  1. If we were to become sellers, I think there are really only 3 MLB players that should be completely untouchable right now and they are Prince, Braun, and Gallardo. I would trade anyone else on the team if the price is right. I guess if Boston offered Lester, Ellsbury, Bard and change I might even consider trading Prince. So even he would be available, but the price for him would be so astronomcial that I don't think any team would do it
  2. Rotoworld is now saying the Lilly is going to be hitting the DL. Sore shoulders are definitely not a good thing
  3. It isn't inconcievable that both Escobar & Hardy could be traded. Doug could trade Escobar now and Hardy in the offseason. Yeah he would have to find a replacement, but if the players gained in the trades are good enough I am fine with finding some sort of stopgap at SS through FA. Heck we are already paying Hall next year, stick him back at SS if you have too. SS isn't a premium offensive position anyways, if we can improve our offense at the catcher position it is probably a wash. Not sure what the FA SS crops looks this offseason.
  4. I didn't say that I thought he would, I am just hoping he doesn't. If either one of those guys are traded the acquired player better also be here next year.
  5. It does seem a little unecessary to include Wallace in a deal for 2 months of Holliday. This obviously would make the Cards a better team, pretty obvious that they are going for it this year in a mediocre division. I just hope Melvin doesn't just try to match this trade and do something equally stupid like trade Escobar or Gamel for a 2 month rental.
  6. The Jays have a better catching prospect, JP Arencibia, in AAA. If the package includes Gamel, wheres the SS they want? You have the value right, but haven't addressed their needs. Your correct in that Parra doesn't need to be part of this deal. Ok: Gamel, Peralta, Scarpetta, Cain, & Brewer. I am sure with them getting rid of Halladay and Rolen shortly that they can afford to get a MLB SS by means other than the Brewers trade. Hell maybe they think Bill Hall could still be a SS Gamel, Peralta, Amundsen, Hall, and 1/2 of Hall's salary next year for Halladay
  7. I guess I don't know why a package including Gamel or Escobar, Salome, Peralta, and Scarpetta/Amundsen wouldn't be enough. That is 4 of our top 15 prospects already including 2 of our top 5, if the Blue Jays are going to ask for more than that I doubt they trade him because I don't think anyone will be willing to give up more.
  8. The only players that I am fairly certain will be gone next year are Hoffman, Looper, Hardy, and Kendall. After that who the heck knows. I think Cam will be brought back because Cain just isn't going eb ready considering he missed so much time this year. The offseason after 2010 is going to be the one that makes or breaks the Brewers for the foreseeable future. Some big salaries will be gone (Hall & Suppan), Fielder will only have 1 year left before FA and could possibly get traded, Gallardo & Parra are fully entrenched in arby, and a lot of our pitching prospects are expected to produce for 2011 (Rogers, Braddock, Jeffress, Arnett, Peralta, etc). We are also going to be banking on Escobar, Gamel, Salome/LuCroy, Cain, and Green being major factors in the big leagues. In short there are a lot of huge questions marks facing this team the next 2 years.
  9. There is no way in heck I would ever think of trading Fielder but the return from a trade would be just ridiculously huge. There is a point to be made that the return for Fielder after this year would be much higher than after next year due to his pending free agency after 2011. I mean the Brewers could and would demand probably 3 of an organizations top 10 prospects and probably another 2 from their 10-20 group. It would be impossible to immediately replace Fielder but in the long run it is probably in the Brewers best interest to get as much talent as possible for 2012, 2013, and beyond. Of course I still am hoping for a miracle contract where we get Fielder for another 4 years or so
  10. I would prefer dealing Gamel. Escobar plays the premium defensive position and is adequate enough on offense to be an above average overall SS. Plus we don't have a whole lot of depth at SS below Escobar. It is Escobar, Hardy, or ?. With the overall lack of defensive abilities in the organization I think we have to hang on to what we have, especially if they have offensive talent. You don't hit .300 in consective years with at least adequate power and not have offensive capabilites. He also has the potential to be a major base stealer. Don't get me wrong, I like Gamel, but I think he would be much easier to replace on the 2010/2011 team than Escobar. I also think Gamel has more trade value than Escobar especially if he is traded to a AL team. We have Taylor Green who looks more than capable of playing 3rd for the Brewers. 1st base, where Gamel would get moved to if Fielder is dealt, is also the easiest position to fill on the diamond (Obviously Fielders production will probably be impossibly to replace). If we have anyone raking in the minors they could easily be moved to 1st. Not to mention the potential for a 1st basemen in the return for Fielder.
  11. Figures. The Crew is going to make it easy on Melvin. If they keep playing like crap Doug won't have a whole lot of motivation to make a big move because it probably wouldn't have the desired affect anyways.
  12. Well this thread was timed perfectly. Braun has now homered for the 2nd time in 3 games. He has hit the ball bery hard this entire series
  13. Sooner or later this guy is going to get caught, no doubt in my mind. He probably didn't pull this one off without telling someone.
  14. The Bucks have signed Ersan to a 3 year deal so he will be playing back in the states this year. Good signing
  15. Can Katin really be any worse than Hart at this point? Katin may strike out a ton but Hart is also prone to looking like a little leaguer at the plate for weeks at a time. IMO Hart has been given his chance, perhaps its time to give someone else a shot in RF? If the Brewers were to trade Hart either before the all star break or during the offseason, Katin would be a cheap alternative that offers good power and adequate defense. I am sure Doug could find plenty of ways to spend Hart's salary on someone else as well perhaps pitching.
  16. I heard French Babes don't shave their pits. EDIT: I was hoping someone would get my reference.......
  17. I am a lawn freak. My destiny is kill every single blade of crabgrass and every dandelion in my lawn. I am pretty sure my neighbors think I am a nut job. Other than that I play some basketball and watch the Crew, thats about it
  18. Would we even want to re-sign him? Some team is going to give him at least $10 million over four years. Not a smart move with his injury history. I doubt he would have a chance of getting that much this coming offseason. He might get $10M but I don't see anyone making a 4 year commitment on him, especially when the Yanks and Sox aren't going to be bidders (Assuming)
  19. The fact that Mercury Marine might be taking its 1,900 jobs and moving to Stillwater, OK is bugging me quite a bit. I don't work there but I know a lot of people that do. Not to mention the residual effects if a city of roughly 40,000 loses 1,900 pretty high paying jobs. Unemployment would probably leave Janesville in the dust
  20. I actually bought my wedding ring and my wife's engagment ring from Kesslers in Appleton. I loved the place, the people were rather "unique" but they sure knew what they were talking about. I very rarely listen to the radio anymore, when I am in the car I either change the channel if their is a commerical on or I am listening to a CD. If you wanted to start a terrible TV commercial thread, then I would be all over that. I think Jerry Garcia would be near the top of the list.
  21. Thanks, now I have to watch Super Troopers tonight
  22. Sounds like Jennings had a real solid game yesterday. 22 points and 8 assists. Meeks also had another good game. I am pretty excited for these two. I still have hope for Alexander. I liked the pick at the time but he has a lot of work to do. He was a decent shooter in college but his shot is really awkward. With his athleticism he should be a much better rebounder and defender right now too.
  23. I would hope the ump got the same treatment
  24. I can't believe the evil bank tricked Dykstra into believing he could afford the Gretzky property. How evil of them!!!
  25. Hey give Kendall some credit, some times he managed to pop out to RF. He did have that Triple/Error earlier this year against the Twins, that is pretty much his only highlight this year.
