  1. I get why no one likes Hammond but I still don't understand why people seem to like Kidd the coach or Kidd the talent evaluator. He really hasn't doing anything to deserve that sort of credit. Hopefully it works out I guess. Free agency starts today; not expecting the Bucks to do much but I imagine they are on the hunt for some guard help. So far I haven't seen much in the way or rumors; I am sure anything they do will be pretty minor.
  2. Really nice day all around for the hitters through the organization. The power hasn't quite come yet for the Rookie league guys but it is nice to seem them getting some hits after a bit of a slow start Are the two Hawaiian kids going to make their pitching debuts in Arizona anytime soon?
  3. I am guessing in 2 or 3 years if Kidd actually does a decent job will move to bigger and better things. No doubt it my mind that Kidd will bolt as soon as a better offer comes from a high profile team. There is very little chance IMO that he is in Milwaukee for more than 3 years. He will either be fired for being terrible or he will move on to someone else.
  4. In my opinion if you would need to offer 3 of Nelson, Coulter, Taylor, Arcia, and Williams and who here would really want to do that? The price is going to be way too high. Melvin can still improve the rotation but I think we need to set the bar a bit lower.
  5. Between paying Drew for the rest of his contract and the $4-5 Million for Kidd it does seem a waste of money to pay $7 Million a year for the head coach; but then again its not my money either. I really hope it works out and I have loved everything the owners have done up to this point; but their process was really backwards on this coaching search. They might have been it much harder on themselves when the time comes to find an actual good GM; no GM wants the owners doing deals without his knowledge. At least we have been told Hammond had no idea until it was time to negotiate the trade with NJ. And why Kidd? If the owners really want to make their own mark, why the heck did they pick Kidd to be that guy? Lasry serving as the guy's financial advisor hardly qualifies him to know he should be the next coach.
  6. So his work with a pretty solid Atlanta team doesn't count for anything. What has Kidd done that proves he is anymore competent than Drew? The only thing Kidd has done is led a team many picked to be very good to a #6 seed in a mediocre eastern conference, got his lead assistant fired 2 weeks after the season started, and basically got himself fired by the Nets for trying to gain more power.
  7. If Morneau were available I would be inclined to give up maybe something like Tyler Cravy, Mitch Haniger, and Gagnon for him. All three of those have MLB potential but it would be worth it to get Morneau in here.
  8. I would just like to add that Jeff Bianchi is freaking terrible. Priority #1 for Melvin has to be finding a competent backup infielder.
  9. Run any semblance of an offense besides have Knight dribble for 20 seconds before firing up a shot or passing to somebody with almost no time left. That would've been a good start. Well how much of that had to do with the lack of offensive talent on the team? Hammond put together a team with no one that could create its own shot and traded for a shoot first PG. What did he expect? Jennings basically did the same thing while he was here so it wasn't new to Drew. I am not saying I am in love with Drew or anything I just think its crummy that he got run out of town like this and never really got the chance to coach a competent team.
  10. What could Drew have done better last season? He was given a train wreck of a team that had injuries all over the place. If you need anyone to blame for last year you blame Hammond. If I were Hammond I would already be looking for another job; if his new bosses are making his basketball decisions for him after only about a month on the job that is probably a good sign things aren't going to get better for him. The new owners certainly look like they are going to be the meddling type.
  11. Yeah I don't like it. On the surface I don't really care that they are giving up 2015 and 2109 2nd round picks since we do have 5!! 2nd round picks in 2015; but Kidd doesn't strike me as a guy teams should be falling over to get. But I suppose hiring just retired players with minimal to no head coaching experience is the thing to do nowadays. It just seems really unprofessional if he was really not only trying to take the Philly GM job but also Drew's job. It should not surprise anyone if he has worn out his welcome within 1-2 years at MIL. This is a rebuilding team and he doesn't have the patience for it. I shutter to think what he would do to the roster if he were to become GM.
  12. I wouldn't mind Kidd if he hadn't looked like such a prick in his first year and now demanding more responsibility? He got his lead assistant canned for god knows what reason; he took what was expected to be a very good team and made them a #6 seed with an early exit, and then he demanded he take over GM responsibilities as well? On top of that he actively pursued a job that was not open. That's 4 strikes right there. Maybe Kidd ends up being a good fit; but his tenure as a coach has been an absolute disaster and he is going to a team that demands patience. From what I can tell Kidd has basically no patience at all. If screws up Giannis and Parker by putting too much on them I am going to be so pissed. I would have rather stuck with Drew.
  13. He also has a ridiculous 8 consecutive games with 2 or more hits.
  14. Kidd is kind of a joke; he obviously has a huge ego and will probably wear out his welcome very early wherever he goes. Jason you have 1 year of coaching experience and now you are demanding to basically be GM as well? That's not how it works. I won't like the move if it happens.
