  1. They also need to fix the bagging system on those self checkout aisles. We bring our own reusable bags to the grocery store, and it completely screws everything up because A. You have to place the items in the bagging area and B. If you place your reusable bag the screen blurts out that an undetected item is in the bagging area. So right now we have to essentially bag everything in the store bags, check out, and then re bag everything into our. It a royal pain. Those bagging area have to awfully sensitive to alarm after placing a measly paper bag on the scale. We try to help the environment but clearly the nazi technology companies do not want us to succeed.
  2. I already tried that. It did alright, but it still left tons of streaks everywhere
  3. Anyone have any good ideas for cleaning an old fish tank that has a ton of algae caked on the glass. When I moved out of my mom's house after college I left my fish tank. Needless to say she didn't take care of it very well and it is incredibly dirty. I already tried just scraping at it with those pads but that did next to nothing. Are there any cleaning products available that could help me out? I previously had fresh water fish in there but I am going to make it into a salt water tank and I want this thing spotless before I go ahead and start my new water. I just bought a house and I think this fish tank (50 gallons or so) will be a nice conversation piece, so I want it looking really nice.
  4. I haven't read this entire thread but why would the Bucks lose their 1st round pick next year?
  5. Arod is coming out looking like a tool. 1st the drug he took wasn't even available 2001-2003 at pharmacies in the DR, then it comes out this his cousin a notorious (and banned) trainer basically followed Alex around the entire 2007 season. Arod isn't coming out of this smelling like daises right now thats for sure, more like the East River. Although I do hear swimming in the East River is wonderful for your back even if it does funk up your mattress.
  6. Vasgersion:"What does he do better than you?" Cecil:"Nothing" "Maybe he runs better, otherwise nothing" Seems the me that Prince is better at batting average, better at getting on base, and has a higher slugging percentage than his pops. Looks like Prince is better than his dad at a lot of things.
  7. I get that rotation spots get jumbled up in a matter of weeks but it makes no sense that Macha doesn't want his best pitcher to start opening day. I could careless about rotation spots but it seems odd to me that he will intentionally not pitch Gallardo despite him probably being far and away our best pitcher.
  8. The Journal Sentinel just said that Gallardo won't be the #1 starter because at Macha puts it "He doesn't want to put such a burden on such a young pitcher." Count me in as saying that is a pretty stupid argument. He also said it isn't fair to have Gallardo go against the other teams ace pitchers all the time. Yeah that will happen on opening day and that is about it. Macha sure doesn't seem to be showing a whole lot of logic in this decision. What is he going to give Dave Bush the opening day start against Lincecum because he doesn't think Gallardo can handle it? Yeah that shows a lot of confidence in Yo. Gallardo isn't going to be the 5th starter so this decision probably has little to no affect on his workload so this just seems like a dumb idea by Macha.
  9. There are a number of Dorito flavors that need to come back - Black Pepper Jack - Habanero - the Hot Wing/Blue Cheese combo
  10. Sessions > Ridnour Jefferson has a crappy contract. It is a good deal and I don't know much about the players coming this way but if I don't know much about them I assume that to mean they are nothing special. So this would be another of these cap deals. Are the Portland contracts expiring?
  11. Technically I suppose Doug still could since Crede remains unsigned I believe, where he would get the money to do would be a huge question mark though
  12. 2,000,000 seems incredibly low. They have already sold 1,000,000 and single game tickets haven't even gone on sale yet. At 2,000,000 that would be an average of roughly 25,000 a game. I think those totals are well in the past regardless of the current economy
  13. Thanks for all the help on this And That It looks like I have nothing to worry about since I bought the house in 2009. The question of buying in 2009 yet claiming on 2008 seems to have been answered in that repayment will not be required. I would have claimed the credit without knowing that I wouldn't have to pay it back so if it turns out that I don't then that is just gravy. I agree that it wouldn't make any sense for the IRS to exclude 2008 borrowers from this alteration. They would be making it way more complicated than it has to do and it is extremely unfair to have two different sets of rules for the same credit. I will probably file my taxes tonight and just get it over with. Yes I am doing my taxes on a Friday night.
  14. If the Brewers stay competitive the entire year I think they could approach 3,200,000. Realistically though I think the organization would be happy if they could consistently draw about 2,900,000 a year. Anything above that is probably gravy. I wonder what attendance the Brewers have budgeted this year. The unexpected attendance last year probably allowed the team to go "overbudget" and go get CC.
