  1. Who knows how the MILB rosters shake out but Helena and Wisconsin looks entertaining as hell.
  2. Hill is also a one year deal and I really don't know what to say if someone thinks Segura has a reasonable chance to be an all star again. He hasn't shown that ability in the last 2.5 years
  3. Seems like a good deal. Neither Segura or Hill are very good and so long as the Dbacks pick up a good chunk of salary it is a wash. Wagner and Anderson are probably similar talents but at least Anderson has shown some ability at the MLB level. Advantage Brewers. It really seems like we got Diaz for free
  4. It looks like confidence is building that there will be some sort of big snow event next Tue/Wed. But still to early to know where the rain/snow line will be. It doesn't sound like some big 2 foot monster storm through which is nice. Just keep it under a foot please. I would rather have snow than rain but maybe I am in the minority.
  5. Why the heck did the Padres even DFA him? Its not like their 25 and 40 man rosters are just overflowing with talent. We probably should be considered the odds on favorite in CF and we just got him and his 6 years of service time for a non-prospect. Odds are one of these Liriano, Ceccini, Middlebrooks, Broxton, Flores deals are going to look awesome in hindsight. It only really takes 1 home run to make all these minor moves totally worth it
  6. Hader isn't a Top 100 talent by one organization but is what the #6 LHP prospect in all of baseball according to another organization. That makes a lot of sense
  7. Hasn't Cappy always had a HR problem? I can't imagine Colorado Springs will be kind to him. He probably either makes the team or blow up in AAA and his career ends.
  8. I'll believe it when I see it. Braun is still a really good player with probably what could be considered an OK contract. Certainly not an albatross. Stearns isn't just going to trade a guy like that for salary relief. Especially since the payroll is already incredibly low; no real urgency to cut costs I would imagine. If I am trading Braun you definitely need some good pieces back. If they need to throw in some money fine; but 850-900 OPS / 130 OPS + guys with reasonable contracts don't grow on trees.
  9. Brewers should really have at least 4 guys in the Top 100 with Arcia, Phillips, Hader, and Lopez. Maybe Coulter, Williams, or Clark could sneak in at the back. Clark will rise in ranking rapidly but he did just only play in Arizona last year. Of course Brewers also have a whole mess of guys with the talent to be Top 100 with good seasons. Medeiros, Lara, Harrison, Gatewood, etc. I am sure I am missing others too
  10. I also read the entire article and in context I have no problems with anything that Lucroy said. He probably is getting towards the end of his career and can anone blame him for wanting to go somewhere and win. He specially said he hasn't asked to be traded and if he is traded he will come to Spring Training, be a good teammate, and not pout about. Seems like a perfectly reasonable opinion if you ask me.
  11. Honestly, definitely the minor leagues. There will be a ton of interesting players and teams to watch. The Link Reports might be the most viewed threads this year. That being said I will be most interested in the rotation next year. Its kind of a make or break year for Peralta and if we could get one of Jungmann, Davies, or Nelson to turn into a 1/2 type of pitcher that could move our competing time frame up. Not going to say it will happen but that is what I am interested in and hoping for. And of course the trade deadline will also likely be very important for the Crew, hopefully they have some trading pieces having really good years.
  12. The Jay Bilas tweets are pretty hilarious if you ask me
  13. Think I could get MA to sell me the team if I win the $1.3 Billion on Wednesday? Even the lump sum after taxes has got to be around $500 Million. That should be enough to get it done right?
  14. Ever since the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel went to a pay site several years ago all you had to due to get around it was block the cookies. Now all of a sudden that is not working and I can't read any more articles. Darn.
  15. Santana is a complete wild card in my opinion; but his success or failure won't make or break the Brewers. They still have Braun, Phillips, Reed, Davis, Clark, Taylor, Coulter, Harrison, and Roache among others. OF is perhaps the one place where they can afford to have a prospect or two flop just because there are so many options. If Santana doesn't work out for whatever reason the Brewers have 3 or 4 guys at AA or AAA that will be next man up including at least two in Phillips and Reed that can play CF.
  16. Bucks shouldn't be as crappy as they are and at least one would think that one more high lottery pick could maybe put the team over the top. The Brewers are obviously rebuilding as is the Badger Bball team. This year might be a little rough but it is kind of fun to watch a team that you don't expect to just kill the other team every night. Badger football team should be fine next yea assuming they kind find some sort of QB. Their D should still be very good. Packers problems go far beyond Jordy Nelson but I still expect them to compete year in and year out. They need some more speed on offense and a MLB.
  17. FDL was expected to get around 4-6 and the totals are ranging from about 9-12. It seems like across the board we got more snow than expected. Maybe the temp just dropped a little more than expected. I barely made it home last night up about a mile long hill. Once I got to the top a lot of cars were stuck spinning their tires. The first storm of the year always seems to be a learning experience for the snow removal and salt crews it seems
  18. Seems like the first real winter storm is finally here for most of if not all Wisconsin. In Fond du Lac we were supposed to get a mix of rain, sleet, and snow but as of right now we have gotten nothing but snow. Not too heavy right now but of course if it keeps going on like this all afternoon and night it will eventually add up.
  19. If we are really considering signing Pedro Alvarez to play 1st could Davis really be that much worse? Alvarez is mega bad; is Davis super mega bad? I do agree though that it makes a ton of sense to trade Davis because it is fairly obvious he isn't in the long term plans. If there is one area where the Brewers have a lot of minor league talent coming up soon it is in the OF and Davis is probably the least versatile player of all the potential OF options.
  20. Am I missing something here. Its Brett Phillips not Maverick Phillips right? Regardless if one is to assume that Brett will be ready to be the opening day starting CF in 2017; ultimately we traded for Broxton to be a 4th OF type for the long run. But of course its another layer of insurance if Phillips doesn't pan out.
  21. Well they are staring an 0-4 road trip in the face. Maybe they really do need another high draft pick to take the next step. Not sure what players the Bucks have that they could trade at the deadline and actually get a decent return. Mayo possibly. Plumlee will get traded for nothing. No other major contributor really seems like they could get traded
  22. Whatever happens the rest of this year the priority for next year in FA and the draft should be to find a PG with some semblance of a shot. Way to early to see what might be available in the draft; but at least in my humble opinion the biggest piece the Bucks are missing is PG that can put some more pressure on the defense with the threat of a shot. MCW is a great penetrator but his defenders play so far off of him it makes it difficult for him to run the offense and get guys good looks. He also is still turning it over a ton. Really wish the Bucks will be a position to draft Dunn but that seems pretty unlikely
  23. Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago said they were looking at Lucroy. Cubs would be looking to trade Montero.
  24. So apparently the Cubs are taking a look at Lucroy. We would need to get the moon to trade Lucroy to the Cubs one would think. Of course they have a whole bunch of guys I would love to get. Assuming the guys at MLB are already off limits I would go for Underwood
  25. Heyward is supposedly ranked as the best defender in the game; albeit as a RF. I am sure he would atleast be an average CF but he is spectacular in RF. He is fairly ordinary on offense. Chicago already has so much talent in their lineup that whatever Heyward gives them is gravy. Plus this also allows them to possibly flip Soler or a different outfielder for some help in other areas. 8 years and 185 is a lot of money for just an OK offensive player but its not a bad signing I don't think. On a related note are the Cards in trouble? They lost Lackey and Heyward. Holliday and Molina are old as dirt and Wainright is always hurt now. Are they declining?