  15. They should try to package those picks with a couple players this offseason to pick up another 1st round pick or two next year. Ersan, Sanders, Mayo, maybe Knight, Etc. It will be curious to find out if Hammond is still employed much longer or if the rumors were true that he was just held long enough to complete the draft.
  16. 6' 8" is kind of small for a PF though; I would rather him play the SF. It probably doesn't really matter though. Most teams in the NBA will have problems matching up with the Bucks height and length regardless of where each guy is playing. Their SG, SF, PF, and C, could all be 6"8" +. The Bucks need to find some guard depth through trades and free agency unless they plan on Mayo being a contributor. Apparently the Frenchman is coming over this year; I can maybe see one of the 2nd round picks making the team but not both. You can carry only so many power forwards.
  17. I thought O'Bryant was a little bit bigger than that; o well. Regardless the Bucks still have a huge logjam at the forward spots. Giannis probably will have to play a lot of SG when you have Parker, Ersan, Henson, O'Bryant, Adrien, and Middleton. If I had to guess the starting lineup on Day #1 without considering FA pick ups or trades it would be Knight Giannis Parker Henson Sanders Middleton, Zaza, O'Bryant, Ersan, and Wolters as the key back ups. Ersan could start at the PF over Henson I suppose. At this point I doubt the Frenchman will be coming over; he is only 19.
  18. For all the trade talk leading up to the draft it turns out basically everyone stayed right where they were. The teams will the premium picks were just asking for absurd return most likely. I obviously like the Parker pick; it was the one they had to make. I know nothing about Inglis; who knows if he even comes over to the states. If he is another diamond in the rough like Giannis then great. O'Bryant is another Sanders like player who probably should be a good depth guy. Adding Parker is great; but before getting into free agency this is clearly still a team that needs more pieces. Another top 5 pick next year would be nice.
  19. O I think they would take Henson and the #2 for #1; they would be picking up Henson for basically nothing since they are still going to get Wiggins or Parker which are basically equals. Bucks would be dumb to do that but I think CLE would be interested. The only reason I thought CLE might trade out of #1 for players is because they really aren't that far away from competing especially in the East. They underperformed horribly this year but long term they already have a lot of talent; a lot more than the Bucks for sure.
  20. Well if the intention of the Cavs is try to lure James back they might lean towards competing now and trading the pick. I don't think they would have much use for Knight though since they have Irving. Sanders, Henson, Middleton, ,2015 unprotected pick, and 2014 2nd round pick would be awfully enticing one would think. We would probably need to take some salary back. I would do that trade in a heartbeat if I were the Bucks. It wouldn't happen in a million years but it is fun to think about. I have to imagine in all seriousness that Cleveland would require a top 10 pick this year, unprotected pick in 2015, and players if they trade out of #1. I can't imagine them trading out of #1 without getting a high 2014 draft pick in return.
  21. Afflalo just got traded for Denver for what amounts to a bunch of crap. So that trade with Cleveland is off the table unless it is just 4 and 12 or if they find an acceptable substitute. In the end I think CLE keeps their pick but I don't think they even know which player they will take. I imagine Hammond's phone is probably ringing off the hook. It seems half the league wants to draft Wiggins or Parker. Unless you stay in say the Top 6; pick up another 2014 1st round pick, and a 2015 unprotected pick from a likely lottery team I think you just stand pat. The Bucks desperately need a superstar on the team. Giannis may turn out to be one; but you absolutely have to hedge your bets and draft Wiggins or Parker as well. Hell the Bucks should just trade Henson or Sanders, 2015 1st rounder, 2014 31st pick, and whatever other players CLE wants not named Giannis and have the 1st and 2nd picks and take both Wiggins and Parker
  22. If you really want Exum though; then you trade down to #3 with Philly and get whatever else you can. You can't take Exum at #2; if they would rather have him then Parker then trade down a spot and pick up another pick somewhere. My money still remains on Parker but a lot could happen today with trades. There seem to be a lot of rumors about teams trying to move both up and down this year. Something is bound to happen.
  23. Just to confirm what we already know; the Bucks told Parker they would take him at #2 if he is available. I am sure they told Wiggins the same thing. That puts me a bit at ease that Hammond won't reach for Exum or Embiid at this point. But these are all still rumors until Thursday night.
  24. The top two picks appear to be in very high demand; CLE and MIL just have to hold on to these picks unless the return is just crazy. The drop off from 1-2 to the rest of the draft is huge; I don't think it is worth it to give up Wiggins or Parker just to get 2 or 3 second tier guys. Just take the potential star. I will probably change my mind again before Thursday. Just don't screw this up Hammond.
  25. Demuth, Diaz, Harrison have all been raking at the lower levels so far. Really starting to get excited about Arcia; I will admit I didn't really see the light at the end of the tunnel for the kid. He has never really been all that impressive with the bat but you really forget how young he is. He will probably be at AA in his age 20 season and if things go right in Milwaukee in his age 21 season.
