  1. I am really contemplating if I should try to take him up on his offer. I mean it isnt to often you can get free tickets, but they will be in the 400's for sure.
  2. Is the Cubs game on WGN tonight?
  3. I would like to see the stats that show the Brewers bullpen as average. Maybe they exist but at least from a fans perspective the bullpen has been far from average
  4. Why would that be a perfect situation? Don't we want the Cubs/Harden to beat the Mets? If they are forced to play a make up game, I can guarantee that not only will the Cubs play their back ups, but none of their pitchers will pitch either. Wouldn't it just be better if Harden pitched 5 shut out innings, and the Cubs lead 5-0 when the rains come?I should have said the ideal situation so long as they can't get the full game in (or atleast 5 innings). If they are going to get rained out atleast make Harden pitch a couple innings first.
  5. Ideally the perfect situation would be to get in 4 innings and then the game gets called. Harden would be off the table for tommorrow and they still would be forced to makeup the game in its entirety. They way it looks the game should start on time, but around 7 or 8 is when it could start to rain
  6. I don't care if the entire weekend series gets rained out, just don't get rained out tonight. I don't want to face Harden tommorrow.
  7. Please God find a way to get Suppan out of the rotation. Can't Sheets have a miracle recovery and pitch on Friday with Bush on Saturday? O and please keep the rain away from the Cubs/Mets game tommorrow. You can wash out the entire Marlins series if you want, but let them play tommorrow My vent is? Why is it a night game tommorrow? On one hand the night game allows me to watch the game but the afternoon game pretty much wipes out half my work day. Tommorrow is going to be an excruciatingly long day. The Brewers have me to excited, I can't sleep
  8. Congratulations on the big time scoop but the constant pats on the back were a little much IMO. The operators of this site do a thankless job (for the most part) and they don't feel the need to tout there own horn. IMO an ego isn't required in journalism/media. But once again congrats on the scoop
  9. Don't say that, that only means he is due for one of those game shortly. Now would not be a good time
  10. That 9th inning was the definition of choking. I loved that it happened but that was absolutely brutal. Leadoff triple with the heart of the order coming up and they blew it. If that happens to the Brewers in te next couple days I am sure I would break something. This is going to be a hard loss for the Mets to come back from especially facing Harden tommorrow if they get the game in
  11. The way Fielder is going right now I can see a offseason marketing deal with the Jolly Green Giant. The guy is earning his money and then some this September.
  12. According to Accuscore despite the Brewers being down one game they are the favorites to win the wild card. They have the Brewers winning 75% of the time tonight and the Mets winning slightly above 50% of the time (in 1,000 simulations). I am not sure if they take into consideration the array of backups to play for the Cubs in any given game. I would have to think that if the Mets lose and Brewers win tonight, most models would predict the Brewers to win the WC.
  13. I think we should worry about Houston next year. Getting as close as they did this year will just make them want to spend even more money this offseason to get over the top. I am sure they think they are a starter away from the playoffs at this point. That is something I would disagree with since I think they are a 75 win team playing like they are an 85 win team.
  14. Has this blog posting from TH been posted yet? Seems like a conflicting report. Sounds like Gallardo doesn't believe he is able to start I talked with Gallardo and he said he probably wouldn't be able to start a game over the final week because he hasn't run the bases or batted in drills during his rehab. That would be asking a lot of a young pitcher with a bright future, so he said pitching a couple of innings out of the bullpen probably would be all he could do, and first the medical folks would have to clear him for that.
  15. Has Mike Rivera been sequestered for the OJ Simpson trial or what? Would it kill Svuem to let the guy earn his money every once in a while. Kendall isn't Geovany Soto for cripes sake. How many times will Cameron K tonight? The guy is in a major funk
  16. If the Brewers win the World Series I would be happy to bring back Dale next year. If we don't make the playoffs I have no problems with Melvin basically saying we are going in a new direction. If we do make the playoffs Svuem should at least get a chance at the job. If we win the World Series just give him a key to the city
  17. I am playing Bowl Bound College Football and I am trying to play with Middle Tennessee State. Its not going so well. I have 6 wins in 4 years. I am suprised I haven't been fired yet.
  18. Their is no doubt in my mind that the atmosphere will be electric tonight and as long as the Brewers are still in it. Brewers fans aren't really that stupid are they? You just don't boo a team that is a game out of the playoffs with 6 games to play. I might understand if they just come out and suck and keep losing but I don't see anyway that the fans just come out of the gates booing.
  19. With the Kapler injury he really had no choice but to suck it up and play IMO. Yeah maybe the Brewers could have given him an extra week when it originally happened but the only thing we heard back than was that it was feeling good. Perhaps it has flared up again. Despite his struggles I don't know if we have a better option to throw out their at this point.
  20. If the Cubs can somehow beat Santana tonight I would be in heaven. If the Mets lose the Santana vs. Marshall match up tonight I could see them absolutely falling apart (If they aren't doing it already) Hopefully Zambrano doesn't throw another 1.2 Inning 8 ER performance up there again If the Cubs can take 2 out of the next 3 and the Brewers can right the ship and sweep the Pirates we would have a 1 game lead with 3 to play. If that were the case I would like our chances. However I won't get greedy, I'll be happy with a tied wildcard. That scenario brings up an interesting point. Would you rather pitch CC Sunday on short rest or would you rather pitch him in the play in game and just hope that we make it that far? I would hate to have to throw Suppan/Parra/McClung in the play in game.
  21. So if he accepts arby we could theoretically just cut him and not pay him a dime? We wouldn't get any draft picks but we wouldn't be on the hook for $7M either?
  22. How about our matchups vs. the Mets matchups? I know it is Marquis vs. Neise tonight and Harden vs. Santana tommorrow. I am also skeptical that we will see Sheets again this year. That start looks like it could be Parra with perhaps an outside shot at Gallardo, although that seems doubtful.
  23. It wouldn't have mattered if Big Dog would have made the 8 foot jumpshot that he normally made with his eyes closed I was a Bucks fan back then I suppose but the deal breaker was the Ray Allen trade. My #1 was the NFC Championship from last year only because I attended the game and to lose like that after I froze my butt off the entire game was incredibly frustrating. The pain has lessened since because I realized that the Giants played a much better game than the Packers and frankly they deserved to win.
  24. Our bullpen this year has been one of the biggest disasters in the history of man kind. OK maybe that is a slight exaggerations, but if we had even an average bullpen we would be at least 3-4 games up in the wild card right now. If that could cost Doug his job that remains to be seen. I don't think it will but you never know, that bullpen has been a disaster ever since opening day
  25. I can't take this anymore either. Playoff teams don't A. Blow 4 run 9th inning leads and B. Score NO One with men on 2nd and third. I don't even know what to say anymore. I don't know if the Crew can come back from this one. As soon as the offense comes around the bullpen fails as soon as our pitching is good we can't hit. September couldn't suck any more than it does right now. The rest of my day is ruined because I am just incredibly pissed off right now
