  1. I agree that once Garza comes back either Nelson or Fiers should be put in the bullpen and used in crucial situations. They both could handle it I think and could go multiple innings. If that happens and they can eventually get Henderson back it would make me feel a lot better. Smith has been pitching better of late too. Unfortunately I think any good bullpen pitcher worth a lick is getting claimed on waivers before the Brewers get a chance. Sure the crappy and or expensive relivers probably made it through waivers but those guys don't do the Brewers any good. It looks like DM needs to figure out the problem internally at this point. I thought I head the Brewers were runners up for Andrew Miller at the trading deadline; he would have been a pretty nice pick up depending on the price.
  2. How is it possible that Mark Reynolds has 21 home runs and 42 RBI's? He must be horrific with men on base.
  3. Booooo. Fiers is a big boy and you have a 5 run lead; just let him pitch and have someone ready in the bullpen.
  4. Jeez that was a nice quick inning; let him try to go 7. 14 K's, is that the most since Ben's 18K game in 2004?
  5. Fiers has been ridiculous. I would let him go another inning. Its great that he appears to have all his confidence back and is really throwing the ball fantastic. He could be a huge asset down the stretch in the rotation of bullpen.
  6. I thought we had a 2 game lead coming into today; not sure why. If Fiers is going to pitch like this we need to start considering him in the long term plans. Maybe they really could afford to not exercise Gallardo's option if you can get Fiers for similar or better production with a much lower price tag.
  7. Off to a good start and DET just took the lead against PIT with Scherzer on the mound. Hoping to have a 3 game lead after today is done
  8. Really good Medeiros has showed up today. Also noticed Harrison has missed a couple games now, did I miss an injury somewhere?
  9. I only said that because the intention for the opt out on Lebron isn't to leave but to increase his salary from the new TV deal. Love is a little trickier; he is only signed through this year but has given CLE a verbal commitment that he would sign an extension. Of course there is nothing binding there and he could leave. It just seems pretty likely that those 3 will be together for a while. I can't imagine Lebron leaving CLE a 2nd time and Irving is already signed long term. It is all up to Love; if he doesn't sign the extension then this is a horrible deal for CLE.
  10. I give them about a 5% chance of working something out for him. Dealing Russell would make sense though since they would be dealing from an area of strength. From everything Amaro said around the trading deadline he is probably going to ask for something stupid like Kris Bryant. The Phillies are terrible and are going to be terrible for a long time until Amaro decides to bring in some young talent. Having Hamels on the team isn't really doing anything right now.
  11. This probably will turn out to be a win win. Cleveland has Lebron, Love, and Irving for the foreseeable future and should be good for a very long time. They didn't necessarily need Wiggins to win a title. Minnesota obviously got two very high upside players for 1 season of Love. Both sides should be happy.
  12. I would rather have RR throw Wily for 130 pitches here than try to get through the 7th and 8th with our current dumpster fire of a bullpen.
  13. What about Goforth or Medlen from AA? They seem to be having decent years. It really seems that DM has got to make a bullpen move; Kintzler simply cannot be counted on as a late inning reliever right now. I don't want Wooten in that position either. Henderson will certainly help but there doesn't seem to be any indication that his return is imminent.
  14. Is it too much to ask from them to be the Royals 2.0? KC had a ton of highly touted offensive talent in the minors and they never lived up to expectations. If everything works out and they play to their supposed ability then that offense is going to be really good; but plenty of highly touted players have flamed out before so I will believe it when I see it.
  15. It will never happen but it would just be glorious to have certain NY and BOS All Stars implicated. It would be like Braun times a million. I heard as many as 90 additional players could be shown; if that's the case there is almost certain to be some really good players in there that could have a huge effect on numerous playoff races. Of course assuming details are released in a timely fashion and MLB drops the hammer on the players immediately.