  15. Thanks, So could I theoritcally claim the $7,500 existing credit this year and then claim another $500 next year? It nice to know that everyone is fairly confident that there will be no payback at all associated with the existing credit or the proposed alteration. Can I just go ahead and do my taxes then? Nothing that this stimulus passes should change by tax return this year correct?
  16. So how soon would Tax Act alter there software to show the $8,000 credit rather than $7,500? I would hope they would do it ASAP after Obama signs the deal.
  17. I think you make a valid point, the WSJ link above says this only accounts for $2B of the total stimulus so it is rather miniscule in the grand scheme of things. But I agree that this probably doesn't do a whole lot to help the economy in the near future. There may be a rush by first time home buyers, but I doubt it. I was going to buy a house and take the credit before this whole stimulus thing came up, I generally think this whole stimulus won't do a darn thing to help the economy, but it will impact me on a personal level.
  18. Ramon Sessions is turning into a great PG when he is given opportunities. Mo Williams is also playing extremely well at Cleveland, he looks like he was the missing piece over there. He always showed glimpses with the Bucks but he is playing like a Top 5 PG over there
  19. "The proposal would eliminate the repayment requirement in an existing tax credit for first-time home buyers, and raise the credit to $8,000 from $7,500. Congressional aides cautioned Wednesday that the credit's size was still subject to negotiation" - WSJ Sounds to me like they have wiped out the payment for all first time homebuyers including those bought in 2008. To me it just looks like a revision of the existing credit. A Little off-topic but I do question how this actually stimulates the economy. There was already a $7,500 credit in place, and no one would have had to pay it back until their 2010 returns. So how the heck does that even stimulate the economy? I guess I shouldn't complain though. I hope this things wraps up quickly. Sounds like it will go to a vote today or tomorrow. I would like to get my taxes done this weekend, but I doubt the online tax software will be updated with this new change by then.
  20. Good deal, I am just going to claim it on 2008's (bought it a week ago today). The current credit is refundable correct? I don't know why the would change it. Converting it to non-refundable would take some cash out of the consumers pocket. I was under the impression that it didn't matter at all if you got a refund or paid in for this credit. If I already get a $4,000 refund then I will get $11,500. If I have to pay in $3,000 I will get $4,500 back and if I have to pay in $8,000 I will actually only have to pay $500. I hope my interpretation is correct.
  21. Sounds like the $15,000 or 15% tax credit was wiped out in the final version of the bill. I am not sure if the tax credit will be changed at all. If I had to guess I would say it will stay at $7,500 but you won't have to pay it back. That is certainly a sizable chunk of cash. The sad thing is that I plan on taking this credit but I will be using it to pay off credit cards and then put the rest in savings. So it will do absolutely nothing to stimulate the economy.
  22. It seems to me that this is a case of both Ben and the Brewers believing that time would heal this injury. Thats what the Brewers thought when they offered arbitration and that is what Ben thought when he declined. This isn't a new injury, it just failed to heal as the doctors had predicted. The Rangers doctors didn't find anything new, the same injury from August just failed to heal like I everyone assumed it would. I would highly suspect that Sheets has had other "Non Brewer" doctors look at it as well and they probably told him the same thing, thus he hasn't elected to have surgery yet. I suppose it is also possible that Sheets perhaps pushed to hard and too early in the offseason resulting in a re-aggravation. I could care less if the Crew has to pay for the surgery, when a payroll is $90 million I don't think a $10,000 surgery really matters a whole lot.
  23. I also use tax-act. I am a little nervous about filing my own taxes this year. I switched to an HSA health plan this year, I am a little confused about the filing process for that. Why wife made some side money working as an independent consultant so I need to file the SE forms, and I am going to get deduct the first time home buyers tax credit so it is way more complicated than I had ever done before. I am going to wait until after this stimulus package is passed to file my taxes, because apparently this credit is being altered so that I never have to pay it back (As it stands it is essentially a $7,500 no interest loan that you have to pay back over 15 years, $500/yr in additional tax). The stimulus proposed that homes bought in 2009 would not have to pay it back but it isn't clear if that is the case for homes bought in 2009 but claimed on 2008 returns. So I am going to wait, I might have to claim it on my 2009. But I have been very satisfied with Tax Act, never had any problems, I just hope my new complications don't make it too hard for me to do myself. I don't want anyone to know my finances except myself.
  24. You are right. I can't think of the player or agent right now either. It obviously wasn't Furcal because Furcal is a Boras client. For whatever reason I was almost positive that it was Furcal, I thought the Braves had an agreement in place but then that agreement was shopped to another team who ended up upping the offer
