  1. I made it tot he 14th inning. That was just one of those games they simply couldn't come up with the big hit against a fantastic pitching staff. Every reliever WAS has is pretty solid. Not optimistic that Estrada is going to help us avoid the sweep today but you never know
  2. Demuth is also destroying the Pioneer league thus far as well. Brandon Diaz also off to a fantastic start
  3. Cheese and rice. We aren't going to get many more chances to score runs here guys
  4. Jorge Lopez got named to the international team for the Futures Game. Congrats Jorge!! No other Brewers players were nominated. Hopefully next year the Brewers can get better representation when some of the A guys move up to AA. Could have perhaps made a case for a couple guys including Coulter, Taylor, and Arcia
  5. The 2013 draft was one of the worst drafts in recent memory from a talent perspective. Bennett was s shocker but there really was no consensus on even the top 2 or 3 guys last year. This year it is almost universal that Parker and Wiggins go 1 and 2 in some order. The only thing that is going to change that is if Utah or Philly manage to trade up. The more interesting part of the draft for the Bucks is what they are able to do beyond the 2nd pick. I will be disappointed if they stand pat and just take their 3 2nd rounders. They have some tradable assets so I hope they do whatever they can to get as many 1st round picks as possible. I would trade anyone except Giannis if the price is right. Knight, Sanders, Ersan, Middleton, and Henson I think would be pretty attractive to plenty of teams.
  6. Well Lebron officially opted out. I want him to leave MIA and go to a Western Conference team so bad. It would also be an added bonus if MIA becomes a trainwreck after buying their team a couple years back. Of course the Bucks should go after Lebron and pair him with Giannis and Wiggins/Parker. It is totally going to happen; tell him they will name their new arena after him; King James Arena sounds pretty good.
  7. Schwarber, Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Castro, etc - That is just a ton of offensive talent right there. Cubs organization is still lacking in pitching though
  8. I think we might be getting ahead of ourselves with the Giannis hype here. He has a LONG ways to go before he is a cornerstone player. He needs a ton of work on his shot and needs to get much more aggressive. I like what I saw from him last year but he is probably just as likely to flame out as he is to become a max player. Utah is apparently desperate to trade up to get Parker. I don't think I like the though of dropping to #5 because then you are probably getting Marcus Smart, maybe Embiid falls. Utah would have to sweeten the pot quite a bit to get Philly or Milwaukee to drop down out of the 1st tier of picks. Overall it seems like there are a lot of teams willing to trade in and out of lottery picks; should be an interesting draft night
  9. Brewers fans stuffed the ballot boxes this week; holy smokes. Gomez now in 3rd and within striking distance of 1st (Braun 5th) Ramirez is now in 1st at 3rd Lucroy is solidly in 2nd but well behind Molina Brewers fans even made the questionable decision to vote for Weeks and Reynolds as they have also cracked the Top #5. Segura still in 2nd a mile behind Tulo
  10. I probably do underrate Middleton a bit. If they could trade #31 and someone like Ersan or Zaza instead of Middleton that would be preferred. I just would love 3 picks in the first round; make it happen.
  11. Dream Scenario 1. Draft Wiggins at #2 2. Trade Sanders & Knight for #8 and McLemore; draft highest available among Stauskus, Harris, or Randle 3. Trade #31, Middleton and/or other spare parts for a pick in the 20-23 range take Napier, Hairston, or Payne 4. At #36 take Cleanthony Early, CJ Wilcox, or maybe Giannis' little bro 5. At #48 take whoever I don't care; probably want a PG like Johnson or Carson though
  12. I had not heard of that Sanders deal but if the Kings are really offering the #8 for him I would do it in a heartbeat. Zaza and Henson can hold down the 5 spot. If they pull that off I would definitely just stand pat at #2 and take Wiggins or Parker. Knight, Wiggins/Parker, Giannis, Henson and ? would be a pretty exciting lineup. You probably need a shooter of some sort in that lineup. Maybe start Ersan at the #4 and Henson at #5. Or draft Stauskas or Harris at #8 play them at SG and move the rest of the guys around to fill in.
  13. I will be shocked if Melvin stands pat at the trading deadline this year. When he knows he has a good time and a window to complete he really goes for broke. I have always been a Doug Melvin apologist; I will be curious to see if he finds a 1st basemen to replace our crapfest and who he finds to help out the bullpen. 1st base does seem to be the 1 glaring mistake on his resume right now; but he has made many more right moves than wrong ones it seems.
  14. The new owners came out and said today that Embiid will not be the guy; so unless there is a trade the pick will be however Cleveland doesn't take. If Cle takes Parker; I have to imagine PHI will be falling over themselves trying to trade with MIL. The drop off from Wiggins at #2 to an injured Embiid or very unproven Exum at #3 is pretty huge. I would be happy with either Parker or Wiggins. I would probably be happy to a trade down to #3 so long as we get a good package (Such as the #10 this year or their 1st round pick in 2015).
  15. Monte Harrison with a really solid 1st game; Gatewood not so much
  16. Over / Under on HR's allowed for Estrada tonight? I will start at 3. I don't even know if I want to watch; its going to be painful
  17. Excited for the first full link report of the year. Who starts opening day in Arizona should be interesting
  18. I agree that the drop from #1 to #5 isn't covered by Derrick Favors in return. At #1 you can get potentially a franchise player; at #5 you are looking at Julius Randle or Marcus Smart. Those two can be good players but it isn't worth it to bypass Wiggins for them. If they offered #5 and Favors to the Bucks I might at least consider it. Maybe they get Exum at #5, plug Favors into the rotation and trade some combination of Sanders, Ersan, Knight, or Henson for more draft picks.
  19. Budweiser tastes like pee; that alone should drive those folks mad. Plus those people eat fake cheese on their pizza; if you can't even eat pizza like a normal person how are they supposed to act like normal baseball fans.
  20. At least both Gatewood and Harrison are high school kids. Roache had a questionable hit tool coming out of college. Both of those kids as far as I know are better athletes than Roache as well. I still have hopes for Roache though; he doesn't need to hit 280 to be valuable. He can't hit 200 either though. He might just need to get out of the hitters nightmare that is Brevard County.
  21. So now that Embiid probably has a broken foot this could work out perfectly for the Bucks. Wiggins will never make it to Philly at #3 so if they really want him they will need to trade up with Bucks or Cavs. Bucks at #3 could still take the risk and take Embiid despite a back injury and now a foot injury (Hello Greg Oden) or they could pick Exum at #3 as a PG of the future and hopefully pick up another lottery pick this year or next year. If Embiid's injury is serious enough I can't imagine him going Top 2 anymore and that really puts Philly in a bind. They already have Nerlens Noel as a C project and Michael Carter Williams as their PG; so Embiid or Exum for them might not make a ton of sense although when you suck you don't draft for need. They might get desperate enough to give up that 10th pick to move up to 1 or 2. I am guessing CLE would take Wiggins though; so Philly would bypass the #2 spot and go straight for #1.
  22. I think Parker is a fine pick. You can't really go wrong with any of the 3. Maybe Parker has the lowest ceiling of the 3 but he still has all star potential and should be able to play immediately. He probably has the highest floor too. How Drew or a new coach would fill out a lineup including both Giannis and Parker I am not sure. That same problem would exist if they took Wiggins. They are all ideally small forwards. They also have Middleton, Henson, and Ersan to fit in somewhere as well. Really forward heavy. Once of Parker or Giannis would probably have to play SG
  23. Cravy has certainly flied under the radar for me. Something must have clicked with him this year; he wasn't even in the back of my mind as a sleeper candidate coming into this year.