  16. I really hope that entire front office gets canned this offseason. The fact that his team is a running joke now hopefully is not lost on the owner. How anyone likes LaRussa is beyond me. His coaching success was largely due to Canseco and McGwire and the awesome abilities of Dave Duncan. He was a major jerk both while managing and off of the field. The way Gibson has managed this team has all but assured no team is going to give him a 2nd chance. Its been a trainwreck and he has been more worried about being a tough guy than winning games.
  17. I would absolutely pick up Sandoval. Between him and Aram you would have 1st and 3rd solved. I don't care who plays where. It is probably a moot point because he is going to be really expensive. Also I like Parra and all but I still consider Davis to be the RF of the future. Parra is a great guy to start maybe 3 times a week at all three OF spots and be your crunch time pinch hitter. But I don't think he should be taking away a lot of AB's from Davis.
  18. I know it is early but I have been pretty impressed with Nelson so far. Over 8K per nine innings, less than 1 Hit per inning, 1.23 WHIP. He has had a couple bad innings including the 6th last night but I have to say the early returns are positive and I am glad we didn't trade him at the deadline. His stuff looks like it belongs to be here. Having Peralta and Nelson has really good starts in pre-arby and arby over the next 5 years is pretty exciting if you ask me.
  19. Roache seems like he has had a really solid couple of weeks. If the guy could even hit 240 he could be a valuable player; he has got to start making more consistent contact.
  20. It will be curious to see just how many new names there are. Hopefully some big ones so everyone can get off of Braun's back for a couple minutes. I wonder how long it will take to release the names? It is a government entity and its not like they work fast or anything.
  21. I think Mayo is really the only guy they should be moving. Ersan, Delfino, and Zaza are all pretty solid veterans to help out the young guys. Ersan could very well have a bounce back year; he still is a good talent he just had a horrendous year shooting.
  22. 1. Tyrone Taylor 2. Clint Coulter 3. Orlando Arcia 4. Monte Harrison 5. Taylor Williams 6. Jacob Gatewood 7. Kodi Medeiros 8. Jorge Lopez 9. Tyler Wagner 10. Tyler Cravy 11. Devin Williams 12. David Denson 13. Brandon Diaz 14. Gilbert Lara (Have a hard time ranking him harder with no experience at all) 15. Tucker Neuhas 16. Jason Rogers 17. Jed Bradley 18. Taylor Jungmann 19. Shawn Zarraga 20. Michael Reed 21. Dustin Demuth 22. Wi Chung Wang 23. Victor Roache 24. Nick Ramirez 25. Chris McFarland
  23. I don't think there is anyway they can't be better is there? I mean they were horrendous last year and now they have added a strong talent in Parker and will hopefully be using Giannis' talents a little better. Plus having a healthy and hopefully mentally stable Sanders improves the team a lot as well. They probably still top out at 35 wins but I am expecting them to be better and a hell of a lot more entertaining. It is interesting that they are proposing to change the draft lottery next year so that the worst 5-6 teams all have an equal shot at the #1 pick. If that happens I am guessing the Bucks will be one of those 6. Based on talent alone Philly is probably far and away favored to have the worst record next year.
  24. So for some reason last night I found myself watching Sharknado 2. Really awesome watching the star of the movie cut a flying shark in half with a chain saw. The last scene of the movie with Tara Reid was just brilliant and incredibly disturbing. The actors probably have a ton of fun filming those types of flicks. I wonder how much a movie like that can make? The advertising on Sci-Fi can only take them so far. I was too tired to watch the Sharktopus movie but it looked amazing.
  25. Well soft hand are a nice luxury at first if Aram were moved there. What the team does at 1st next year completely depends on what talent is available via FA or trades this offseason. It seems very unlikely the Brewers will give 1st to Morris anymore and it is probably even more unlikely that Reynolds and Overbay will be around so long as talent is available that would be considered an upgrade. Braun moving to 1st would be a longshot at best IMO. Aram maybe if we can get a really good 3rd basemen.
