the first two and have Gallardo going in Game #3 even if it is against Carp.
  6. Yeah I am probably not going to sleep anytime soon. One of Braun's worst games in his career and we managed to win; I'll take it. Braun has looked awful the last two games after being so locked in prior to that. Baseball is a funny game
  7. Yay, Mission accomplished for the series; now time to get greedy
  8. That entire redbirds IGT thread is one dude saying what happens every play. Jeepers. Marcum looking good; lets keep adding on here though.
  9. Corey Patterson batting 2nd is worse than Gomez batting 2nd, especially when John Jay a far superior player is riding the pine.
  10. This lineup would be crazy good when Weeks comes back if Yuni and Casey can continue to hit reasonably well. All those black holes we had in May and June are completely gone. I agree that this is the most excited I have been about series since 2008; I might have a heart attach when we play STL later in the year if the games are still this important. Really want a W tonight.
  11. Good news on the umpiring crew; I am not worried about any Brewers being thrown out because they don't throw at people; STL on the other hand........ I don't recall RR throwing intentionally at anyone all year; he certainly won't start in this series.
  12. If Braun or Fielder hit a home run early tonight, I expect LaRussa to throw at him next at bat.If that happens I sure hope the STL pitcher would get tossed rather than just issuing a warning. The umpiring crew this week better know what happened last week and just tell the managers before the game that there will be no warnings if there is an intent to hit a batter. I would hate Prince to hit a HR then next time up get drilled; both benches get warned, and the Brewers can't do anything about it. I doubt RR would ever throw at anyone though no matter what the circumtances; he just won't do it. He won't intentionally walk guys, he sure as heck won't intentionally hit anyone.
  13. I expect Cardinal fans to excessivly boo pretty much every Brewer; but especially Braun & Fielder. I expect LaRusse to complain at least one time about something dumb. I don't expect any beanball wars. I like all of the pitching matchups but all of the Cardinals starters can be incredibly dominant or pathetic; its hard to figure out which one it will be. Jackson is not going to give up 10 runs again tonight. I am pretty confident that the Brewers will take 2 out of 3 if they can get to 4-5 runs a game. I have a ton of faith in the pitching staff.
  14. I admit I panicked about Grienke; whats your point? Its not even close to the same situation. I am not really backing Yuni; I don't expect this hot streak to continue all year, I know he sucks at defense, and in no way do I want the guy back next year. I just find it ridiculous that people are ripping on him so much in the middle of an extended hot streak. No matter what the guy does, certain posters just go out of their way to hate on the guy any chance they get.
  15. I am just going to assume that every player who has ever had an extended hot streak has had a higher than normal BABIP. No one is expecting the guy to hit .400 the rest of the year. Even if he were able to hit .280 the rest of the way with decent power numbers I will be content. Yuni hasn't made many awful defensive plays this year; he has been pretty good converting "Outs into Outs" like Rock likes to say; of course the problem is turning non-routine grounders into outs which is something he can't really do. It amazing that there is now a 7 page thread started by someone praising a guy for going on a good hot streak which has morphed into "He still sucks". Just ride the momentum; when he crashes he crashes; but I am riding the Yuni train right now.
  16. So if Carp is pitching Thursday who are they skipping? Lohse?
  17. Yeah as long as they don't get swept they will leave with a 2 game lead. The pitching matchups are pretty favorable but I really have no idea how the series will go. The Brewers are obviously playing well so I'll hope for 2 of 3 and be OK with 1 of 3.
  18. Bout darn time they do something good; they will still find a way to blow it
  19. Nice series Marlins; jeez Atleast STL likely will gain only 1/2 game in the standings despite sweeping the Fish.
  20. Marlins blew a great chance to break open that game; men on with the middle of the order coming up and they only managed one.
  21. This Pirates collapse is just amazing; they have gotten pummeled by the Cubs and Padres at home. Ouch. As good as their pitching has been; it has been a trainwreck for them on this homestand
  22. Man even when Yuni is hot people have to rip on him. He is a crappy SS everyone knows that; get over it. Besides he probably not even the worst defensive player on the team; that goes to Prince.
  23. Marlins are threatening here. It looks like Vasquez got thrown out on the dreaded contact play.
